These tiny eco dwellings have been custom built to compliment the principles of “Forest Therapy’ or “Shinrinyoku’ which is a popular practice in Japan. Shinrin means “forest” and yoku means “bath.”

Shinrin-yoku means bathing in the forest atmosphere, or taking in the forest through our senses. It is a researched based therapeutic modality with multi-factorial health benefits including stress reduction and elevating mood; and is impacting the world.

The tiny houses underpin “Qii House’s” philosophy and each is immersed in a forest canopy within the Great Otway National Park; a haven for peace and tranquillity. And yes, they do have some “quirk”, including red cupboards, colourful furnishings, a large pantry, queen day bed with three built in drawers, smeg appliances, a large round “fishbowl” window, double sliding glass doors leading to your own private deck with a large custom built eco bath big enough for two, a hammock, yoga mats and some seating. Beautiful and peaceful

We stayed three nights in one of the tiny houses. The whole time we spent there was relaxing particularly with the outdoor bath being able to look up into the tree canopy. The forest and walk were great. Would really recommend.

Lovely!

My partner and I loved staying in Heather's tiny home. The location is so beautiful and secluded. We particularly loved the outdoor bath! Only negative is the air con - its not very effective, and in summer, we were rather warm! Overall, lovely.

A Little piece of paradise

We really enjoyed our stay at the tiny eco house and loved the peace and tranquility of the surrounding forest. The house was beautifully fitted out and the extra touch of the gifts was very thoughtful. We had a very friendly welcome from our host who always responded promptly when we communicated with her. Would recommend staying at the Tiny eco house if you need a break from the hustle and bustle of life.

While the host was pleasant, reviews were good, and the location was lovely, the stay isn't accurately advertised. The tiny homes are actually on trailers all next to each other in a small area, only just set back from the road, offering little privacy and removing any feeling of seclusion. The "natural humidity" of the room resulted in the walls and floor dripping with water by the morning, making our clothes damp and completely wetting anything touching surfaces in the room. The bed is hard and uncomfortable, you can feel the slats of the bed through the mattress. The worst part however, was the overwhelming smell of burning from the incinerator toilet in the ensuite, which filled the room for hours after using the bathroom, even with exhaust fans on and the door closed. The private deck with the outdoor bath is clearly visible from the shared walk trail and you can see the other stays from the windows of the trailer. We were disappointed to have hired a car and driven down from the CBD while visiting from WA, only to find a damp trailer that filled with the exhaust from the toilet incinerator. Extensive comms and emails with stayz have not resolved these issues, which I believe to be a health hazard. The host is quick to be passive aggressive after my communications with her, explaining very politely our main reason for leaving. After reading her response to poor reviews in the past, we decided it would be more trouble that it's worth for a refund, but hope to warn others.

Thank you for your feedback. qii house offers unique off-grid tiny houses in a pristine rainforest. Like all authentic tiny houses, our cabins are custom-built on trailer chassis to minimize environmental footprint. To optimize a stay, basic eco-living guidelines must be followed. We would like to clarify the facts:Location: Nestled in a dense rainforest canopy, cabins are spaced 30–70m apart to guarantee privacy. The unsealed road has minimal traffic and is hidden from view by the thick forest.Ventilation: In a high-altitude rainforest, managing humidity requires running the exhaust fans and leaving windows cracked. Upon inspection, we found the cabin completely sealed with all windows locked and the heater on maximum. This thermal contrast trapped 100% of shower steam, creating surface condensation. Structural walls, premium linens, and mattresses were completely dry.Incinerator Toilet: We use a certified Cinderella Comfort system that vents all exhaust outside via an external flue. A full post-departure diagnostic check confirmed it operates flawlessly with zero mechanical defects or internal odors.Bed Comfort: Our mattresses feature premium lambswool protectors and extra plush padding for comfort. Mattress firmness remains a personal preference.Communication: You messaged us stating you were comfortable. No issues were brought to our attention until checkout, denying us any opportunity to assist in real-time.We wish you happy travels.
