Welcome to Swan Meadow Cottages & Events, an Amazing Private Farm Cottage. Inside you will find a Sweet Victorian, traditional-styled home all to yourself. Your lodging comfort is assured in 3 relaxing bed rooms which sleeps up to 5 comfortably; one main floor suite and two more rooms upstairs. Each room is suited for solitude and comfort. It’s those little extras that make your stay more enjoyable. Our guests enjoy a comfortable night's rest on a Queen Sleep Number® mattress in the main floor master bedroom, A Trio of Twin Beds in the two upstairs bedrooms, Full Kitchen with plenty of Appliances, Breakfast Nook, Formal Dining Room, Parlor Room, HD Satellite Cable-Ready Smart TV, Complimentary High-Speed WIFI.

Charming!

This is an historic cottage on a working farm. Our 4 year old loved exploring the grounds and seeing the farm animals! It is a charming place in the countryside. Gail was a very thoughtful host, providing many amenities you may have forgotten. Note: You will need to bring your own shampoo and body wash, and there are a number of breakable items in the house if you plan on bringing young children. We had no issues and absolutely loved our stay here!

The property is clean, beautiful and inviting. The hosts are so nice and friendly. We love the cows, peacocks, swans and ginnies that are all hanging out on the property. Such a relaxing and inviting place inside and out. Short drive to Greeley and several other inviting Colorado towns. Can't wait to return.

Beautiful home and stay

We had a wonderful time at swan meadows- the house and yard are beautiful and well maintained. Gail went above and beyond providing snacks and goodies and breakfast items in the fridge. Our kids enjoyed the huge swings but most of all enjoyed all the animals next door at Gail and Eltons working farm. They spent most of their time petting the goats and cats and chickens. Elton and Gail are wonderful hosts and we hope to come back again!

A place in paradise with a lovely host who goes above and beyond to make your visit enjoyable.

The cottage is set up to make it feel like home. A well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, very clean, and beautiful outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. Lots of entertainment watching and interacting with the animals that live there. Gail, the host, makes sure you have everything you need to be comfortable and happy.. She quickly became a friend.

Absolute Perfection

Swan Meadow Cottage is unparalleled in beauty and charm! Inside, the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and the bedrooms are comfortable and welcoming. Outside, the grounds have a beautiful lawn with huge shade trees, plenty of outdoor furniture to relax or gather, and frequent visitations from one of the numerous peacocks on the property. The cottage is part of a working farm that is owned by the amazing hosts. They are both a breath of fresh air and are the kindest, most welcoming people. You will not regret your stay at this property!

Unique Stay on a Farm

My wife and I had a lovely stay at Swan Meadows. What a unique spot. This carefully kept cottage had all we needed, modern appliances, AC, snacks, banana bread. The Queen sleep number bed was an added bonus being adjustable. Great spot with room enough for others (we barely went upstairs). The host couldn’t have been more kind and responsive. Nice to just sit in the yard and relax and watch the many beautiful birds. Thanks for hosting us.

Peaceful and beautifully decorated

This rental was the greatest rental we have used when we needed a house. The owner, Gail went over and above to make sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. We have never had a rental that was so well stocked with goodies to make our stay memorable. The bed and linens were so comfortable and just like being home. One thing that was truly awesome was there was a dozen red roses waiting for us. The location suited our needs and it was well lit each night when we returned. we will only use this rental when we need one in this area. We had no complaints and really hated going home and leaving this beautiful property. Can’t wait to return.

Family reunion on the praire

The property is amazing and has so many cool outside features! My kids loved the tree swing and as we were packing up said can we stay here next time we come back to see family. The house is extremely well maintained for its age and the Victorian theme is in full display. Gail was a great host and ensured we had everything we needed. My parents came for dinner and there was plenty of dinning space for 6 could’ve even sat 10. Gail we accidentally ended up with a spoon being left in my moms dish that she took home. We’ll try to facilitate getting it back to you! We’ll be back for sure!

well beyond expectations

Swan Cottage exceeded our expectations, the house was so well provisioned with everything we could want. It is welcoming itself, old style house but modern kitchen, good wifi, A/C was helpful. Everything was as in the photos but better. It would be a fine place for a few people to stay there and host a quite large event in the park-like area where the house is located. The stairs to the two upstairs bedrooms might be hard for someone older than we are, we are only 77. But the chocolate snacks made up for that. We wished we could stay longer. Lovely Cottage Retreat!

Wonderful experience! Amazing hosts, very detail oriented and welcoming. The cottage is stocked with delicious and healthy snacks and the best banana bread ever! There are pots and pans if you would like to cook your meals, although there are excellent local restaurants to choose from as well. Everything in the cottage is decorated with upmost care and attention to detail in a Victorian style. We did not need for anything while staying at the Swans Meadows. The location is surrounded by beautiful trees and lovely swans mingling in a pond. You can hear birds singing in the morning and peacocks roaming free are an added pleasure. We enjoyed the peace of the countryside quietness -- a healing experience overall especially after not been able to enjoy a family getaway for too long. Thank you so much Ms. Gail!

Beautiful, peaceful setting

We certainly enjoyed this property. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The cottage was cute, clean and well stocked. In fact, this is best stocked property we have ever rented! (stocked with organic snacks, bread, butter, eggs, coffee, water, etc.). We are coffee drinkers so the Keurig machine with lots of coffee k-cups was very much appreciated! If you like spending time outside taking in the fresh air, and peaceful country setting, this is a great place for you. Lots of nice areas to sit outside. It is close to UNC where our son attends college. The owners were great (very nice and communicative). They take pride in this property and value the experience they provide to their guests. This is not a complaint but if I could change one thing, I wish there was a king bed in main floor bedroom. I highly recommend this property and plan to return.

