A great stay as always! Beautiful views perfect for morning coffee and a night cap from the dock. Hosts are extremely pleasant, attentive, and responsive. Very clean and check in/out is a breeze. Tucked away in a channel away from boat traffic/waves. Will definitely be back

We are glad you found the cabin to have everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable and enjoyed the quiet setting with access to everything the chain offers.
We had a great time at Cranberry Pines. The cabin was immaculate and the kitchen was well-equipped. The owners were very responsive to questions we had before going. We loved that our dog was able to come with us. The fishing was great- so great that we’re looking forward to getting the small mouth bass we’re having mounted! Cranberry Pines was so relaxing and quiet.

Everything was great and as detailed in the listing. House was clean, fully stocked and located in a peaceful area. The kayaking to the dam and back was picturesque. We rented a pontoon for our week and we were able to easily get to the other lakes on the chainas well. Great overall experience.

About the host
Hosted by Dave & Diane Butchart
Hi - we are Dave and Diane Butchart. We met on a blind date the summer of 1982 and will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this August. We have 2 sons, Mike and Nick who have enjoyed coming "up north" since they were born; however, our German Shorthair dog Chloe loves the north woods more than any of us.
Why they chose this property
In 1962, Dave's grandparents, Ace and Eva Kenney purchased 7 acres of land and 300 feet of frontage on Cranberry Lake. They choose this particular piece of water front because Eva loved the solitude and to be able to see land not too far over the water. It was then that they started envisioning their dream of building a resort, which become known as Kenney's Resort. The property consisted of a year round home and the "big" and "little" cottages. The love of Cranberry Lake and the Eagle River area was instilled in Dave by his grandparents from his earliest childhood memories of sitting on his grandpa's lap in the old red pickup truck and helping his grandma clean the cottages and get the boats ready for the next set of renters. Upon their death, Dave's family inherited the home and the cottages were sold. Years later, we now own the home and in the fall of 2014, we were presented the opportunity to buy the "big" cottage". Ace and Eva's dream was to share their little slice of heaven with those who rented from them and we are proud to carry on their dream. In that spirit, we would like to share what's now known as Cranberry Pines with you.
What makes this property unique
You now know why this place means so much to us, but here are some little things that make it special. While there is knotty pine throughout the entire cabin, the knotty pine used in the original part of the cabin was milled from trees on the property. With the addition of the great room and covered porch, it's a very comfortable and inviting place to visit and we strive to make you feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. Another favorite of ours are the many birds and animals we see every day. Whether it's hummingbirds that frequent the feeder outside the picture window, the Eagles nesting across the water, the deer meandering through the yard or the loons calling in the evening, you will have plenty of opportunities to connect with nature. Whether it's time spent bonding with family or friends around the campfire or spending time on the water, we hope you choose to join us at Cranberry Pines.
