We were thrilled the moment we pulled off the road and saw the charming home. This was the perfect escape from our home in Las Vegas. We loved our 6 days of exploring, fishing, eating, and relaxing at Cedar Creek Guesthouse. It offers all the amenities this city family needed with a lot of nature and beauty that this city family REALLY needed. We are so thankful for the opportunity to stay here.

Spacious and clean!
We really loved staying here! There was great communication, and it was apparent the hosts cared about our experience. All the little details were there. The beds were comfortable and the main floor en suite bathroom was huge! Beautiful property!!
This East Jorden home was centrally located for our day trips to Boyne Mountain, Boyne City, Charlevoix, Waloon Lake, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. It sets closer to the road than we expected but it still provided relatively quiet and private surroundings. There was only 4 of us staying there so we were able to get by with the fact that there is only one bathroom for all 3 upstairs bedrooms. It’s an older home but well kept and the Owner has been thoughtful in supplying for guests’ needs. We were very comfortable there.

Not Worth the Price
We needed 10 consecutive nights and this was the only rental available or we wouldn’t have paid such high fees. At such a high rate we expected a high quality home. The house needed deep cleaning. The old house had been redone but not very well. For example, the floor in the half bath had been pieced together and felt unsafe. The floors in the back half of the house had an extreme slope. The railing on the front steps were very rickety and unsafe. We daily had to kill spiders and ants. Sparse communication, when the AC stopped working it was approximately 6 hours before my call was returned. Very disappointed.

Not worth the high price
Very disappointed! Poor communication with owners. Living room furniture extremely uncomfortable, sits low, and hard to get out of. Floors in kitchen, dining and half bath have a very noticeable slope. The hand rail on the front steps is very rickety and felt unsafe. When the house was remodeled it wasn’t done very well, lots of gaps in the woodwork and tape was used to hold the furnace grate on in the bathroom. The floor in the half bath was pieced together and felt weak. Lots of spiders and ants. The yard needed mowed. The house needs a deep clean. The best thing was the king bed in master, it was very comfortable. We have rented several vacation houses over the past five years in the area and this was by far the worst. The extra fees and high cleaning charge were extreme. Unfortunately for us this was the only rental available that had 10 consecutive nights.

Hi Carol, we appreciate your feedback and sincerely regret that your stay didn't meet your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your comments, and they wanted to share the following:
- This home is a beautifully restored red-brick farmhouse built in 1890, which features charming original maple floors. A slight slope in the kitchen floor is typical of homes from this era; it’s been inspected to ensure it remains solid, safe, and stable.
- While previous guests have appreciated the comfort of the leather sofas and chairs, they understand comfort is subjective and sincerely regret these didn't meet your preferences.
- The half bath has original maple floors with an inactive small hatch door, and the floor’s structure has been reinforced to support the washer and dryer, ensuring the area is safe and sturdy.
- We schedule professional pest control treatments twice a year due to the property's wooded surroundings. We acknowledge that occasional insects may still enter and will keep a closer eye on this issue.
- The handrail on the front steps has been checked, found to have slight movement, and repairs are already underway.
- The original trim and woodwork in the home were thoughtfully restored to maintain the home's vintage character, though we’ll review your comments to ensure the finishes and details remain welcoming and well-maintained.
- We’re also following up on lawn care to make sure future guests find the yard neatly maintained upon arrival.
Thanks for your valuable feedback
