This was a perfect place to transition from a summer of RV camping to a trip to Amsterdam. The cottage is cute and comfortable, and we loved being close to the bike trail and little beach at the end of the road. So happy to extend our summer on the Cape there.
I always bring pots, pans and knives because I am never sure how well equiped the rental is. This was as good a place as I have been to. I do like cooking some meals which did work out fine. Perhaps a decent size colendar was the only item I missed for pasta.Master bed was very comfortable, My cousin missed a tv, but I sure didn't.
This was a great place to stay. Easy access to beaches (and more), quiet and comfortable for sleeping, and full amenities. Loved it AND the outdoor shower! I will definitely book again.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope you can come stay at the cottage again!
Cute cottage close to the beaches, bay and town. Fit our family of four comfortably. The outdoor shower is fabulous. We were part of a larger group that stayed at a different house, so we did not cook at the cottage, but the kitchen is equipped for simple meals. We also did our laundry at a different house, as there is no washer/dryer at the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!
Even better than the pictures show! Plenty of room for three. You really could sleep several more comfortably. We loved the sunroom and spent many a morning and evening in there. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. A small yard to play in. Close to the bay… even walking distance if you don’t mind a bit of a walk. Convenient to drive to town and the ocean, as well as restaurants and mini golf. Our favorite part was the outdoor shower!
My husband and I spent two weeks at the cozy cottage. (Last week of Sept thru the first week of Oct 2024). It was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 34th anniversary and Chris and Paul couldn't have been nicer. We loved everything about the cottage and our stay was most enjoyable. We highly recommend.

We were so glad that you chose to celebrate your anniversary at our little cottage. Hope you can visit again!
About what I expected! Wanted something small in the woods, near hiking, walkable to water, and with outdoor space. Comfy beds and fully stocked kitchen. Fun week!

This cottage is delightfully decorated in traditional Cape style. The kitchen had everything we needed, including the spices for a seafood dish we cooked! The bedrooms are small, but the living area feels spacious. The back deck has a nice shaded eating area. The outdoor shower is lovely. The sound system was easy to use, and we did not miss a tv at all. You can ride a bike to the bay, but it would be a bit of a walk. They left plenty of useful information about local walking areas and provided great instructions on how to check in and get a beach permit. Very good for two adults, and one child. It would be a bit cozy with multiple adults.
We stayed here as a family of three in August ‘24. It fit our needs perfectly and we are already looking at coming back for next year. The house is so cute and well appointed - the kitchen, the cd and game collections, a gas and charcoal grill outside, a French press and a drip coffee maker, an outdoor shower, quality pots and pans. It really hit the spot for a relaxing week long get away. Thank you so much!
The cottage is very nice, well equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture and beds. It is great for 2 people and a child. Outside shower works well- indoor shower needed some work which owner was going to address. Owners are very responsive- neighborhood very quiet!

Thank you Deborah for the kind words. Yes, most everyone uses the outdoor shower but we did address the indoor one.
For those that know the area, this cottage was once one of the many cottages that line the bay shore in Truro, it was moved in the 1950's (along with others on the property) and expanded over the years. It more spacious than it seems in the pictures and would be a great place to book with a small group of friends. Everything was very clean and it's well stocked with many necessities. The owner was very responsive and friendly. We'll certainly be back (we've already discussed it, in fact). Lovely place in every regard!

Just what we needed
A short weekend on the outer cape, just before the crowds arrive. We couldn't have asked for a cuter, more well-equipped and designed cottage for a reprieve. We loved the outdoor shower and the kitchen set-up. A lovely and quiet place to visit, with so many opportunities for being near water or conservation land trails.
Thank you!

Elana, we're glad you enjoyed your time in our cottage. Spring and fall are wonderful peaceful times to visit Wellfleet. The Outer Cape feels very different than in the busy summer months. Any time you need a relaxing break, you are welcome back!
We loved this simple, small cottage. Quaint and absolutely clean - great little deck and outdoor shower. Well equipped kitchen. Pure cape with no TV! Hooray! And quiet location with walking access to beach and drive to nearby attractions. Perfect for a couple - or couple with small child. Tiny rooms. We are definitely returning to this ‘find’ for a relaxing vacation.

We're always happy to hear people appreciate their vacation with no TV. It let's you slow down and relax with no distraction. Hope you come back again!
It truly is a cozy cottage, but light and open as well. We enjoyed the colors and fabrics of the furnishings. There are many ceiling lines, beams etc that make for interest wherever your eye rests. The two beds were perfectly comfortable. The futon not so much, but good for children. There's a lovely Wellfleet Conservation trail just up the road that meanders down to the marsh.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and that you you explored the Conservation land up the road. That is one of our favorite quiet walking trails in the area. We hope to have you come back and stay with us again in the future.
This lovely cottage sits in a very quiet neighborhood just off of Highway 6 in Wellfleet, MA. You'll enjoy the night on a very private deck listening to crickets in the back yard. The cabin itself is well appointed with three sleeping areas, plus a pull out couch, an amazing outdoor shower, and a working fireplace for those cool Cape nights. You have quick access to several beaches on the ocean and bay side of Cape Cod. Forget the world if you want, wi-fi is available, but there is no TV to distract you from seals and sunsets on a variety of sandy beaches. This is one of the nicest places that I have stayed and I hope to come back soon.

