This is my fifth time staying in The Homestead Cabin and every year it is perfect!!! Our annual respite specifically here on this property for the beautiful scenic and natural views, peace, and simplicity. 10/10 recommend this property.

We had such a lovely time at the cabin. Communication was fantastic, the location dreamy, and the weather perfect. We truly enjoyed staying in the cabin - the walk along the ocean path and exploring the quarry on the adjacent property and Stonington was so much fun. It couldn't have been better.

Perfect summer vacation! The cottage was beautiful inside and out. David is a great host, checking in just enough to make sure all is well. The property is just far enough out to feel remote but close enough to enjoy Stonington and all of the mid coast towns in Maine. Direct access to the bay is only a couple minute walk through the woods to a beach and the most beautiful view imaginable.

This is a property that we rent annually. The cabin is impeccable. Every item you could need is there, if you need anything the hosts, David and Carolyn are but a short walk down the road. The view is always perfect. If you are looking for a Maine oasis this is it. It is located near a meadow of ferns and a very short walk to the ocean with a picturesque view that should be on a magazine cover.

Absolutely loved this cabin and so did our dogs!! The cabin was perfect for a semi unplugged time and the property was gorgeous!! Will definitely be coming back! The hosts and their dog Daisy were very friendly and super helpful.

Relaxation paradise

One of the quietest places I ever visited. We had a very relaxing one week stay. Loved launching the kayaks right from the beach. Our doodle was very happy here. The private beachfront is amazing.

Awesome adventure!

Perfect location for avid outdoors people or for anyone who loves nature and the peace and seclusion it offers. The close proximity to Acadia National Park is icing on the cake! David and Carolyn are gracious hosts and everything was perfect for our stay! Will definitely try to visit again!

This is my fourth stay at this absolutely delightful cabin. I can’t imagine anywhere else I would rather visit on my annual trip to Maine than this beautiful, peaceful, and scenic property! The hosts are wonderful, the cabin is immaculate, and I look forward to my trip here every year! 10/10 would recommend for anyone who looks for a place to rest, rejuvenate, and enjoy the beauty that the coasts of Maine has to offer. Incredible place

Everytime we stay here the experience gets better. Beautiful weather all week. David and Carolyn are excellent hosts. They were very welcoming and the friendliest people you will ever meet. We intend to rent the cabin again.

This was our second trip to this lovely, very secluded cabin. The kitchen is well equipped to cook most anything and the living area and bedrooms provide lots of comfy spots to relax. The deck also has a table with 2 chairs and 2 adirondack chairs for outdoor comfort. David & Carolyn are wonderful hosts with a wealth of information about the area!

Magical place

Perfect week. Beautiful location with a very well designed, built, and maintained cabin. Hosts were wonderful (including Daisy the golden retriever). Did some day trips to hike at different preserves but some of the best hiking was exploring the land around the cabin--same mix of granite and mossy spruce forests but all to yourself! Will definitely come back.

Peace on the coast of Maine

We are overwhelmed by the quiet beauty here. Silent mornings, afternoon swims on the private beach.We cook all our meals in the well equipped cabin kitchen . There is baking equipment to make a blueberry pie.

The Homestead Cabin

The Homestead cabin is a true gem! We felt instantly relaxed and at home, nestled in the peaceful woods with stunning ocean views just a short walk away. The mossy trails were enchanting, and watching the two Daisys play on the beach was a highlight. Thank you, David and Carolyn, for creating such a welcoming and special place.
