Very nice property in the woods. 5 minutes from downtown Breck. Beautiful views. We enjoyed the gas fire pit on the deck and the hot tub. Hope to return!
The house was great for what we needed! It has the Colorado cabin feel and had most of the things we needed. The only things we were missing were some kitchen items for cooking meals, but we made do.
The four bedroom house worked very well for our group of 6 - 2 couples, 2 singles (and 2 dogs). Very quiet considering how close to the highway and 10 minutes to main street. Great hot tub and outdoor deck! Would stay again.
The kitchen was well stocked with everything that you would need! Location was perfect for our needs. Loved the hot tub!

We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Great Western Lodging! We'd love to host you again for your next mountain adventure, just give our reservations team a call and we'll make it happen!
This house was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway with my elderly parents and teenage son (and his friends). The teens pitched tents and enjoyed the great outdoors, while the rest of us enjoyed indoor plumbing, cable, and heat.

Great for what we needed
This is clearly a pet and kid friendly home. It didn’t feel especially clean but the location was amazing and my kids had a blast.
My daughter got married and we rented this place for my whole family. It was perfect, had 2 bedrooms and bath on 2nd floor, first floor bedroom/bathroom for my 84 year old mother. basement had it's own 1/2 bath, bedroom and a game room. Perfect so that every family had their own area. loved the area/trees/view.

Satisfied with property
We chose this location because of the proximity to Breckenridge and the privacy of the secluded area. The property was just as described. The only thing I wish that they would have done was remove snow on the deck and entrance to house. We were comfortable with the wood-burning stove. We did use almost all the wood in the four days that we were there and could not find the metal trashcan to put the ashes in. I did contact them and it took them a couple days to get one to us. All in all we were happy with the property
House is dated, but it’s a great location. It needs some work, such as the heater doesn’t work in one room and the lights in another. Called to the office to get it fixed but no one ever came. In addition the book lists things that shld be available such as firestarter logs, and none of that was available. Beds are pretty worn out as well, queen bed leans down and needed a pillow to sleep and prop it up, and the singles sink on the middle. But, for the price it’s a good deal and the perfect location.
I was debating between a 4-5 star rating. The property didn’t seem super clean but it also wasn’t awful. They provided a ton of linens and towels, but no cleaning spray to clean up after cooking etc. The heater was not working when we got there in most of the house and downstairs the lights wouldn’t come on except in bathroom. We had to call maintenance twice but after a few hours they came and fixed the heat and light. 2 of the beds were broken when we checked in, but luckily they had comfy couches so we made it work. They had fire starters but no lighter so we got one and left it for the next people. It was A nice layout and area close to Breck, def not in walking distance of a shuttle. We did like the privacy and quietness. It’s a cost friendly property and doable.

Thanks for your review. Your comments are valuable to us as we strive to improve. We're glad to hear you found the layout and location enjoyable. We hope to host you again in the future.
We had high expectations for this property based on the listing and price, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. While the space has potential, the lack of basic maintenance and responsiveness from the property manager made our stay frustrating. No cleaning supplies were provided, so we had to purchase our own to wipe down the counters and do laundry.Extremely sensitive smoke and carbon monoxide detectors went off daily, even from basic cooking like using the toaster. The designated shoe area upstairs was unsafe—we had a pair of shoes melt from the heat. The deck was completely unusable due to snow buildup, and no shovel was provided. The driveway and entrance were dangerously slippery, with no salt or shovel available—multiple near falls could have been avoided with basic upkeep. Some furniture was broken, making it difficult to use parts of the space as intended. We contacted the property manager about these issues, but our concerns were dismissed with little to no effort to address them. For the premium price of this rental, we expected far better. If this were a budget-friendly VRBO, we would have been more understanding, but given how this property was marketed, it was a major letdown.Until significant improvements are made, we can’t recommend this property, especially in winter.

Good gathering space, insufficient heat though
Overall, we made the best of the place. I agree with prior reviews regarding lack of sufficient heating in winter and too much pet hair. We don't have pets and our kids returned home with pet hair all over their clothes. There are plenty of blankets and throws, but I am not sure they get washed routinely like the bed and towel linens. Overall the place was sufficiently clean. For winter stays though, the wood stove is essential! Please indicate on the description. We arrived at the 4pm check-in, which is near sunset. Because the heat was turned low prior to check-in, the house did not get comfortably warm the first night. The heat in the main level bedroom and bathroom did not operate. The space heater in the basement rec room is insufficient; we could see our breath. We struggled for 1hour to start the wood stove fire. With the late check-in of 4pm and trying to settle in and get dinner the additional work to get the fire going made the experience quite demanding and very cold. The host instructions read that lighters, fire starter and dry wood should all be ready inside. However this was not the case for us. There was no fire starter (and when we did travel out to local stores they were sold out). All provided, chopped wood was outside under snow. When we brought the wood inside it was wet slowing our ability to start a fire. Also there was no metal tin to place ashes the next day.I also shared this feedback when we checked out. Disappointing given the price for rent!