Best place to stay EVER

Wow! I can't say enough about this wonderful place to stay. The rental is a beautiful cottage on a gorgeous farm which includes swans, peacocks, cows, and other animals. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and include nice outdoor seating areas to include a firepit, a hammock, and table and chairs for outside dining if desired. A gas grill is also available. There are even swings hung from tall trees which we enjoyed. The cottage is stocked with so many thoughtful creature comforts... coffee, tea, fresh fruit, soft drinks, and baked goods. The bed was comfortable and the linens were very nice quality (lots of extra fresh towels, too). My only regret is that we were so busy during our visit that we did not have more down time at the cottage to just relax and enjoy the environment. We stayed the weekend to attend our son's graduation from UNC in Greeley, Colorado, which is just an easy drive away. We definitely plan to stay at this lovely place again. I look forward to it! If you stay here, you will enjoy the property inside and out. The hostess and host are most hospitable and made me love this special place even more.

Quiet, comfortable, secluded cottage

Gail and Elton are wonderful, generous and thoughtful hosts. You can see all of the effort that has been put into making the cottage the cozy and comfortable place that it is. Our hosts provided many things we wouldn't have expected and rarely see in a rental like this - Gail has made it into a well stocked, well equipped, and welcoming home. The cottage had everything from snacks and spices to pots and pans, and even a new stove. Any issues were immediately dealt with, and they were rare. A coil in the oven burned out while we were there, and they replaced the entire stove by the next afternoon. Gail welcomed us with home baked goods and had already put some groceries in the refrigerator for our arrival so we didn't need to rush to the store our first night. Gail made sure our every comfort was met during our month long stay. After a heavy snowfall, the driveway was plowed, the car cleaned off and the cottage steps shoveled. On our intended departure date, dodgy weather conditions prompted Gail to invite us to remain one extra day (at no cost) so that our return drive would occur in safer conditions. Such amazing thoughtfulness and hospitality! The hosts are gracious and the cottage is beautiful and welcoming. You can't go wrong with this place!

Perfect in every way possible!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Swan Meadow Cottages Resort. Gail and Elton were the perfect hosts in every way! The cottage was more that adequate for 4 adults. It was extremely clean! Many snacks are available for daily use and Gail even went to the store after I mentioned that I liked peanut butter and celery. The cottage is equipped with air conditioning which was on when we arrived. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I feel like we had two vacations. One at RMNP and one when we were at the cottage. Elton was so willing to share his knowledge about all the animals and offered for us to explore his property. It was extremely peaceful and beautiful. Elton set up the hammock for us. We had so much fun feeding the animals and taking pictures of the goats, peacocks, cats, chickens, swans and other animals. I would like to return just for the cottage experience. What a peaceful location with good people. Thank you Gail and Elton for hosting us at your home. It was a memorable vacation! The only problem was that I wish we had more time to stay at the cottage. Maybe next time!

Soul Revival

I stayed at this property for nearly five weeks with my two dogs. First, let me say that Gail & Elton Johnson are the most hospitable, accommodating hosts you will ever meet. Examples: The charcoal grill wasn't something that I felt comfortable operating. So they bought, assembled and delivered a gas grill for me. I had guests that came to stay with me for an evening, and Gail worked tirelessly to prepare the upstairs bedrooms for their arrival, and Elton cut up and delivered wood for us to have a campfire that night. Both of my dogs ended up having surgery while I was at the cottage, and Gail not only helped me nurse them both back to health, she picked up their medication from the vet's office for me AND she brought me two dozen red roses because she knew my stress level was at max capacity. She is, without a doubt, the sweetest woman I have ever met. Gail and Elton were both constantly asking if I needed anything and checking up on me. It was calving season on the farm while I was there, and every day I got updates on the new faces of the calves that had arrived. One even got out of the pasture, and Elton and I rounded him back up -- an experience I never would have had anywhere else. As for the cottage and the grounds, it's about as private as you can get. It is the equivalent of a luxury resort. It will soothe and heal your soul. There's a canal on the property, with chaise lounge chairs beside it, as well as a hammock, under HUGE cottonwood trees. Stunningly magnificent. Outdoor seating areas are clustered around the lush green property, as well as flower beds and lilac trees. Inside, the cottage is the most well-stocked property that you will EVER visit. Here are just a few of the luxuries that Gail has ensured every guest enjoys: Home baked banana bread, quiche, nuts, crackers, chocolates, organic butter, milk and eggs, fresh fruit, fresh flowers, etc. On top of that, the farm is a working farm, which means that Gail and Elton have delicious steaks and eggs available for sale, too. The kitchen has everything imaginable; Kuerig, crock pot, all utensils, dishware, vases, etc. The home itself is beautifully and tastefully decorated. It's gorgeous. Living on the farm means that you'll watch the guinea hens (they're like a group of little old ladies running around & gossiping), swans, peacocks, ducks and geese just walk on by, as if to say, "Good morning! How are you?" The Johnson's cottage is good for your soul

The Best

We travel a lot and this was the nicest and most relaxing stay ever. Home was graciously supplied with snacks, eggs from the farm, basic condiments in the fridge and the best banana bread ever. So beautiful, in the country, and the best hosts out there. Different birds wandering the property, (peacocks, guineas, chickens, swans) Beautiful green property, cows having calves during our stay was awesome. Plenty of places to sit in the shade and relax or picnic outside. Just like a beautiful park. Special thanks to Gail and Elton for a tremendous stay.

We fall in love with this historic farm (Built in 1906) which is full of tall green trees and a creek. The landscape is amazing--cross the corn fields and wow take your breath away. Swan Meadow Cottages is one of northern Colorado's best kept secrets. It is so quiet here and only 15 miles away from the larger city limits.
