Situated on a wooded, private lot on the Otter Rock shoreline, with close by beach access. Inside, beautiful furnishings, hardwood and tile floors, and the light from huge windows and skylights will immerse you in beauty and comfort. Spiral staircases join three floors of spacious rooms, and multiple decks give you views to the ocean and the Yaquina lighthouse. Gathering places include a living room, separate dining area, upstairs loft living area, lower-level family and game room. The six bedrooms and separate sleeping area in the family room mean you can invite family and friends while assuring everyone privacy. Follow the wooden steps through the private beach pathway to find your access to Otter Rock beach! The beach at Otter Rock is a prime, protected surfing area and a great place to sunbathe and beach-comb, and it is conveniently located between Lincoln City and Newport, giving you easy access to attractions in both cities. You'll enjoy spectacular views and a home designed to restore you with the serene, thoughtful way it maximizes its gorgeous location.

The house was great I only made one trip to the beach it was a little too steep and too many steps for me but overall it was great we bounce back and forth between Lincoln City and Newport

Size of home was perfect

Fun layout with many levels and rooms. We had very limited view of ocean and access to beach was not possible for seniors or anyone with disabilities. Adult kids were disappointed there were no foosball balls. The hot tub was nice.

This property is even more gorgeous in person. Beautiful trees and greenery surrounding the house, a beautiful walkway to the beach, great hot tub, beautiful kitchen. Has character; not a stale boring type of place. Was perfect for a weekend away with friends

AMAZING Place for kids

The location , size of the house, etc. are unbeatable. We were very pleasantly surprised that the house had 4 quality baby gates, a high chair, booster seat, etc. it really helped us making sure everything was safe for the little kids.

Magical and tranquil beach location

We loved this property, it was spacious, if a little worn in places and well equipped. The location was perfect, off the main road and within easy access of Newport and Depoe Bay. We ran out of barbecue gas and that was swiftly replaced. Highly recommend this property for mixed age groups like ours as each had their own areas but also had ample places to mingle.

Private beutiful stay

Beautiful property and very spacious for our group of 9. Private trail to the beach, you do have to use a rope at the end for about an eight foot drop but we got up and down easily. Foosball was a nice add. Had a couple of issues that they responded to immediately. Also brought us two bottles of wine for the hassle. Awsome relaxing stay!

This house is in a gem and perfect for groups

This house was a perfect home base for our stay in Otter Rock. The check in process was smooth, there’s plenty place of space to entertain and sleep, the property is beautiful, and the walk down to the beach is stunning. We found ourselves spending more time on the property than expected because we were so comfortable and it had everything we needed for group meals. Additional highlights were: sunset walks and surfs down at the really good surf beach in Otter Rock, a seafood dinner out in Newport at Local Ocean, great space out back to hang out, and the lush forest surrounding. Highly recommend and hope to return.

Nice spot

Great location. The place was nice, a touch dated especially upstairs. It's run by a management company. They did a good job communicating. The oven was malfunctioning while we were there. We let them know and they had someone out, but it was after we had checked out.

Big House

The house was large enough for the 3 families that stayed. The property management company Meredith Lodging emailed me the day prior to our stay that the beach access from the property was closed due to a sink hole they said they were checking with neighbors to see if we would use theirs. I emailed them twice after with no reply until the last day of our stay apologizing with information on where to access the beach. The house has several water leaks from the roof and the room we were staying in had wet walls from the leaks. There was trash from the prior renters under the beds.

Maintenance needed

This is a beautiful home that can accommodate large groups, but it is in need of serious maintenance and upkeep. Not all of the amenities were in working order when we were there, the bathrooms were not properly stocked, and we had to finish the load of towels in order for all of the guests to shower. There were several other issues including having a bat come in the house one night, not being able to use the ceiling fan or hot tub, and a staircase that was a major tripping hazard due to the way the stairs were made and an area rug that curled up so bad, three of us tripped on it so we removed it while we were there and put it back when we left. Once the house is maintained and everything is in working order, the house would be great to stay in again.

Memorial

We rented this property to get together with family to have a memorial for our Mom and Aunt. The house is beautiful and very big. We had a beautiful ash spreading event at Beverly Beach and really enjoyed our time together at the house. The house says it’ll sleep 14 but that will depend on the sleeping arrangements. If you put 2 people in each bed you can sleep 14. Only one of the couches is a pull out bed which was sort of surprising

Disappointing visit

The house has many bedrooms & the long stairs & path to the beach are in good condition. Those are the only positives about this property The house is in poor condition. The oven door wouldn’t stay closed, the dishwasher smells, the screen door didn’t work, blinds were broken, etc. the house is poorly equipped. I would not recommend this property.

We had a group of 13 ladies that came to the coast to go fishing. The house was the perfect location to get to the marina early in the morning. We loved the location next to Otter Rock where we walked down the beach to the winery. The house was a great size for a large group. We enjoyed having a large kitchen for doing a crab boil after our day of fishing and crabbing. The walk to the beach was beautiful and we loved having a spot to ourselves. Climbing back up to the house was great exercise. We made use of the hot tub, which was great for relaxing. There were a few things about the house to mention. The beds are more full than queen size, so keep that in mind when pairing up. The bedrooms upstairs have slanted ceiling so not especially easy for tall people. The stove knobs are on the front and on several occasions the stove top got turned on buy someone brushing by the knobs. We ended up just taking them off. The ice make is not very good, so make sure you bring ice otherwise the fridge and freezer worked great. Last and certainly not least, don't leave any doors or windows open. We ended up with a bat visiting us inside the house. All in all a great weekend!

Bat Cave

Beware! This house has bats! They come in through the gap where the stovepipe meets the ceiling. We were watching a movie in the living room when all of the sudden a bat was flying overhead. After a chaotic scramble we left the door open and it flew out. We shut the door thinking it was a one time occurrence. But as we slept they returned. Imagine getting up to use the bathroom to find a bat flying in circles in the hallway. Everyone was afraid to leave their rooms. In the morning a bat was up in the corner of the living room ceiling. I would NOT consider staying here until they have proof that a professional has taken care of the problem. This obviously was not a first occurrence as bats go back to the same place to roost. Bats carry many deceases. I had 4 grandchildren there all under 4 years. They offered me a (laughable)100 credit on a future rental. Not going to happen. They did not provide a safe and comfortable environment.

Perfect Location but some things left to be desired

Pros: perfect location, quiet, secluded, short hike on private path to beach (short but many steps and some steep inclines), 6 bedrooms plus sleeper sofa, lots of sunlight in the house Cons: -The house is not maintained and was not properly cleaned before we arrived. We had to rewash utensils and plates as they had dried food stuck on them. -We were told the hot tub was broken and not available to use two days before our arrival and it was never fixed -There was chewed gum on the windowsill when we arrived. -The upstairs bathroom smelled of mildew. I asked for a new shower curtain liner and was told it would be delivered by housekeeping and that never happened -Kitchen: There was no functional can opener so we bought our own. Oven door does not close and beeps non stop when in use. -Screen door on back porch is broken and would come off the track -Ceiling fan not working which was a little painful during the hot sunny afternoons We have rented several times through VRBO and Meredith Lodging and we were pretty disappointed in the cleanliness and maintenance in the home. Someone is skimping on services and it shows. The fact that that hot tub was not usable was incredibly disappointing and the management offered no compensation for it. Given the price point for this house for a week long stay I would have expected better. We’ve had excellent experiences with other Meredith Lodging home rentals.
