Beautiful spot. In the summer the canola fields are blooming right across the street. Everything you need in the house. Lots of space for everyone to hang out. I can't recall if it's in the description, but the owners do stay in a barn/house just to the side of the property but we never saw them. 15 minutes to Whitefish through some pretty back roads.

We appreciate your 10 out of 10 rating of Stillwater Log Home and hope to welcome you back for another stay. Thank you for choosing Natural Retreats!
Very clean home with well stocked pantry with everything you need in kitchen, bedding and laundry. Quiet and gorgeous setting that our whole family enjoyed!
15 minutes into Kalispell, 40 min from West Glacier. What a fabulous property! Our host, Sue was wonderful. The house(real log cabin) is beautiful and the most well appointed STR I've ever stayed at. Rural setting pretty close to town, we had deer in the yard every day and saw the local elk herd(30 elk) grazing in a field just down the road. Unforgettable experience and highly recommended.
The perfect setting for a relaxing getaway in a cold snowy week in Montana. Loved it! Perhaps be back with more of the family to really make use of this amazing place. -Thanks-
Fabulous experience staying at Stillwater Log home! Fred and Sue have thought of everything and then some! Home was spotlessly clean, incredibly well equipped and we arrived to fresh baked goods as a sweet welcome! The property is beautiful and very quiet. We enjoyed the deck as much as the house. You truly don’t need to bring a thing, except your clothes, when you stay at this property! Great for a large group too. Thank you Fred and Sue for sharing your piece of paradise with us!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, log home. It was great for two families with kids & had everything we needed. The big yard out back was perfect for the kids to play. The location was great - not too far from groceries, restaurants, etc. but in a quiet neighborhood so you could just enjoy the beauty of Montana. We had a lovely visit with the owners, Fred & Sue, & we enjoyed our nightly visits from the deer. A favorite vacation by far!
The place is great! If you’re looking for a real Montana feel this place is for you. Log cabin with game mounts and a real wood fireplace. About 10 minutes from Whitefish and 15 mins to Kalispell- best of both worlds! Needless to say I’ll be back. Two thumbs up!
Property was absokutely beautiful and very comfortable. The cabin is fully stocked with anything you, your family, kids might want or need. Just bring your food. Fred and Sue were available for any needs but we had total privacy as well. The location was ideal close to Whitefish and Kalispell and half hour to Glacier National park. Lots of space if you bring kids for them to run around. Lots of games videos etc if you want to just cozy up to the fire. Will definitely return to this property if we find ourselves back in the area. Recommend highly
The cabin was immaculate and well stocked. It was stocked with everything you keep in your own home. I would suggest, see what you need at the cabin before you purchase anything because it is so well stocked they probably already have it for you.. The host was very meticulous. She has thought of everything. If you have a questions about anything she already has the answer for you in her binder on the table. Also, Suzie and Fred had a homemade Fathead Cherry pie waiting for us when we got in the cabin and it was delicious. We seen ducks, deer, pheasants, turkeys, and an eagle near the cabin. The cabin was on a big lot and was only 15 minutes from town and they had every store and restaurant that you would find in a big town. We did a bus tour of glacier national Park. We visited Lake McDonald Lodge and did a boat tour on Lake McDonald. My niece and nephew went kayaking and white water rafting. We did an ebike tour to “Going to the Sun Road” with Glacier Hikes and Bikes”. I’m a 56 year-old female, out of shape, and haven’t got on a bike in 30 years. It was 15 miles going up, then we had lunch, and came back down and I had no problems with it. It was awesome. I would do it again in a heartbeat. We also did the flathead Alpine coaster. We are from Louisiana and you know how we feel about our food so when we stopped in at DeSoto’s Grill it did not disappoint. Everyone in Montana was so friendly. We are already looking forward to our next trip to this cabin. The best host ever.

