Beachfront Century Home Boasts A Million Dollar View

Welcome to your home for the weekend! The Beacon B&B/Vacation Rental at Lakeview Beach offers a relaxing stay directly across from Lakeview Beach and South Lakeview Park, facing the lighthouse with the neighboring beacon light flashing through the windows as if to guide and welcome you home! This classic century home is somewhat formal, yet warm and inviting, to create a comfortable classy atmosphere for our guests. Enjoy morning strolls at the beach with hot coffee or walks through the historic rose garden or quaint well-maintained neighborhood. Relax and soak in the sunshine on the beach. Take it up a notch with countless activities: tennis, pickleball, basketball, bike-riding, volleyball. Allow the breathtaking sunset over Lake Erie and the colorful fountain to set the mood for your evening as you take in the splendor with music and wine on the front porch boasting a million dollar view!
The Beacon B&B is a century home located ACROSS the street from the Lighthouse that is pictured with that view of the Lighthouse and Beacon (for which the B&B is named). The Beacon B&B is currently being used as a vacation rental. There will be some extra special services expected in a B&B like fresh flowers, chocolates, etc. in addition, some select breakfast items along with a few toiletries are provided upon your arrival for your enjoyment during your first morning. But the home is rented to single families/groups so you will enjoy it privately! The adjacent property is available via this same online forum for larger groups and/or families.

The "Beacon B&B" is a classic century home overlooking Lake Erie and Lakeview Beach and north Lakeview Park. The living room features large windows and the warmth of old world charm with a classic nautical touch, creating a comfortable, classy and inviting atmosphere for our guests. The breathtaking views and charming decor continue, opening into the sunroom which has been transitioned into the dining/morning room along with kitchenette.
Find serene resting places on the front porch, along the flagstone paths or into extended side yard, complete with large rod iron table and covered grilling station, all capturing million dollar views! Relax with a good book as you curl-up on the comfy sectional or oversized occasional chairs. The unique futon located in the upstairs front bedroom provides additional reading /daydreaming seating as you continue to be awed by the views.
The sleeping areas begin with this delightful front bedroom directly overlooking the lake and beach. "Mermaid's Delight" features 2 twin high-end metal framed beds along with the unique futon that provides an extra sleeping option if needed. "Tranquility be the Sea" boasts a quiet, comfortable night's sleep on its king bed. The large shared bathroom includes double vessel sinks, spacious shower w/ customized shower invigorating accessories. The original claw foot tub optionally provides a relaxing soak. These three large second-floor areas are pleasingly wrapped in calming hues and tasteful nautical inspired decor.
The Beacon B&B, since its 2025 transition, is now an adult-only oasis and, although spacious, is now intended to accommodate up to 5 guests. Our pleasant host continues her aspirations to provide accommodations that truly make you feel at home. Larger groups and/or families are welcome to reserve the adjacent home, "A Beach Cottage," which is also listed on this online forum.
What was known as the "Captain's Quarters" at the original Beacon B&B is now reserved for the owner's use and is a private first floor suite encompassing the rear half of the home/property. The "Eagle's Nest" of the original layout will be transitioning as the second story patio.
These two homes were built in the early 1900's directly facing the original lighthouse with the neighboring beacon light flashing through the windows as if to guide and welcome you home! Most of the original woodwork and floors remain and grace the halls of this home that reminisce of a bygone era. Sitting proudly across from Lakeview Beach with its magnificent view of Lake Erie sunsets! Additionally, enjoy view of the historic lighthouse fondly known as the "Jewel of the Port", its companion beacon, original fountain and its evening colored water displays and be sure to stroll through the historic rose garden, as well as visit the newly reconstructed beach bathhouse that sits on the original foundation remaining from the tornado of 1924. And, of course, don't miss the opportunity to relish a cup of java as your toes meet the sand and the waves at Lakeview Beach!
Ms. Kucirek acquired the original property in 2003 after failing in love with the open airiness of the surrounding parks and magnificent full beach view. She has been happy to share the home and realize her dream of opening a B&B at Lakeview Beach. Subsequently she acquired the adjacent home, A Beach Cottage, and is excited to continue to provide a home away from home to groups both big and small, now with the transition of the Beacon B&B. Reserve now!

