When coming to Girdwood do it the “Alaskan Way” by staying in a log cabin. Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins are located on a quiet private road where the property borders the Chugach Forest with access to Beaver Pond Trail. Placer Cabin has two bedrooms and sleeps six people.
Placer Cabin is fully furnished and the full kitchen is stocked with plenty of pots and pans, dishes, glassware and utensils for all your cooking needs. BBQ grill is available during the summer and extra freezer space is available upon request. Other amenities include a wireless internet, basic cable and a video library.
Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins are two miles from the slopes and are on the Girdwood shuttle route to simplify your transportation needs to the mountain or out to see a show.

Cozy accommodations, great for families

Our family of 4 (with 2 children under 10) loved our stay at Placer Cabin! The location is perfect—close to great food and shops, yet tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The cabin was well-appointed with everything we needed, and the hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!

The cabin was very clean, and had plenty of seats to sit down and relax despite its small size. They made great use of the space and we never felt cramped. My toddler loved the loft bedroom and looking down to the living area from the top of the stairs.

Great cabin

We needed a weekend away, so we stayed at the cabin. It was nestled away from the highway so it was quiet. I especially appreciated that the rental was pet free. The cabin was clean and cozy, just what we needed so we could relax.

Lynne's cabin was a great stop on our way through the Kenai Peninsula. The cabin is easy to find, clean and cozy. Lynne was very helpful and even left us welcome cakes! I'd happily stay again, and we actually wished we had an extra night at the cabin on our trip.

The log cabin was so nice and quiet. Very clean and perfect for us as we were enjoying celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary. We would definitely choose to stay there again. So much better than a hotel or condo. We were so happy to find this. The owners were very nice and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Very cute and great location

This little cabin was awesome. It had everything we needed if we wish to cook and is very clean with great beds and soft towels. The location for us was amazing and near several good restaurants. The owners who live next door made themselves available if needed. We all highly recommend this cabin. Please know that it is about 45 minutes from Anchorage next to a ski resort in a very quiet small community.

A Cabin Getaway

This was a great little get away spot. We spent 5 days there and unfortunately spent more time inside than we had hoped due to rain preventing us from getting out and skiing. The cabin, albeit small, was comfortable and well-equipped. Lynne was responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Spring break

Wonderful stay! Can't say enough good about the property and the hosts! Lynne and Patrick were friendly and wonderful to deal with. They even found some sleds for us to use! Placer cabin is wonderful and the kitchen and all amenities worked well and as designed. We had three boys ages 7, 11,13 and we all had a great time. Highly recommend.

Fall tour of AK

We booked the cabin as a stopover on our drive from Denali to Seward. The cabin is set in a peaceful location and had all the needs of home. The host greeted us after check in and gave us a great dinner recommendation which both of us ended up at and it was delicious - Spoonline Bistro. Our second night we cooked in and found everything we needed for a home cooked meal after a brief stop to the local grocery store. The cabin is located in a beautiful mountain range if you are a skier and a short distance to Portage Glacier and Whittier.
