Welcome to "Hilltop Hideaway Chalet" nestled in the woods, this home features 3-bedrooms, 3-bathrooms and is located centrally in Schuss Mountain, a popular ski destination & one of the three villages at Shanty Creek Resort. This chalet has been tastefully updated with modern amenities and is well maintained with mini split heat pumps and A/C for year-round rentals. A perfect getaway for year-round activities as you can hit the slopes at Schuss Mountain (~3 min drive) in the winter and discover plenty of inland lakes (some of the best in the state!), hiking trails, and award-winning golf in the summer months. With endless adventure at your fingertips, this Chalet retreat is a dream come true. The home is pet friendly and comfortably accommodates 8 people. The large bedrooms feature 3 king beds and the twin bunk bed in the basement is perfect for accommodating all guests.

Enjoy a quiet northern Michigan stay in your private chalet on a sprawling wooded lot at the end of a cul-de-sac with extra room for parking in the lower-level circular driveway. This home has been updated with 2 smart TV’s with streaming capabilities, WI-FI Internet, tiled showers, deck with grill, new mattresses, mini split heat & air conditioning, 2 gas log fireplaces and a GAME ROOM (more features to come soon!). Rental includes the use of a pool pass (Indoor & Outdoor) for all guests.

The main floor great room is accented with a towering brick fireplace, tongue & groove wood ceilings, & opens to the wraparound deck. The large primary bedroom is upstairs with a private bath & a balcony with woodland views. The main & lower levels each offer an additional bedroom & bath. On the walkout lower level, you'll also find a game room w/pool table, fireplace and twin bunk beds. Walk down to the new firepit area to enjoy the stars and s’mores. Other amenities include a well-stocked coffee/ tea bar.

A great place to relax on a quiet getaway weekend or to utilize as a vacation destination for the many "Up-North" activities such as hunting, hiking, fishing, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, cross country skiing, tubing (down the mountain in the winter and on the lake in the summer), ATV's, boating, biking, visiting wineries/breweries/distilleries or just plain "hanging out." This location places you in the heart of what Northern Michigan has to offer. It is turn-key for the traveler and close to the town of Bellaire, Torch Lake, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Petoskey, Mackinac Island and Charlevoix. A Beautiful Home in the Woods

We had a Beautiful Skiing Weekend. We’ve stayed here last year and it was just as Good this year again. John is very easy to deal with also. The home is very well equipped and maintained. Also , I was really surprised when I saw the plow truck clearing the driveway each morning . We had gotten over 12 inches of snow and it was blowing quite hard. We’re planning on staying here again next winter.

Perfect winter family cabin

We have a family of 6 including 4 teenagers and this was a perfect home to rent. John’s provided check in information was helpful and detail oriented. Would stay here again!

Christmas with Family

Overall, we enjoyed our stay for Christmas with family. The chalet is nice overall, and we had everything we needed. We loved the fireplace. The owner was quick to respond to texts. There are a few minor maintenance things but nothing that hampered our stay. The chalet was quite clean except for cobwebs and spiders in the basement.

Great Home in the Woods

Wonderful setting for a fall stay up north. Colors were changing, so we enjoyed short trips to nearby towns for eating and shopping, and enjoying the beautiful fall colors. Chalet is comfortable and clean, with plenty of room. Having 3 king beds and baths were great for having our adult kids visit. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee in the living room with the fireplace going. Great way for starting the day!

My husband fell in love with the Shanty Creek Resort area specifically when he was young and introduced it to me a few years ago which turned into us both being in love with the area. We have both been in the accounting world for 15+ years and decided to venture out and use our attention to details in a more creative way and start our first short term rental. We can't wait to share our new property with you and hope our love for the area and attention to details will keep you wanting to come back for years to come!