The house was just as described. The owner was transparent about a couple things that could have been a snag, but we didn’t need a washing machine or a couch in the living room. The view of the lake was beautiful!

Perfect House for a Large Family Gathering

This house, with its four bedrooms, was perfect for my 10 person family attending a celebration of life! Across the street from Lakeview Park, we basked in the lake view and easy access to daily walks along the boardwalk. It was a December stay so we didn’t need any of the beach towels!?

Lots of character, great setting

First: know that this is an older home. With the character come some quirks, and some cracks that some may not like. But the setting is great, the kitchen is remodeled and well appointed, the host was helpful and cooperative

What a lovely time and place!

We stayed for a few days for my daughter's birthday. We all had a blast. The home was lovely, and tastefully decorated. It was very close to the lake and we enjoyed seeing the lake from the dining room table as we ate our meals. Our host was very nice and considerate of our circumstances. Would like to book another trip in the fall, and would definitely love to stay here again!

The house was wonderful. It was like stepping back in time and we all felt immediately relaxed.

The house was wonderful. The ample space provided places to gather as well as places for quiet time. Our family was attending our sons wedding and the house provided a great location to the event and some extra fun memory making time.

Superb location with lake views

Our family group of five adults found the beds comfortable and the dining and kitchen space great for sharing meals. We enjoyed daily walks and runs along the lake and the neighborhood. Kelly was easy to communicate with and a responsive host.

Accommodating for large group

We had a group of 9 and there was plenty of room for all of us. The house while a bit on the older side was clean and decorated nicely. Beds were all comfortable. No complaints at all and we would happily stay again.

Drag Races and front deck

We really enjoyed our time at the rental, we spent most of our time on the front deck watching the world go by.. the house was very clean and was a great space for the 4 of us. The location was great - we went to the rock and roll hall of fame in Cleveland and the drag races in Norwalk. I would recommend staying at this rental anytime .

We knew that the house was under construction so we were not disappointed. The location is super! Once the laundry is complete, all appliances fully functional and the water pressure problems fixed all should be well. We enjoyed our time there!

Property Review

Over all a good place to stay, the location of this home is very good. The property needed bushes trimmed, grass cut, front porch could have been cleaned a little. Inside was clean but again a little maintenance - light switch missing, blinds broken, but most was in good working condition.

Spacious House

This property has room for a large family, can sleep 10 in the 5 separate bedrooms. It is located near many fun events including the beach across the road, Cuyahoga Valley National Park for hiking, and Lake Erie Crushers baseball only 15 minutes away! Kelly was prompt in replying to messages and helpful in answering questions.

Lake house

The house was clean and spacious and a quick walk across the street to the beach. There is also a big park right next door with a cool playground and tennis courts. The house could use a refresh on some kitchen supplies (mainly some mixing bowls) and didn't have any cleaning spray for the counters and it would be nice to have it's own grill as it currently has one that is shared with the house next door which would be awkward if you wanted to grill at the same time. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great locatuon for families!

Our family of 10 stayed at this property this past week, and loved our time here! The location is one of the best features. A beautiful and well kept park is situated across the street, in front of the sandy beach. The neighborhood park across the side street was a great amenity. Baseball diamonds for kickball, tennis and pickleball courts kept us active. Beach volleyball was also a hit. The charming downtown in Vermilion is only 15 min to the west. A Guardians baseball game was 30 min east. My husband took advantage of the Black River bike trail and rode to his heart's content. The beds were all comfortable, and the house was clean. Kelly was wonderful to work with. She was attentive to our needs (extra tp and grabage bags). We would definitely consider returning in the future!

