You’ll love the Bamboo Garden House because of the natural, eco-friendly finishes, functional design, full kitchen, location, private off-street parking, and separation of space. BGH is close to public transportation, the city center and UO Campus (<2 miles), parks, great restaurants, shopping, art and culture. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families. We have created a comfortable and relaxing guest house, and look forward to hosting you!

Our space is designed and built specifically as a guest house. It is comfortably furnished and well-equipped. This home includes heating and air conditioning, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and linens, and eco-conscious finishes throughout. We have purposefully chosen a sofa-sleeper that is actually comfortable. It is a high-end sofa bed with an air spring mattress - no uncomfortable bar in your back!

Guests have access to their own private 915 square foot home, which includes one private, off-street parking space within a security gate. At check-in, you will be provided with access codes for the gate and entry into the home. A gate remote is available to you after check-in, as well.

We respect and value privacy ~ yours and ours. That being said, we are fully available to our guests to answer any questions or address any issues that arise during your stay. We are avid outdoor lovers and have suggestions for hikes, scenic drives, parks and the like. We have lived in Eugene for over 20 years and love to share about the reasons we love it here.

The Friendly Neighborhood features: Friendly Park, Madison Meadow, Friendly Street Market, Friendly Street Food Cart Pod, Farmer’s Union Coffee Roasters, Healthy Pet, Radiant Health (massage/sauna/acupuncture) + easy access to downtown Eugene, University of Oregon campus and Hayward Field. Nearby is Market of Choice (larger grocer), restaurants, and entertainment ~ within a 5 minute drive.

LTD bus stop is less than 3 blocks away. On-street parking, if needed, is under 1 block from the Bamboo Garden House. 20 minute walk to downtown.

Please note that the guest house has one exterior security camera.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please, no shoes worn inside the home.
Only registered guests overnight. Please provide the names of all adult guests. Park in designated spot only.

This was my family's second time staying at Amy and Jason's property. We can't say enough positive things about their space. It was just as peaceful and serene as the first time. It is private, quiet, very clean, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. Amy and Jason were very communicative and helpful during our stay as well. Our experience in the Bamboo Garden House exceeded our expectations. Our family stayed here while work was happening in our home nearby in Eugene. Amy and Jason made us feel very at home during a stressful time. The space itself is very private, incredibly clean and well appointed. I am very sensitive to allergens and appreciated attention to a hypoallergenic home. I can't say enough positive things about what a comfortable and pleasant VRBO experience this has been for us!

This house is absolutely stunning. You can see and feel how much thought and care went into the design. The place was sparkling clean, and didn’t feel like a vacation rental. It felt like a beautiful custom home that they designed for themselves. Higher-end finishes like Paperstone counters, hardwood floors, modern furniture…I could go on. The gated entry was great, as was the lighting, the bathroom, the shower, the bed…the kitchen is gorgeous too.Suffice to say, you will not be disappointed if you book this house. This is a nice, modern property in an especially quiet nook of Eugene. There is a little park nearby that makes for a pleasant morning stroll, grocery and convenience stores within walking distance (not a short walk, but not an especially long walk either), as well as other stores and places to eat. Just a few points to consider: 1. The parking is a little tight. If you are driving a large vehicle or have a hard time maneuvering in snug spaces, you may need to park on the street. 2. The property has 2 dual heat/ac units, but when we visited and the outside temp rose above 80f, the units had a hard time keeping the temp pleasant in the main living area. If you are traveling during hot weather, ask the owners for suggestions. 3. The property is best for solo travelers or couples. The second bed is a sleeper sofa with an inflatable mattress in the living room. I didn't try the mattress out myself because I didn't want to go through the hassle of making/unmaking the bed every day. I chose to sleep on the sofa the old-fashioned way, and it was fine. I am 5'8" and I was able to sleep without bending my legs, but just barely. Also be advised, there is a lot of ambient light at night in the living room...from the clocks on the stove and microwave, the modem in the living room, and two skylights. If you are light sensitive at night, the living room sleeper may prove a poor match. Hope this helps!

Why they chose this property

We bought our property in the Friendly Neighborhood of Eugene because we like the relaxed, friendly (no joke!) vibe of our neighborhood. It is one of the most desirable parts of town and has easy access to downtown, the University area, and our local grocery stores. Our property also has southern exposure which is helpful for our vegetable gardens!

What makes this property unique

Travelers will fall in love with our clean, tidy and relaxing guest home, the Bamboo Garden House. We built this guest house in 2016 with eco-friendly, non-toxic materials. The feel of the home is one of simplicity. It is a Pacific Northwest Contemporary style home, designed and built by us. It is located on the back of our property with complete privacy from the main house and separate entry through the alley. It is a very quiet location to retreat.
