From the owner: "Thank you, Monica, for the kind words about your stay and the beautiful weather! We’re glad you enjoyed your time here. You’re right about the WiFi—because we’re located on top of Mt. Rogers, service can be limited. It works well for emails, browsing, and light streaming, but it may not be as fast as city speeds. We’re always looking into ways to improve it, and we appreciate your feedback!”"

This property was built for guests to spread out, relax, and actually enjoy their time together, so it’s good to hear it served you well. You’re always welcome back whenever you want more mountain quiet and open space.”
This rental property was just as advertised. Set in an extremely beautiful area in the VA mountains. Cleanliness is very important to us and this home didn't disappoint. Hiking on the Appalachian Trail was a goal of ours and this location provided many entry points to some great hikes. We'll stay again for sure....

Michael, thank you for a review that carries real weight. Cleanliness and accuracy are two things I refuse to compromise on, so hearing that the home met your standards matters a lot. This corner of Troutdale is special, and it’s good to know the beauty of the area and the access to the AT gave you exactly what you came for.I’m glad the house served as a solid base for your hikes and your time in the mountains. You’re always welcome back when you’re ready for the next stretch of trail or another quiet reset in this part of Virginia.Abba’s Holler

Comfort, peacefulness, and natural beauty personified!
This home has charm, abundant amenities, and a serene ambience that exudes comfort and restored my equilibrium! Completely modern inside with a decor that accurately reflects a love for Troutdale and all that surrounds this gem of a home. Game room, spacious garden tub/showers to restore freshness after a choice of hiking trails, nearby horseback riding, throwing frisbee or doing nothing while consuming the view on a 360degree covered wrap around porch! The weather was superb and had a fall like feel in the waning afternoon hours and early evening. There are wall heaters strategically placed around the porch that gently warm you as you enjoy nature’s offerings! Unloading your belongings are a breeze as the rear entry is nearly level with the ground. We ate breakfast outback around a well proportioned table and chairs. Adjacent to this table setting is a well placed fire pit for guests that enjoy a little warmth while watching the flames. I would be remiss if I didn’t share the absolute joy and relaxation of the jacuzzi! Tired feet and back was no match for this treat! The owner has labeled all light switches with their purpose to avoid guessing! He lays out in a booklet all you need to know and more. We are in our late sixties and we both agree that the relaxation we found was unmatched! We explored the babbling brook and numerous small waterfalls just behind the home with well marked entry paths that more gently guide you to the cold mountain stream! If fishing is your desire these streams are natural habitat for brook trout. As I pen this review I travel back to our stay and plan our return ASAP.

Charles, your review stopped me in my tracks. The way you captured the heartbeat of this home felt like you were walking me through it room by room. I built this place to carry peace, not pressure, and it means something when someone actually feels that.
You noticed details most people miss. The porch heaters, the ease of the rear entry, the labeling on the switches, the flow of the trails behind the house. You didn’t rush the experience. You let the place breathe, and it gave something back to you.
I’m grateful you both found rest, fresh air, and a stretch of time that reset the soul. That’s what this mountain spot was created for. Hearing that it restored your equilibrium tells me it’s doing its job.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful, vivid review. The door is always open for you. Looking forward to welcoming you back the moment you’re ready.
