We had a great stay! Check-in was smooth and easy. The host provided clear instructions ahead of time, which made arrival stress-free. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the essentials, including cookware, dishes, and even a few extras like coffee. We especially appreciated there were dog bowls provided, which made things so much easier for us and our pup! Lisa was a fantastic host. She responded quickly to any questions we had and gave great recommendations for local places to eat and sightsee. Her suggestions really helped us make the most of our trip. The space was comfortable, welcoming, and exactly as described. Highly recommend staying here!
I have nothing but good things to say about this cabin and this stay. The host is excellent, and the cabin is relatively new construction. It is clean and in excellent repair. The location is excellent, with a nice open view in the back. It’s a quiet place to stay– none better.

This was a fantastic way to detox our kids from electronics. We had great family fun. S'mores on the fire pit. It was a lovely stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
We liked most everything, it was a great place to stay. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that the listing mentioned walking to Wolf Creek to fish, but there was no obvious path without wading thought the tall grass across the pasture. It would be nice to have a mown path down to the water to drive or walk on.

Not Bad
Seems as if building not completed. Uncovered water lines, bares stuff. Bugs galore. Understanding we had the doors open at times, but the amount of bugs inside was somewhat disheartening. Almost as if there had been nothing sprayed inside to prevent. It is a problem when you continue killing spiders, makes sleeping a problem. Main reason for not great ratings.

Hi Darrell, thanks for letting us know about your stay. After going over your feedback, the homeowner wanted to address the items that you mentioned:
-We're going to have a plumber come out to resolve the exposed waterlines.
-Given the property is near the water, bugs and spiders are common. We had the property sprayed earlier in October and will have them come out again soon.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review!

First night was awful, second day improved
I also posted on Evolve which is the property management company. But we arrived at about 10 pm on day of check in and there was mouse feces on the kitchen counters, in the bathtub and on all the beds and under the pillows. They offered the second cabin on property but it had not been cleaned since their prior guest, I guess the local contact was not aware of that because he sent us over and we had to let them know that. They did come out for a quick clean and linen change on the mouse free cabin and we were able to get in at about 1 am. The next morning they asked us to pack back up so their cleaner could do a deep clean. We were able to get back in at about 4pm on Day 2.
If the first cabin had been clean when we arrived, this would be an easy 5 stars. They were very communicative with getting us back in the first night to the mouse free cabin. They must have resolved the issue on the first cabin because people checked in over the weekend when we were there. It was a super disappointing way to start a trip especially after driving 10 hours in from South of Austin Texas.
But the beds were comfy, the location was fantastic, and the cabin once cleaned was, tidy, comfortable and had everything a short term renter would need.
Despite the awful start, we would stay again, which is why we gave 3 stars instead of 1. Hopefully the local care takers will be more diligent with checking the state of the cabins prior to check in and this won't be an issue for future guests.

Hi Melissa, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:- We apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay. Thank you for accepting the compensation we offered you. - Unfortunately, these out-of-the-ordinary events occurred during your visit, and we hope you understand we have talked with our cleaning crew to ensure this issue does not recur for future travelers. - We were also more than happy to send our cleaning crew to resolve your concerns and make your stay more comfortable.- While we regret our home was not up to your expectations, we’re happy to share that our most recent guests reported no issues. - We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have a wonderful stay!
Beautiful, clean, and perfect for a get away. I plan to stay again. Close to the lake and perfect for kids. Pet friendly. Close to town and all the activity but private so when the day ends we can relax in peace by a campfire.
It was centrally located to enjoy the outdoors of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri. My wife really enjoyed the antique shopping. The house has a great view and is neatly named after awesome Scotches.
The property is located near downtown and the Wolf Creek ramp, but far enough away to feel like your away from it all. Excellent location. Plenty of parking for two trucks and boats. The cabins are new and nice. Will be staying here again.