Old quirky house

The house is across a street and a park from the beach that has permanent signs no swimming. It’s not as close at it seems. The house has a lot of quirky things like two inch steps separating the kitchen and dining area, holes in the wall filled with toilet paper, and a bathtub without a plug that when using the shower leaked into the kitchen the floor below. The lighting is complicated to figure out and there needs to be fans in the third floor. But the owner was fast to reply and said the leaking is an occasional problem but on their list for future renovations. It would be nice to have more than half a roll of paper towels provided and more than two trash bags and more than two dishwasher pods. But we used them all and had to buy more to get by. The sheets were really soft, the pillows and beds were in great shape. The Roku on most of the TVs were really nice too. Overall we did enjoy our stay just a few quirky things.

Booked for Oberlin College graduation - 30min from campus

Beds were VERY comfy. Ceiling fans in each bedroom but not installed with full support so you can't turn them on high without major fan wobble. Rooms got uncomfortably warm (had to borrow stand fan that my son was packing up for college move out) Older house w/ creaking floors and doors. Master shower had minimal water pressure and adjusting temp was odd. Speaking of odd - Storage room at the end of hallway has glass doors -could see inside. Wish there were curtains on those glass doors! Kitchen was well equipped w/round kitchen table maybe seats 5-6. Refrigerator size/location was a challenge. Narrow walkway-had trouble getting sheet cake in the door. Large front porch was nice in the morning, but broken door handle and glass door were an issue without waking the rest of the house. House is on a busy main road with plenty of traffic through the night. Loud people on the tennis courts right next door until 10p and in early morning too. Single bathroom downstairs - motion sensor light, so if you needed a few extra minutes to do your thang in the bathroom, you had to wave or move while sitting to keep light on. Or sit in the dark! Beach towels provided were great. Overall, the house was ok. it has it positives and negatives. NOTE TO FUTURE GUESTS: All access to the house has stairs. Includes driveway. Inside house has steep stairs to bedrooms. No beds or pull-out couch on main floor. Grandparent with hip issue could not come over due to this. Disappointing.

Disappointed

Nice location on a busy street across from the lovely South Lakeview Park & Beach. Great AC appreciated as weather was hot/humid. While interior of home has appeal with decorative touches, there is discrepancy in overall present condition of home and posted photos. Found this to be misleading. (For example, existing window treatments actually consist mostly of window blinds, making a real difference in the ambience we expected based on promo photos). Also, online outdoor photos not current and very misleading...first impression "Adams Family." Exterior of home needs attention. Shower in "master" bath is small, could barely turn around. Beds were "squishy." Awkward placement of furniture in LR, which faces fireplace, but a sharp right to face TV. Amenities listed cable/satellite TV, DVD player - only thing available was Roku. Call to Kelly RE DVD question was unhelpful and frustrating. Her comment, "I'm on vacation too." Posted check-out instructions: "Clean counters and sweep hard surfaces," which we did after cleaning the filter in the sweeper provided b/c it wasn't working. AND WE'RE CHARGED A $100 CLEANING FEE?!! I've waited to submit this review b/c I want to be thoughtful and fair, but I think prospective renters need to know that "what you see" in posted photos may not be "what you get" in reality when you stay at the Beachfront Century Home. We would not have booked had we known this simple truth,

The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The host was quick to reply when needed. The beach was tiny, tiny pebbles, not sand. Lots of chairs to sit in and watch the lake and listen to them crashing into the break walls. It was rough when we were there so we did not swim. The backyard was a little confusing on figuring out what part belonged to this house. There is a garage or storage building directly behind the house but we had a great view from the kitchen table looking out. There was a lot to do in the area. We had a good time.

Charming Old Home that is close to the beach

The clear einner of this home is the 4 minute walk to the beach, you cant beat that! This house has that old cozy charm, but with old charm comes the need for updates as well. With some attention, updates and TLC this vrbo home could be a gold mine! It is very clean, the host is very helpful and friendly, as well! The beds were all comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. But we do not recommend you rely on the "included grill" for dinners, it is shared with the neighboring house and is also in very bad shape. There is enough seating at the table and in the living room for about 6, so id say the home is comfortable for 6, but may be harder for 7+. The home is in Lorain which is a cute town that is in the middle of being updated, its very close to Vermillion as well which is an adorable tourist town on the lake! The beach that is directly across from this home is beautiful and very well kept. We spent a lot of time there! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again!
