Nice house for large families. I recommend bringing fans for the upstairs bedrooms in the Summer since the upstairs doesn’t cool well and can be warm. I also recommend bottled waters since the house is on well water and the sulfur content is strong.

Hi Tammy, We’re so glad to hear the home worked well for your group, and we appreciate you pointing out a few things future guests should keep in mind. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We're scheduling an A/C technician to take a look and ensure the system is cooling efficiently, especially upstairs during these extra-hot summer weeks.- The home has a water treatment system designed to reduce the sulfur smell common with well water, and we’ll be checking with the installer to make sure everything is functioning properly. Thanks again for your helpful feedback. We hope you'll keep Seafarer in mind for your next trip!
Quiet, dead end neighborhood just a few miles from stores and food. Plenty of space for 4-5 people with a nice kitchen and living room. Water pressure in the shower was hotel quality. Very clean house.
We had a great experience and Melissa (the host) is very accomodating. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a newly built home with lots to do. Love the fact that the house is on a dead end drive so you have zero traffic on the street. We will definitely be back.
House was clean and well stocked. There is a sort if sulfur smell that comes from faucets upstairs but seemed to go away eventually, guessing the pipes just dont get much use.

Dear Brandon, thank you for your feedback on the sulfur smell from one of the upstairs faucets. This caught us by surprise since none of the other guests had mentioned it. Nevertheless, as a result of your review, we are installing a system that claims to remove these smells from well water so the problem should be solved for future guests. You know what they say about well water: the price of living in paradise! Thanks again and we hope you return and enjoy the peaceful setting, waterfront, kayaks, location, and other amenities at The Seafarer.
Our family had a great stay. This is a new house and is very well stocked. It has a cupboard with spices and good oil and vinegar and another cupboard with coffee, sugar, and creamer. There’s a good selection of pots and pans and plenty of garbage bags, tp, and tissue. It has kayaks, a basketball and hoop, and some good board games. The manager of the property is very responsive and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend this rental, and hope to return soon!
We needed a large home with several bedrooms to accommodate a family group of 3 adult couples, 3 children and a single adult. We were all attending a wedding in the area and there weren’t many homes that met our criteria so we were very happy to find this one. The property manager was very kind, responsive and accommodating and even let us arrive several hours early for check-in. The location was great, super close to Solomon’s Island and to the food and stores in California. Also a very easy drive to Leonardtown. I would definitely recommend it to any other large groups (especially those with small kids) looking to stay together in the area.

House ok, Not Worth the Nightly Rate
Pros:
1. The kitchen was well stocked.
2. The rooms were clean (although the sliding back door was not clean and shower stall doors were very streaked).
3. The dock was nice (but loud traffic noise, see below).
4. The bath towels were nice.
Cons:
1. The house is next to a highway. The traffic noise was extremely loud during the day.
2 The water pressure in the showers was low.
3. There were ants in the bathroom.
4. There were rings in the toilets.
5. There were no overhead lights in the bedrooms.
6. The water is very sulfurous especially in the bathrooms. We ended up bringing in drinking water and water for brushing our teeth.
7. The beds were fine but the bed linens, pillows and curtains were of low quality.
8. The dishwasher very dirty- we cleaned the filter.
9. The boats (it was stated you could rent) were in really bad shape.
Don’t rent this house expecting an idyllic waterfront experience- the traffic is LOUD.
The house is ok, but nowhere near acceptable for the price I paid.
This was our personal experience, I have pictures of everything I’ve written about here.

A Great Stay!
My family and another family (total four adults and five children) LOVED our stay at The Seafarer in California, Maryland. Here are some of the highlights:
First, the house is brand new and shows like a model home. It has all the modern finishes you see in new houses: high ceilings, granite countertops, gas fireplace, a seat in the master shower, upstairs laundry room, etc.
The furnishings are really nice: upgraded bedding, comfy beds, quality furniture, luxury vinyl plank flooring with many oriental rugs. Tastefully done with a nautical theme.
The kitchen deserves special mention because it is fully equipped (we cooked a lot and found everything we needed), and the stainless steel appliances worked perfectly. The granite island has four bar stools and a cute small table seats two more for quick meals in the kitchen, and we served dinner for all nine of us in the formal dining room (we used the extra dining room table leaf so there was plenty of room at the table for all of us). There is even a piano in the dining room and my daughter entertained us after dinner with a sing-a-long.
The game room is in the garage (which also has a pretty view when the door is open), and has a full size pool table, an air hockey table, and a fooseball table. There are also board games in there as well. The grown-ups and the kids really had fun in there. The kids also used the bikes that are in the shed and played basketball.
The setting of the house is very beautiful. Every room has a waterview because the house is on a four acre peninsula that it shares with just one other house. The backyard is right on the water and you can see the dock with two sailboats. We took the four kayaks out in the creek, where it was very calm and lovely. The banks along the creek are high and forested; I felt like I was on a lake in Maine! It was a little too breezy and chilly to venture out into the Patuxent River (in early March), but we look forward to doing that in the summer when we plan to return.
Melissa, the property manager, was very helpful. She informed us that the two sailboats are available for rental directly from the owner, and she made a few restaurant recommendations in Solomons which is just a five minute drive away. This was our first visit to Solomons, and it was so lovely! The shops, the restaurants, the waterviews, the maritime museum, and just walking around was great!. We look forward to coming back.
