This was the perfect mini spring break getaway for our family. It was wonderful to enjoy some secluded time together while keeping our children entertained. We loved the hot tubs, fishing, canoeing, the scenery, and the cows were a big bonus for our kiddos! The hosts were extremely welcoming and very responsive throughout our entire stay. We would definitely return again and this will be a memorable mini vacation for our family!
Great stay! There was great communication between the host and I. They were very fast to respond and very accommodating. Their property was great. Short walk to the river. Short drive to Massanutten and grocery stores. Would definitely recommend.
Check in was great, this area is absolutly beautiful! The river is nice and easy. Loved going out on the canoe and visiting Shenandoa National Park. Loved the old farms and the old time feel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect and the farm was so much fun. We loved getting back to some peace and quiet. This is a phenomenal house and was a picture perfect stay.
Lovely property. We enjoyed the morning sunrises over the pasture! Great location- close to skyline drive and the caverns but far enough away for peaceful relaxation. Check in was easy and accommodations were great. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed our stay! Great location! Quite & relaxing time! We enjoyed the hot tub and had a great time finishing on the river. Our only suggestion would be to put a picnic table down at the river for guests to enjoy.
We had a great time staying here. It was close to many of the things we wanted to do and very peaceful (except for the train activity across the river). The dock had been wiped out by river flooding (our host was very apologetic and informed us that a new one was in the works for future guests) but was still able to enjoy the river. The walk to the river is not far, however it is on a slight incline through the cow pasture so be prepared. The house had just about everything you would need to make your stay a good one. We traveled with 7 people and not one complaint!!
Great spot to gather with friends. Grilling, campfires, and canoeing. We were able to sleep 4 adults and 4 kids (9, 11, 11, 16) comfortably. Easy access to Shenandoah. Surrounded by beautiful and peaceful farmland. Short walk to the water's edge. Host was very accomodating and solved a couple small issues promptly.

Everything was good . But the mattress needs to be changed for all the bunk beds .
I was looking for a spot to relax and recharge so the quiet farm setting was the prescription I needed. Seeing cows and Mr. Donkey made me smile every morning.
The river house was the perfect setting to kick off spring break for our kids. We brough our dogs who were as happy as could be chasing balls through the yard and watching the cows in the pasture. My husband and kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and taking a trip down the river in the canoe. And we all enjoyed evenings soaking in the hottub. So much beauty to soak in throughout the valley and this location was absolutely delightful. Thank you for letting us stay!
Great location. DARK at night. Secluded. Comfortable house. The one bath is in the first level, so if you have to use the bathroom at night you have to walk down some steep steps. Otherwise, good property. I’d definitely stay there again. Property manager was very nice and helpful.
Right on the Shenandoah. Beautiful Scenery. Relaxing time on the river, and Covered Porch.
Good early Morning Coffee Views in all directions. Close to town, although doesn’t feel like it. Host Scot very responsive and helpful. Will be back. Definitely recommend!

Quiet get-away house
This house was well cared for, very clean & creatively decorated. It had a nice homey feel with many nice touches such as 2 covered porches (perfect for any day, but especially when it rains), loads of historic paintings, drawings, etc of George Washington, Lafayette, Thomas Jefferson & other founding fathers. A very nice private hot tub, great view of the Shenandoah River & cows coming right up to the fence. We really liked this setting in the small town of Shenandoah on a 200 acres farm. Very private. You won't be disappointed.

We do take pride in the house and how its furnished. So happy that you enjoyed it!
We were looking for a few quiet, relaxing days, and that was exactly what we got. The property is rustic and simple, with a beautiful view of the Shenandoah river. The property is well kept, with a grill, fire pit and hot tub. The decor is beautiful antique. We greatly enjoyed relaxing in the sitting room, talking and reading. I walked around the house and used Google lens to identify the portraiture throughout the house; very interesting! The swift run gap entrance to skyline drive is right up the road, making for an easy trip to hike and see waterfalls. It's far enough out from big cities that the night sky was magnificent. Definitely keeping this one for future visits.

Awsome place in a great location
My wife and I got the family together(including the dog) for my fiftieth birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
Started our vacation with beers by the fire pit. Went to bed in surprisingly large bedrooms with very comfortable beds.
Woke up in the morning, had breakfast in the well equipped kitchen and walked down to the river for a little fishing.
Cleaned up, hit some attractions that were a short drive away, and repeat. Who could ask for more.
The House was clean, well furnished and nicely decorated, didn't get to use the hot tub, maybe next time and there will definitely be a next time.
Thank you, my family and I really had a enjoyable and memorable time.
Thanks, Bob

Lovely Home
We enjoyed the serene landscape surrounding the home and we were supplied with most everything we needed. The decor is charming!
We never could find the little path to the river that is shown in one of the photos. All we saw was a large uncut field and when we walked up to the river there was a 2-3 foot drop-off. Even if it hadn't been raining we weren't sure how we would have gotten the canoe down to the water. The only docks we found belonged to other homes. Might want to include a sketch of where to go for river access for future guests.
Thanks

We are glad to hear you enjoyed the place. Some times between mowing it is hard to find the path.
Are plan for 2016 is to mark it better and build a new dock that is easy to find. A sketch is a fabulous idea.
We loved our anniversary trip at Soct’s home! Very comfortable home, everything was as stated. Scot was very accommodating and responsive. Beautiful home, very comfortable bed, lovely area, we plan to visit again! Enjoyed the cows coming to visit also! Thank you!
This was a beautiful property. Great history and peaceful. The view was superb and I can tell this would be great for a destination wedding or family reunion
