The hosts were absolutely amazing! They were very responsive, super friendly, very available. They had the frig stocked with milk and had a lovely bottle of wine for us, as well as Nespresso coffee cartridges. Kitchen is super-well equipped. They lent us shovels to go to Hot Water Beach. Just amazing people. The house itself is fine, but rather nostalgic. If you loved visiting your grandmas beach house, this is the place for you, but with a great big screen TV, and solid WiFi. The pictures of the house might have been airbrushed a bit, so be aware that the hosts are really kind, sweet, wonderful owners, but also the corporate management company that is selling the property is doing so with embellished photography. The location is fantastic, although Thames tends to roll-up the sidewalks somewhat early during winter, and many local establishments are closed in the winter, and especially on Sundays and Mondays. But once again, please know that the hosts, Jill & Clive, are amazing!

Lovely place to stay. Nice homely house. Warm & inviting. Convenient place for my friends & I to head up to the pinnacles. Extra shower & toilet definitely came in handy with a big group.
Jill was an amazing host, popped in to say hi, available to answer questions, and was really helpful. She even made us scones for half time, while we watched the All Blacks game! (So yummy!)
I'd definitely come an stay again.

5 min to Thames, less than 1 1/2 hours to Auckland airport, handy to all locations on the Coromandel Peninsular.Would have given 5 stars for everything except for the fact that the kitchen and dining area is 1 1/2 steps down from the rest of the house. Yes there are hand rails but still awkward for someone with a walking stick and very difficult with a wheel chair or walker.

Thank you, John. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the beachfront location and found the property convenient for exploring the Coromandel Peninsula. We appreciate your feedback regarding the kitchen and dining area layout, and we understand how this could be a challenge for those with mobility concerns. Your comments will be helpful for future guests, and we’ll be sure to pass them along. We’d love to host you again for another stay.

Stayed 4 nights. Accommodation looked attractive with good quality furniture. Lounge area had too much furniture. Looked cluttered. Large mats that you could easily trip up and fall if elderly. Vacuuming had not been done. Refrigerator not cleaned. Food left in refrigerator by previous occupant.Did not show us around the accommodation as is usually done. Large television that we could not use as had complicated written instructions. Duvets on bed not cleaned or replaced. Owners pleasant to speak with. Anne L.

Hello Anne, thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay, and the surrounds of the property. The host of the property informs us that they were present to show you around the property and demonstrate how to use the amenities and wifi. Despite the fact you had been two days late for check in, the host had made themselves available for you and offered you two complimentary nights for the ones you missed. We are confident in the cleanliness of the property including the duvets, vacuuming and state of Fridge. The large mats are secured to the floor using industrial tape, and the host was right next door to assist with the TV if required. If you book with us again, please be advised that you are welcome to call our guest services team to assist with any in stay issues 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