Thank you for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed your time at our cottage and found it to be a nice escape. Hope you come back again to stay!

Cottage is exactly as advertised. It is an older renovated cottage with all you need for a comfortable stay. The location is off the main road and traffic was light to non-existent. Kitchen is more than adequate for prep needs and there is a large library of books and music to pick from. The lack of TV is not a problem unless you are truly addicted to the tube. In that case if you bring your laptop you can stream on the very good wifi. The owner was available for any questions we had and knowledgeable about the area. Great areas to watch sunsets are within minutes biking or driving. Wellfleet center is a short drive with small grocer, package store and its own restaurants and harbor area. Nice cottage, good owners and convenient location to P-town, Cape Cod National Seashore and Race Point Beach and dune areas. All Good.

Lee, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your comments and we hope you can come back and stay at the cottage again if your plans bring you back to this special part of the Cape.
PROS... Great location near beaches, trails, S Wellfleet. Very nicely decorated, cute great room space, well supplied with basics.
CONS... We paid a cleaning fee despite fact that we left place “very tidy” ( owners words) Since they do their own cleaning, we felt that we should have been reimbursed since none was needed.
Bedrooms- have no closets and are tiny. A larger person would not be able to walk around the bed in “master”. My husband kept his clothes on bed in second bedroom which was also very small.
Grills- rusty/ dirty and therefore unusable.

Donna, we sometimes clean the cottage ourselves and when we are not available, we have a cleaning service which takes care of our cottage. The rate we charge for cleaning is the current going rate for a cottage of that size in this area. Since we never know what condition the cottage will be in after our guests leave, the cleaning fee is based on an average of the amount of work it takes to clean the cottage after each of our guests stay. No matter how clean our guests leave the cottage, everything is always double checked to be certain the house is in good shape for the next renters. There are many things which need to be done to get the cottage ready for our guests. In addition to standard cleaning of the interior of the cottage, we also take care of yard cleanup, especially in the fall when the leaves start falling on the decks and in the outdoor shower, any maintenance work, seasonal changes, closing storm windows, taking out air-conditioners, and also restocking soaps, tea, coffee, paper goods, etc. All of this takes more time than you may think, even for a small cottage.
and yes, our cottage is small, as you can see in the photos in our listing. It's a tiny old fashioned efficiency cottage, very typical of the old Cape. Which is why we call it the Cozy Cottage.

Fabulous Wellfleet Cottage!
We had a terrific experience and feel very fortunate the dates of our vacation were available. The cottage is clean, cozy and well-equipped for all your cooking needs. Additionally, there is a terrific library in the living room.
I spent my summers growing up in the Wellfleet area and returned every summer through graduate school. It’s an amazing part of the Cape! The cottage is well-located just off Route 6. The National Seashore beaches, Cape Cod bike trail, the iconic Wellfleet Drive-in and Audubon Sanctuary are a 10 minute drive away.
Now living in Texas, I was also VERY excited to visit the new Dunkin Donuts located less than a mile from the cottage each morning before driving our 8-year-old son to the superb Audubon Children’s Camp each morning!
The neighbors I interacted with were delightful.
Lastly, on a side note, I was pleased to learn that the cottage owner is spearheading the local area campaign to discourage the use of plastic straws as it’s not only harmful to our environment, but to our sea creatures who ingest them. Everywhere we ate, such as Mac’s in both P-Town and Wellfleet, we thanked them for not using plastic straws or stirrers in our drinks.
In summary, highly recommend staying here and suggest booking early! Gems like this are hard to find.
Enjoy Wellfleet!!!!!

Katy,
Somehow I missed your review and just read it now. Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed our little cottage and it sounds as though you made the most of all that Wellfleet has to offer. I'm glad you are supportive of the move to end the use of plastic straws and that you shared that sentiment with the local restaurants you visited while here. The Cape is a special place and it's important for everyone to do what they can to keep it that way.
thank you!
Chris
This cottage was a lovely, relaxing place to stay. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. A small cottage in a wooded, quiet area, though not far from several small cottages in the same complex. I was there by myself half the time and felt very safe and was then joined by a friend, and it was fine for two people. Loved the bike path nearby, the PB Boulangerie, and several of the beaches, and the hosts were friendly and responsive. A few caveats: while clean, the cottage felt like it hadn't had a thorough cleaning in a while; I was disappointed by the leftover fire waste in the fireplace, which stopped me from using it, and the difficulty with the indoor shower (if curtain is one inch out of place water goes all over floor). (The outdoor shower is great, but with no light in that shower it's hard to use at night). Overall, a great place (that could benefit from a little attention).
This is a cute, cozy cabin for a small family or couple. It's well stocked with everything to have a good time. It would be fun to rent for a week in the summer. My only complaint is that linens and towels are not provided which, for us, was quite inconvenient since we flew in from the West Coast and arrived late on a Sunday evening.
