Leilani Cottage - Meredith Lodging

Custom built 2019 riverfront cabin crafted by 3rd generation family members to continue the memories made here for decades. You will create life-long memories, too, whether relaxing by the river or in the hot tub or reclining in the great room with a good book and a glass of wine. The gourmet kitchen includes a gas cooktop, top-of-the-line cookware and all of the extras you need to prepare a fabulous meal. Grill out on the gas BBQ on the riverside deck year-round.

Your dogs are welcome to join you here and they will love playing on the sandy beach by the river or taking walks on the gated, dead-end road. You will be close to dozens of miles of hiking and biking trails just minutes from the front door. Or just take a quiet, leisurely walk down the road. There are other cabins on the lane, but with the trees, you will feel a sense of seclusion while at Leilani Cottage.

Leilani Cottage is best suited for a romantic retreat to Mt Hood with the primary suite including the king bed topped with a 2-inch thick faux-feather bed and the en-suite bathroom with tiled walk-in shower and rain shower head.

The home was amazing and perfect for us! The hot tub was really nice, however, the temperature never went above 99 and didn’t seem to warm up, but it was still relaxing. The charging ports in the bedside lamps was great, since we forgot a charging brick. The river was beautiful and we enjoyed the sounds of the rushing water. We were unable to locate the garbage bins for this home, so we set the bag of garbage next to the trash can, as we didn’t want to leave it out front with the chance of a bear being attracted to it.There was plenty of seating inside and out, as well as two chairs near the fire pit, close to the river. The home had streaming services and an AppleTV, so we were able to watch our own purchased movies as well. We were provided soaps, shampoo and conditioner, as well as plenty of towels for our stay. Will definitely be back to this property in the future!

The cottage is even better than it appears in the listing! It was cool, quiet, comfortable and supplied everything we needed and more. It is filled with beautiful rugs, and yes, there is a couch! We spent most of the days playing in the river - just a minute walk down from the porch! And the evenings in the hot tub and at the fire pit. It was so relaxing. There are neighbors on either side, yet it felt totally private. We all had an amazing time and were sad to leave after 3 days. My family is already storing our time there in our memories as one of our favorite vacations together, and we all cannot wait to go back. My 8 year old and I have missed the forest and river daily since going back home to our more suburban neighborhood! I am thankful to have found this lovely getaway so close to home, and we can't wait to go back again. It is just off the freeway, and close to restaurants and a beautiful market. (5 min by car) So, even though we felt like we were in the woods, everything we needed was nearby.

Cute cabin in the woods

I came to the property to relax for the weekend and work on writing a book. The location of the house being so close to the Sandy river was awesome! I really enjoyed it and would stay here again.

Cabin getaway

Our stay was very nice, there was only one hiccup where the hot tub was not at temp and we messaged the rental number and someone was there within hours to fix it which we appreciated.

much needed getaway

We appreciated the calming color palette that brought the outside into the cottage. Even though there are neighbors some distance away, we felt that privacy we were hoping for. We would look forward to another stay.

Beautiful home in the forest along side a calm peaceful river.

What a wonderful property. I loved all of the windows, it was as if nature wrapped its arms around you. The peaceful sound of the river took my mind off the hustle and bustle of the city life, and the hot tub was the icing on the cake.

Lovely place

My daughter and her fiancé stayed here for 2 nights... a Christmas present from me. They said it was wonderful. They commented on how nice the bed was, and how much they enjoyed the hot tub. They also enjoyed hiking along the river. After their experience, I would like to stay there with my husband.

Smoke on the Water

Smoke from the wildfire punctuated our stay. House was excellent, just our size. Neighbors were loud and broke fire ban which made it worse.

No Quiet

We were terribly disappointed that the very close neighbors (next door) were sawing trees and running wood through a chipper all day long. Both days. The house is lovely but it was hard to enjoy it.

Disappointing stay: Broken amenities, poor cleanliness, and invasion of privacy.

When we arrived, the hot tub panel was off and had an error code. We immediately contacted Meredith Lodging, who said they would contact someone to fix it. Despite multiple follow-ups over several days, no one ever showed up. This was especially frustrating because the hot tub was the main reason we chose this property over others in the area.On the first night, we found our sheets covered in both dog and human hair. It was clear they were either not washed or poorly cleaned, despite using commercial laundering. There were no extra sheets in the cabin, so we had to vacuum the bed and reluctantly sleep on them the first night. It felt really gross to sleep in them. The next morning, we washed the sheets ourselves and informed Meredith Lodging. They offered to send fresh sheets, but since we had already cleaned them, we declined.When we left to get groceries, Meredith Lodging sent a housemaid anyway who had entered the property without our permission. While there, they moved our personal belongings, which felt like an invasion of privacy. We had never authorized anyone to enter the property. They did bring us fresh sheets, however.We were very disappointed by the lack of working amenities, cleanliness, and respect for privacy. This experience left us feeling frustrated, disheartened and like we didn't get our monies worth (we spent 1000).Unfortunately, we will not be trying Meredith Lodging again.

We had a storm while we were there, and power was out for 2 full days. There is a generator, but that doesn't help with internet. Unfortunately I still had to work. This wasn't a vacation. As long as you are ok with that risk, it's a great place!
