CasaColo is a spacious mountain retreat designed for large families and groups who want to cook, gather, and enjoy time together in one place.
Located in a quiet Fraser neighborhood with Rocky Mountain views, this recently renovated 11-bedroom home offers multiple large living areas, a dual-sided fireplace, and plenty of space for guests of all ages to spread out and relax.
The main level features an open floor plan with a well-stocked kitchen flowing into the primary living room. Downstairs, you'll find a second entertainment area with a bar, pool table / ping-pong table, and kitchenette — ideal for multi-family stays.
Outside, enjoy multiple balconies, a grill, two hot tubs, and a back patio, while wildlife is often seen passing through the neighborhood. High-speed 400 MB internet and 50"–70" 4K Roku TVs are available in all living spaces and bedrooms.
Please note: Casa Colo is a large, well-maintained mountain home designed for groups who value space, practicality, and affordability over boutique luxury.
While the home has been thoughtfully remodeled and includes extensive amenities and backups (multiple hot tubs, washers, dryers, refrigerators, and mechanical systems), it is an older house. With that scale comes occasional maintenance needs.
Our approach is simple: redundancy over perfection — if something is temporarily unavailable, there is almost always an alternative available for guest use, and replacements are handled promptly.
Guests who expect a brand-new luxury hotel experience may find this home is not the right fit. Guests who value space, function, and responsiveness consistently have great stays.
Just minutes from Fraser and local dining, shopping, and outdoor activities, Casa Colo is designed to keep large groups comfortable, entertained, and connected.
What to Expect
This is a large, actively maintained home at 8,500 feet. We keep it in great shape, but like any real home (especially at altitude), things occasionally need attention. Here is what that looks like.
Hot Tub. The hot tub is on the back deck and runs around the clock. Hot tubs see heavy use from group after group, and mountain service calls can take one to two weeks to complete. It is fully operational the vast majority of the time, but on occasion it may be down for service during your stay. Add a capful of chlorine to the bobber after each use (supplies are under the deck stairs).
WiFi. Network is "CasaColo." If it drops or is slow, the router in the utility closet may need a quick restart. Mountain internet is not always as consistent as what you are used to at home. If you cannot get it back up, message us and we will walk you through it or send someone.
Refrigerators. The house has multiple fridges for your group. If one is not cooling properly, let us know right away. A quick adjustment usually fixes it, and if not, we will get someone out.
Bears. Same as all mountain properties: bear-proof dumpster, keep lid latched, no bags left outside. April through October is active season.
Altitude. About 8,500 feet. Hydrate, take it easy the first night, and expect mild symptoms for 24 hours.
Check-In. 4:00 PM. Same-day turnovers are common and our crew needs the full window. Thank you for understanding.
Credits & Refunds. We issue credits only for major systems (hot water, heat, access) and only when we cannot resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe during your stay. We do not issue credits for individual amenities when alternatives are available, and we do not process credit requests submitted after checkout. If something significant is affecting your stay, tell us while you are here so we can fix it.
Our Approach. We respond same day when anything comes up. We stock extras of everything (towels, linens, supplies) because we know big groups go through them. We would rather tell you all of this upfront so you can relax and enjoy the stay.

This house is beautiful and ideal for a big gathering. The kitchen had all the required equipment to cook for a big group, the game room downstairs was very entertaining, and our host was able to get something fixed very quickly after we mentioned it. Would stay here again!

We had a great stay! The house itself is really cool and has such a unique feel. One of the best parts was the sleeping setup—having so many king beds made it incredibly comfortable for everyone. The location is perfect too: private and peaceful, but still just a short drive into town.We also loved the activities the house offered. The ping pong and pool tables were a big hit and kept everyone entertained. Overall, a really fun and comfortable place to stay—we’d definitely come back!

We stayed at this property for a two-night weekend with 10 adults and 7 children. The size of the home was a major advantage—it comfortably accommodated our large group, and the 11 bedrooms gave everyone plenty of space to spread out.Unfortunately, the overall condition of the home did not meet our expectations, especially for the price. Many parts of the property appear to be in need of maintenance and repair. Several kitchen cabinet doors were loose or falling off, many of the kitchen utensils and tools were broken or worn out, and one of the bedroom sinks had the hot and cold water connected backwards. One of the biggest disappointments was that the property advertised two hot tubs, but neither one was operational during our stay. This was a significant amenity we were looking forward to and a major reason we chose this home. There were also cleanliness concerns. The carpets appeared dirty, and several bathrooms did not seem to have been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. Additionally, one bathroom door would jam when closed, making it difficult to get out from the inside, which is a safety concern. Some of the mattresses were also extremely firm and uncomfortable. Finally, the checkout process included an unusually long list of cleaning and closing tasks, which felt excessive considering the cleaning fee.

The property is as described in that not a 5 star hotel but good for a large group. Our issue was the lack of heat for half the house for 24 hours despite the handyman's efforts. The redundancy did not work. We did get a small refund but would have rather have heat. Additionally neither hot tub was functional during our stay
Stayed here with a large group and there was enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. Check in/out was straightforward and the house was in great condition. Would stay again!
We were able to house all of our children & grandchildren at this property. Access to the surrounding area was good and there were a lot of thing to do. The accommodations were good, the bed rooms & bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen & dinning areas were large and allowed for us to all eat together & hang out while int he home.

