What an amazing and beautiful place to stay. My family and I had a wonderful week here. Excellent location, and hosts were very communicative and left helpful pointers for the surrounding area. We would highly recommend staying here and we plan to come back again!
Absolutely beautiful camp on the water! The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. It’s hard to find a pet friendly place to stay, but these host’s welcomed our dogs with open arms! I’ll definitely be back again!
Everything was excellent! The setting was quiet, calm, and peaceful. The house was as pictured…spacious, well stocked, plenty of living space to gather or enjoy quiet time alone. The lake is pristine! Owners were communicative, and provided everything one could need for an enjoyable stay! Hope to be able to visit again!
Absolutely amazing place and hosts, the home was beautiful with so much space and tranquility, we have stayed at many places and this was the entire family’s favorite! The hosts were so attentive and gracious! We are already planning our next stay here.
This is the most beautiful little lake house. Very quiet and beautifully furnished. Such care in all the details. Owners of the property are wonderful and incredibly thoughtful! Will be back for sure!
10/10 highly recommend!
This is a beautiful home in a quiet spot on the pond. We enjoyed our stay with five adults and our dog. Plenty of space to walk, swim, or paddle. The home has so many unique qualities. You get a beautiful view of the lake and Hummingbirds right in front of you. Everything you might need is there. The owners were avaliable to answer any questions we had. Definitely would book again in the future.
Great spot if you’re looking to be away from the crowds and have a lot of privacy (which we were). House wasn’t exactly as shown with one of the bedrooms showing 2 twin beds in the photos (had one double), although we made it work with everyone in our group. Short drive to Sugarloaf ski (and other ski resorts), which made for very scenic drives in Maine. Overall, we were very happy with the property.
Managed to get away for a long weekend, but wish we could gave stayed longer. Extremely accomodating hosts and home. We were totally blown away by how nice everything was right when we walked in, and continued to be blown away as we had time to explore inside and out a bit. 100% on our listto revisit again in the future. We came this time in January. Maybe summer or fall next time. So nice and relaxing...

A Little Bit of Paradise
Look no further! You will not go wrong with this place. It is amazingly beautiful, very secluded, and so tranquil. The house has everything you need and there is so much attention to detail in the decor. The owners went above and beyond to help make our honeymoon there so special. We were blown away by the beauty around us. We saw the comet in the sky every night that we were there, saw a stunning full moon reflected over the lake from the comfort of the heated deck, and apparently, the forecast for the night we were leaving predicted some spectacular views of the Northern Lights. Highly recommend, and we can't wait to return.
If you are looking for a beautifully appointed home, privacy, and quiet on a gorgeous waterfront in Maine, you just have to visit this spot. It’s absolutely gorgeous, has every little thing you could need and nothing you want to leave behind. The owners are absolutely committed to your enjoyment - which we experienced when there was an issue with the a/c (they were all over it!). The private dock is lovely; the kitchen is stocked like home, and the deck is impossible to over hype. We will be back.
We were initially a little hesitant to book a week here based on so few reviews but the property is exactly as pictured and described. We had such a relaxing week reading by the fireplace and watching the snow fall onto the lake. The property is very secluded and the definition of a peaceful retreat away from it all. (So away from it all that I do recommend stopping at a major grocery store on your way up - there are some small markets nearby but they are expensive and pretty limited). For days when we did want to get out and about, we found plenty of hiking trails nearby and it was only about a 40 min drive to Sugarloaf for skiing.
This home is absolutely beautiful! The view from the living room that greets you when you first walk in is breathtaking. The main bedroom is an oasis - high ceilings with a beautiful and unique light fixture, and separate doors off to a private deck. The kitchen had everything we needed to spend several evening leisurely cooking family meals. We also had a great time with a family air hockey tournament one night, and spent one lovely day paddling around the lake. Lots of great hiking in the area; we ourselves were finishing up some mountains for the New England 67 list and this was a great home base.Communication with the hosts was excellent. These folks are the best! I highly recommend this home, wouldn’t change a thing!
I don't even know where to begin. The home exceeded all our expectations. It was extremely clean, comfortable, and well supplied with just about everything you could expect. It was absolutely perfect and the owner Ed and Rodney were extremely friendly, communicative, and made sure our stay was pleasant every step of the way. My husband and I and our sweet German Shepherd boy Riley loved our stay at Embden Pond. We couldn't ask for a better vacation. Thank you so much Ed and Rodney!!!! We will definitely be back.
Look no further! This place has everything you need and then some. The location is absolutely perfect. It is off the beaten path and so serene, but still close enough to activities and food places to make it well worth a bit of extra driving. There is a Japanese soaker tub which was very cool and a steamer shower which is like a combination of a sauna and shower. Such a treat!!
If you're into stargazing, you're in luck. The sky puts on a show nightly. We were lucky enough to see the ATLAS comet off the back deck every single night we were there. We also caught a brilliant full moon over the pond that made the water sparkle and just took our breath away. Apparently, the Northern Lights were supposed to be visible the night after we left! The home is meticulously decorated and the kitchen is a cook's dream. Rodney and Ed went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We had a magical week there and will most definitely return.
This location and property are without a doubt among the most beautiful we have experienced starting with the clear water of Embden Pond. The pictures of the property are exactly as we found--stunning in the design and comfort with the extra beautiful use of antiques each telling a story and making a lasting statement. What you can only personally experience, however, is the welcoming warmth of a well-loved and beautifully appointed home.
The hospitality was spot on--beginning with Ed's welcome and Rodney's accessibility for answers to questions. If your travels take you to Maine please consider this property. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th in complete comfort and peace. We could think of nothing negative to say. From the coffee maker to the views, complete top notch. The kitchen had every spice I could think of and many I hadn't even heard of 😂. If we ever return to Maine, we would definitely visit Embden Pond again, thank you ever so much.
Great getaway for a week! True "waterfront" access. This listing is accurate, just steps away from Embden Pond. Very responsive with any questions we had while staying. The water was very clean. We liked that there was not a lot of boat traffic at all. Lots to do, kayaking & swimming. We got to also try out paddleboarding!! My teens enjoyed it all very much floating on the provided floats/tubes and jumping off the floating dock. All of us adults also enjoyed relaxing and spending quality family time away. It is more remote than we have previously stayed. However you can find some quaint ice cream places and local food within 20-30 minutes. July 2022 Would love to visit again!!
Relaxation among warmth, charm, beautiful views. With a perfect host.
Very comfortable getaway with amazing mixture of rustic environment and high-end fixtures. If you like to cook, this kitchen will make you smile. If relaxation is your thing, the top-quality dock is a great place to relax (or on the semi-shaded deck - you have options), followed by a luxurious shower or soak in the Japanese soaking tub (a rare find). We are hooked on the Jura coffee machine and have ponied-up $2,700 for one of our own. The game room stays nice and cool on warm summer evenings and is well-appointed for hanging out.
The cabin is a sportsman's paradise, while sophisticated enough for just about anyone. Lots of hunting and fishing decor (if you own a PETA tee-shirt, you may want to pass ;)
My son and I caught several bass right off the dock and enjoyed kayaking around the large, but gentle pond.
Our beloved Labrador was welcome which was so very much appreciated.
Our host, Rodney was communicative, exceptionally welcoming and eager to ensure we felt at home. We will certainly return in the future.
