I'm glad you experienced the spacious Fortune Ridge home in Iron River, within Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. After we received your review, we reached out to you. I appreciate you taking our call to discuss with Andrew what made you feel the house was dated. I heard the kitchen sink was your primary concern. Also, you found it would have been ideal if the dishes/silverware matched and updated. Plus, the living room couches have captured too many hours of relaxing vibes. While the home is rustic and timeless by design, we appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback, so that we may make the property even more comfortable for future guests. I agree — the location and peacefulness of Crystal Falls along Second Lake are truly ideal! We’re glad you were able to enjoy that beauty during your stay. We always do our best to offer fun and meaningful ways for families to stay engaged, and we appreciate you sharing your experience. Thank you for your feedback about the beds. You’re the first guest to mention this, but we’ve made a note so we can keep an eye on it moving forward. I’m sorry the downstairs fireplace wasn’t working for you during your visit. It is working now. I know it can feel disruptive to reach out while you’re on vacation, but if we had known, we would have happily helped—either by walking you through it over the phone or by sending someone out right away to get it going for you. The same goes for the wine opener. If the one provided was broken, we would have gladly brought another to you. Regarding the interior doors, all of the doors that are designed to have locks do lock; however, the bedroom doors do not have locks, and we’re sorry if that was an inconvenience during your stay. While I’m sorry you didn’t feel the full value during this stay, you were wonderful guests, and we truly hope you’ll give us another opportunity to wow you in the future.