When I was booking the VRBO the host took quite a while to respond and when I had a few questions, the same thing. However, when we were in the house, she was very responsive. On another note, the house was in total disrepair. It felt like a frat house. The temperature was never regulated in any of the rooms. One of the refrigerators never worked (the big one)and there was no ice made in the other. The dishwasher was not bolted in ‘because it was new’. We saw mice twice. One of the bedrooms got locked when pulled shut and there was no key to get in. Strange and scary. Just NOT a nice house.
Especially for the price point, this property proved to be a great place to host 10 adult golfers for a couple of nights! The 11 bedrooms are behind separate doors, so privacy isn't an issue. Many of the bedrooms have multiple beds, so if you don't mind sharing bunk space, there's room for quite a few folks! There's plenty of room for a group to eat. The kitchen has enough pots/pans, plates, silverware, etc. to cook for and feed a large group, too. Having the pool table and other games in the basement makes for a nice apres-golf or apres-ski relaxation place. The group is already talking about next year's golf trip, and we'll be shooting to grab this property again.

Thank you, steven! We're so glad the property worked out well for your golfing group, and that the privacy of separate bedrooms plus the pool table made for a great apres golf hangout. This house is one of our favorites by far! We have been taking large family trips for 16 years, the hosts were super accommodating! It is a bit rustic, but just perfect. The burners on the stove did not get super high with the gas level which made cooking a little difficult but we just used the grill.

Large and did the job but caveats
huge house, accommodated our large group fine. Major bummer that both hot tubs were broken and they tried to fix them but efforts didn't get very far. That was most of the reason we booked the place. Felt like the owner wasn't the most communicative, attempted to get a refund but there was no response. Fun ping pong table and pool table, well-stocked kitchen.
We had a nice time at Casa Colo! There was plenty of room for our group of 15 to spread out and enjoy the space. Kitchen was great and had everything we needed for cooking lsrge meals! There are nice upgrades done to a lot of the areas and the kids enjoyed the game room a lot! Its not a perfect home, and could still use some fixes, but worked for us and would stay here again! Thank you for the hospitality!

When we arrived, we immediately put our food in the big fridge and drinks in smaller one. Later we noticed dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and no soap to wash them. We text owner and maintenance guy responded by text to us. We also realized upon picking bedrooms that bedroom downstairs had no heat at all. When maintenance guy came to give us dishwasher soap he looked at heat in bedroom and told us it hadn’t been working. We just moved the kids to another room upstairs. The next morning when we got up the large fridge with all our food in it was warm. All food in drawers was very warm. We lost yogurt, salads, chocolate milk, hamburger meat orange juice, and few others items. Around 136.00. We immediately moved all food to small fridge and drinks to large fridge. I text maintenance guy around 9am. He said he would get tech to come look at it. Owner has not responded to refund Shower upstairs would not drain. He snaked it and fixed that. Coffee maker leaked and they brought us a new one. There were no towels in several rooms. Brought us some. Only had 3 hand towels for 8 bathrooms. Rest had to use washcloths. Couple bathrooms had little toilet paper. He brought us some. Could not control heaters. Would turn them down and it was still very warm. There is no protection on garbage disposal. So be careful when turn on. Hot tubs do not work and smellFor the positive - it was nice to have so many bedrooms for 16 people. Beds were very comfortable. There was always hot water.
We had a family reunion at the property with 30 people total; 12 adults and 18 children from 4 to 17 yrs. The property was clean and the multiple bedrooms and bathrooms worked out great. A very large kitchen and dining area as well as a game room downstairs worked great. Only a couple of negatives. Each room had a TV, which was great, but the internet bandwidth wasn't nearly enough to support a bunch of teenagers with games and TV. Also, there were two hot tubs (great!) but the water wasn't very clean in either and there was no filter, so it got worse quickly. Probably an oversight and easy to fix. There was some confusion on our part as to the operation of the hot tubs as well. We had a great time and would recommend the property to anyone that needs a lot of bedrooms, baths, etc. Beautiful mountain area. A cow moose and her calf wandered into the field behind the house one evening.
Our group of 15 stayed at Casa Colo to celebrate my parents 40th anniversary. The house gave us plenty of rooms and beds to accommodate all our families. The kids really loved the hot tub. Views from the patio were spectacular. The house itself is rustic and quirky, which added to the fun of the weekend.
Our complaints with the stay were fairly minor: One of the toilets was not flushable when we arrived. Maintenance did arrive to fix it, but did not replace the correct part, so the toilet never ended up being usable for the weekend. Two bathrooms and several towels definitely were not cleaned prior to our arrival, so we took care of that ourselves. There also was someone working on the house for a couple hours after we arrived, which wasn’t really a problem, just made for awkward patio conversation. Our last night, I had a message from the owner telling us it’d make things easier on the cleaners if we planned to leave prior to check out time. I felt that was pretty unprofessional, but chalking it up to someone who hasn’t done this for very long.
Overall we really enjoyed our weekend. The house is spacious and perfect for our large group.
There is so many pros about the space, and a few cons as others have mentioned in their reviews. But overall we had a fabulous time!
Pros:
-So many bedrooms, many being king bed size that just fit a lot of people but also can spread out and not feel cramped.
-several different living room, and a pool table
-8 bathrooms is incredible
-a grill and patio
Cons:
-hot tubs weren't fully working
-ice makers don't work and you're not provided even with ice trays
-low volume and variety of kitchenware
-no shampoo or conditioners in house
-not in perfect cleanliness, especially the exciting steam room having mold
My advice to the owner, is to fix some of the issues that are reoccurring throughout reviews. I completely understand life is expensive and other times you don't know what else they have going on. But small things like even ice trays, more kitchenware from good will even, bulk buys of shampoo/conditioner can really make a difference. I'd also really limit your check out instructions. Vrbo charges a cleaning fee and the long list of items to do before leaving that weren't considered normal just made your last thought of the house frustrating. I've never had to turn a self cleaning oven on before, etc or such an after the fact list of fees that could exist. Even stripping sheets from that many beds is tiresome for the early check out and makes you question what is my cleaning fee being used for. I'd suggest keeping it to the basics, take out trash, dishes, lock door. It's a
