Great location
Lovely spacious accommodation providing the perfect large family venue within easy walking distance of Omaha Beach, the American military cemetery and the Overlord museum whilst being at the quieter end of Omaha. Also great enclosed grounds to provide secure play for our grandchild. Great selection of resturants at nearby Port Bessin and only 30 mins from Bayeux. Great base to explore the Normandy beaches and historic sights.

Perfect French Farm House!
Omaha Cottage is beyond lovely! We were 7 adults ranging in age from 25 to 84 and everyone was smitten. The kitchen is well equipped and worked great for a family dinner each evening. The living room was warm and cozy for after dinner games (and the occasional fire), bedrooms were comfortable and pretty. The garden/yard was perfection. Roses climbing the walls, fresh herbs to snip for meals. It was put to good use each evening with games of boule. We have stayed in many HomeAway digs (England, France, Italy) and this was my favorite. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay in a fascinating part of Normandy. Ideal location for sampling some amazing history.
The Property was really comfortable, with everything we needed on hand. A lovely welcome from Christelle who made sure we settled in, as well as comprehensive instructions for the house and the appliances. The heating was just right and the beds comfortable. We visited the Invasion beaches, Honfleur and Bayeux during our week as well as walking Omaha beach. Golf at Omaha Beach club is very enjoyable- though a tough course to play in the winds we had on the first time we played it. If you want to cook, there’s some wonderful fresh fish and shellfish available from the quay at Port en Bessin. Mme. Bonnet was very helpful with information and always responded promptly to emails. Everyone in our group loved this property and voted it the best we’ve stayed in during our visits to France over the last ten years.

beatiful property, well furnished with a garden well suited to our grandchildren. and within easy
We all enjoyed the house and garden very much ( age range 3 to 79 ). Easy reach of the glorious beach, museums , shopping and restaurants. Weather was a bit disappointing. Although the finances worked out fine in the end, it is tiresome to have to retain 600 euros as a deposit until departure and then have to change it back into £ on return to UK. This is not a requirement we have come across anywhere else. Although we did not particularly mind paying a cleaning charge we were unaware that there would be such a charge until we were leaving and had already spent some time clearing up ourselves..

Authentic French country home
We enjoyed our week at this lovely French stone house. The property is in the same village as the American WWII cemetery. There is a large eat-in kitchen and a comfortable living room with a fireplace. The gardens are a delight. We had most of our happy hours in the garden and enjoyed picking fresh herbs for our dinners. Thanks for allowing us to use your beautiful home.

Amazing property with every amenity. Located near Omaha Beach and close to Normandy DD sites.
This house is amazing. The owner has it decorated beautifully with every possible amenity-dishwasher; washing machine; new bathrooms, electrical outlets everywhere. Mr. Bonnet answers emails immediately and I peppered him with questions! We were met by Christialle at the house who keeps it SPOTLESS. The linens and towels were new and fresh. The house was immaculate. The four bedrooms were comfortable. The back yard is walled. It is huge, and we spent most nights eating outside, grilling several nights with the grill that was provided. We booked through HomeAway, so unlike other reviews, all the money passed through home away. We provided a security deposit of $650 that was returned when we left. We did pay the $60 cleaning fee as we felt that was a bargain! The house is really big, with two rooms downstairs, the large kitchen and the large living room. There were even games provided. (Scrabble French version was quite fun!). Finding it was a little tricky, but the directions provided by Mr. Bonnet were appropriate; we just didn't follow them well. There is a tiny café open in the afternoons for lunch; otherwise shopping has to be done in Port En Bessin, about a 10 minute drive away to the Super U, which has everything one needs. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this house was to our two families, eight adults. There is even a crib for a child! Bayeau is only about minutes away. From this house we drove to Mont St. Michel (1.5 hours), Cherbourg (about an hour), Honfleur (a little over an hour), Caen (about half hour) and countless other abbeys and chateaus that dot the Normandy countryside. There are multiple fermes selling local cidre, pommeau, and calvados. They are all wonderful and worth trying. There was enough in the area to engage the folks in their 70s, in their 40s, and in their 20s! It is a fantastic site.

