LIVING SPACES

The Chalet Getaway is perfect for families, with 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and two separate living rooms. We also provide plenty of entertainment options to keep everyone happy and busy! Here, you’ll find Gigabyte speed WiFi, TVs with Amazon Prime Video, Chromecast, Disney+, Netflix, and YouTube TV, as well as a great selection of board games.

Picture the scene: it’s late afternoon at the Chalet Getaway. You’ve just returned from a day on the slopes of Shanty Creek, boating on Torch Lake, hiking at the Grass River Natural Area, or hitting the links at one of the 10+ area golf courses.

Now, it’s time to relax, pour yourself a drink, and nibble on a snack as you wind down from the day. That’s easy to do in our two spacious, yet cozy, living rooms. Upstairs, you’ll definitely want to cozy up on one of the two plush sofas or two armchairs, all in soothing neutral colors. The gas fireplace lends a homey, rustic ambiance. One of the most popular attractions in this room, however, is the 55" HDTV with Amazon Prime Video, Chromecast, Disney+, Netflix, and YouTube TV. Sounds like a big bowl of popcorn made in a stainless steel pot may be in order!

Down the spiral staircase is a second full living room. An almost exact replica of the upstairs, your crew will enjoy plenty of comfortable seating, a second gas fireplace, and a big HDTV. There are endless opportunities here. The kids’ haven? The man cave? The girls’ getaway? Or maybe all of the above at different times during your stay!

KITCHEN AND DINING

Who enjoys cooking? Everyone will in this fully-equipped and updated kitchen.

With a beautifully upscale rustic vibe, this space features stainless steel appliances, and an unusual, Short's Brewery backsplash and ode to the former owner and head brewer at Short's, a well know brewery and fantastic restaurant in Bellaire.

Enjoy lovely views of the outside greenery from a double window.

The adjacent dining room accommodates 8 around a classic wood table.

BEDROOMS AND BATHS

All four bedrooms offer heavy log-cabin furnishings, with nightstands and lamps.
Upstairs is one queen bedroom and a full bath with a walk-in tiled shower and frameless door.
Downstairs are two queen bedrooms and one bedroom with a double and twin bed. The downstairs bath offers charming tin accents and a walk-in shower.

OUTDOOR AMENITIES

A fire pit offers languid nights, telling jokes and ghost stories while feasting on hot dogs, marshmallows, and s’mores.

The outdoor wood fired sauna is magical. Start the wood burning stove and enjoy a relaxing sauna within 30-40 minutes.

Be sure to enjoy your coffee or a meal al fresco, sitting at the dining table in the front of the chalet.

The Chalet is cute, nicely decorated and comfortable. We had plenty of room for our 4 couples. The fire pit was perfect for a cool late summer evening. The only thing that would make it nicer would be if the three bedrooms downstairs were a bit quieter - you could hear people upstairs talking and walking around.

We had a perfect time at Chalet Getaway. Best kitchen ever as we have been doing our family vacations for over 14 years and we had everything we needed for our family dinners. Very comfortable beds, very clean and even had a sauna and hot tub outside. We really enjoyed the fire pit every night. Very private too!

We were pleasantly surprised about the quality of the amenities right down to the quality of the silverware! The beds were so comfortable, we appreciated the high quality fans in the bedrooms, pans were high end, glassware was spot free and plentiful. The outdoor amenities exceeded expectations too! Awesome Ski Vacation

The host was great and communicated quickly and kindly. The house was clean and fully stocked with plenty of kitchen ware which was great as we cooked large dinners every night and used everything from the charcoal grill to ovens, toasters, range, cutting boards, etc etc. The sauna was easy to use and was perfect after a day on the slopes. We also enjoyed the fire pit and the board/card games around the dining table. Having a kids “hangout area” downstairs and adult “hang out” area upstairs was a nice feature as well. I would for sure stay here again. Thank you for a memorable time!

Sweetest Chalet!!!

We absolutely loved our two nights at the chalet, and we used every inch of it and all of the wonderful amenities. We loved the beautiful wooded setting, and spent most of our time laughing around the fire and enjoying the hot tub and sauna. Our pre-teens and teens did appreciate the downstairs lounge area and being able to hook their games up for evening hangouts. We cooked up a delicious meal on the Solo stove, and having the two full bathrooms was a must for two separate families traveling together. Justin was excellent with communication, answered my questions right away and even gave some great recommendations on food and other info in the area. Just a short drive to Torch Lake and other water and cute towns, but we were enjoying the chalet so much we spent a good amount of time just hanging out there! Perfect place to make memories and recharge, and it’s so unique in its style, furnishings and decor. We highly recommend!!!

Great Place

This is my second time at this house. It is a great house, in an awesome location. The host is really great to work with and makes the entire process very easy. It has a wonderful "up north" feel, which can be hard to get with a lot of rental homes in the area. The location is near perfect, being right in the middle of so many areas. Traverse City and Petoskey are both easily accessible, and Bellaire itself has really become a great destination. All in all a wonderful stay.

Nice place to stay in Bellaire. JT knows what's up with rentals. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Dude put some time and effort into the kitchen. Such an exciting kitchen! A little high tech for light switches and quite a few remotes for different things. took a minute to adjust to all the gadgets, even my tech savvy kids were taken back by all the things. Thanks again!

Perfect for the Holiday Weekend

First - we were amazed that the property was even still available when attempting to book, everything looked great and it seemed to good to be true... however, clicked the buttons and it was booked! Instant communication with the owner and good instructions right up to the day we arrived. The place was fantastic and met every expectation that we had. At the end of the trip we had a beautiful Chalet to come back to, tons of fun with day trips due it's great location, great nights by the firepit and watching tv and an overall comfortable stay due to the good communication by the owner. We didn't have any issues and didn't need to reach out to them to fix anything - however, I have zero doubts that if we did they would have super responsive. I look forward to booking again! Thanks for having us!

We, JT & Julie, our daughter Claire (6) and our son Grant (3) started this business in 2021 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was driven by the burning desire to get out of the house where I had spent over 1 year staring at a computer screen in a dark room and contemplating what's next in life. Missing the days of socializing with family, friends, and other humans, we started to look into AirBnBs as a way to get people together again in a meaningful way. When we launched our first property, it was the summer of 2021 and the societal need to get people together and move on from the pandemic was at its peak. The summer sun vitamin D in Michigan was giving people an extra boost in their step. We worked very hard to get everything in order in our 3 AirBnBs spending many weekends setting up and improving the properties. Each of us had a role in setting up the properties. Some people would call me an EngiNERD, which shows in the many tech improvements throughout our properties. Julie was the queen of the details, including the kitchen, bedding, and putting those little stickers on the light switches. The children took great pride in their contributions such as the hammock at the Chalet Getaway, bunk beds at the Thompsonville lodge, and movie room at the Birdhouse Bham. We truly enjoy enabling groups of people to reconnect and have a fantastic time. The best, yet unforeseen, benefit has been the amazing reviews from many fantastic groups. They are often screenshotted and passed around our family for the pure joy that it brings to hear of the wonderful time people are having. The impact that it makes on their (and our) mood, happiness and general wellbeing is truly energizing. We will go to great lengths to ensure that your time is fantastic and we look forward to hosting you.