Mooie ruime woning

Fijn verblijf in ruime, aangename woning

A very pleasant holiday property
Our family of 6 adults and 2 infants really enjoyed our recent stay in Omaha Cottage. The property is lovely and spacious and the extensive garden perfect for children to play safely. It is an ideal location for the nearby beaches and has many other places of interest nearby.

Sweet Memories
We spent 12 days at the Omaha Cottage and out of a month in different parts of England and France, this was our favorite place by far. Colleville Sur Mer the town feels like a picture straight out of a WWII era book and is a slow paced and quiet. From the house to Omaha Beach it's actually 1 mile (I went running with a gps watch), but it's a beautiful 1 mile. It's also close to the Normandy US War memorial cemetery. The home itself is beautiful, definitely not in a neo-contemporary style, but if you're looking for a home that will transport you back in time and give you a feel for what it must have been like to live in a pre-1950's era, this home wonderfully transports you back in time. It has a washing machine, but not a dryer, a small television, a dishwasher and a fridge. Otherwise, everything else feels historic. My wife and I have five children and the yard was perfect. It's all private- both front and back and is large and beautiful, making for fun times playing capture the flag and other games with the kids. It is my pleasure to give the Omaha Cottage a 5 star review and if I ever get the chance to return to Normandy, I would definitely heavily consider staying here again. Also, Christelle the lady that is the property manager was wonderful. She is very kind. Note that she doesn't speak any English, but her son Simon usually accompanies and speaks English quite well. Thanks to the Bonnets (the owners) for renting their home to us, it along with the area truly has created memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives. A couple of notes- 1. We are from the U.S., when the owner didn't accept payment through VRBO/Homeaway and wanted us to do an international wire for the deposit, I was nervous about this. However, did it anyway, hoping for the best. It worked out great and Claude the owner was great to work with. We paid the rest in Cash when we arrived and everything worked out swell. 2. Google maps does not know about Rue de Anquetil (the street this home is on) in Colleville Sur Mer, so it automatically re-routes you to another Rue De Anquetil in a town about 10 miles away. If you're using GPS, then go to Colleville Sur Mer and when heading east, look for the church (every town has one with a bell tower) and then about 400 meters past that, there is a small street sign for "Rue de Anquetil". The home is then immediately on the left and says "Omaha Cottage" in lettering on the entrance gate to the property.

Great cottage, great location!
We spent 7 days at the Omaha Cottage and fell in love with it and the location. We were able to walk to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery from the cottage. We visited Utah Beach and the museum. Excellent! Arromanches and the 360 Cinema were just a few kilometers away and were well worth the visit. We also visited Bayeux and its beautiful cathedral, the incredible Mont-Saint-Michel and took the train to Paris for a day! And most important, we traced our father's journey from Utah Beach to Aachen, Germany where he was captured in World War II. An incredible week and a wonderful place to call home while we were there. Thanks!!!!

A very pleasant cottage in a great location.
A great location for visiting the Normandy D Day sites as well as other towns, including Bayeux, Honfleur, Caen, Mt. Ste. Michel. Well equipped kitchen and a lovely garden. Can easily accommodate 8 with plenty of large rooms and space. In an area with a number of interesting castles and chateaus, cider farms and calvados distilleries. Highly recommend for those wanting a relaxed, quiet vacation but with plenty of variety in things to do.

Wonderful Cottage, Excellent Location
Charming, spacious Norman home on about 2 acres of well-kept land. Well-appointed furnishings throughout, large bedrooms, clean bathrooms, large and well-equipped country kitchen, and a lovely garden in which to relax. Located in a hamlet about a 1/2 mile walk from Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery. 15 minute drive to Bayeux (celebrated tapestry), 20-30 minute drive to other D-Day sites (Pointe du Hoc, Arromanches) and a day trip to and from Mont St.-Michel. A perfect location to relax and from which to visit all of lower Normandy. Owner is helpful and responsive. We were a family of six adults, had plenty of privacy and space, and would not hesitate to stay at the property again.