We're thrilled you had such an incredible experience at Stillwater Log Home. It sounds like you packed an amazing adventure into your stay, from the alpine coaster to the e-bike tour. We love hearing about guests connecting with the wildlife and exploring our beautiful area. We hope to see you again and thank you for choosing Natural Retreats!
The host was very easy to communicate with and they replied back very quickly. This property truly had everything we could have asked for and more. The home was incredibly well stocked — spices, toiletries, paper towels, Kleenex, firewood, extra linens, even Saran wrap, aluminum foil, ziplock bags and parchment paper. Every detail was thoughtfully considered. The loft was the perfect space for kids, and the board games were a huge bonus for family time. We were warmly welcomed with special treats upon arrival, which made us feel right at home. The owners, Fred and Sue were extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and easy to get in touch with. They checked in to make sure we were okay without ever being intrusive — the perfect balance. Little touches like hand soap pumps in every bathroom and the kitchen really showed how well cared for the space is.The property itself is stunning — a peaceful, large lot with a beautiful river right out back. It was quiet, relaxing, and perfect for our 3 families. Our stay was so wonderful and Fred even made a bonfire for us for after a day snowboarding so our kids could roast S’mores. We can’t wait to come back and experience this place again in the summer. Thank you Fred and Sue for the hospitality. Highly recommend!

We are truly delighted that you shared how much you enjoyed your stay at Stillwater Log Home. It is especially nice to know how much you appreciated how well-stocked the home is and that both the indoor and outdoor spaces were enjoyed. Thank you for choosing Natural Retreats! We will look forward to seeing you back in Whitefish.
We were fortunate to meet Sue when we arrived at the home. What a lovely woman! Warm and welcoming, and gave great information on local events, hikes, walks etc. Then we enter the home and it is quite nice. It is much more spacious than it appears from the outside. Great gathering spaces but also generous sized bedrooms and bathrooms. The home is stocked to the hilt! I've never experienced anything like it. From tin foil to Kleenex, spices and appliances, baking dishes to coffee makers, soap to makeup remover, this home is packed and you don't have to bring everything with you. That is so nice when traveling across three states! The property is well manicured and natural at the same time. The view across the river is entertaining with bucks, doe and fawn, eagles, sandhill cranes, pheasant, rising fish, very cool. At night the property is quiet. Far enough from roads to make for a peaceful stay. I highly recommend staying at this cabin. Sue also baked a fabulous fresh cherry pie left for us in the cabin. Very kind and delicious! Thank you Sue for all you did to make our stay special. All the best from the gang.
This was by far the best rental home we have ever stayed at. We had 11 people stay and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The host had the property completely stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen had every pot, pan and spice you could think of. There are plenty of extra towels, pillows and blankets as well. The drive was about 45 minutes to an hour but I would recommend this home to anyone going to visit glacier national park. The route is so scenic you don’t notice the drive time at all.
Great property. Host has everything you could ever need for you during your stay!

We are pleased that you had everything you needed to make your stay at Stillwater Log Home comfortable and enjoyable. We would love to welcome you back anytime!
We loved the Log cabin- perfect for large families! There is plenty of space indoors and out for everyone! The only critiqueI would provide is more towels for guests in bathrooms-we found some of them in the laundry room downstairs and it would have been nice if they were located in each bathroom and there were a few more. Other than that- I would highly recommend this place!
This log home was outstanding in every respect. Not only did they have an excellent kitchen, completely stocked, but they had many spices and grocery staples in stock. The home was absolutely gorgeous and the owner, Susie, was the most pleasant person. We really enjoyed her visits. If i was going to visit that area again, I would certainly stay there. For
anyone wanting to enjoy the true Montana experience, this is where I would suggest beginning. I just can't rave about this home enough. Thanks y'all.
We all (my wife and I and our two son's and their families) had a wonderful time, so much so that we are talking about booking again for next year.
The home was well appointed and clean the property very well maintained thus providing the optimal Montana experience.
Our family consists of 7 adults and 5 children. The cabin absolutely met all our needs. The yard gave the children lots and lots of room to play. The cabin was equipt with a big volley ball net and ball, whiffle balls and bat, badminton , other balls and a large storage container.
The kids loved it all. There are plenty of chairs and. a very comfortable eating area for evening meals outside. We used the grill and really enjoyed the food . They supplied utensils for the grill too..
the kids really enjoyed the deer coming into the yard . We took several walks and enjoyed the outdoors..
There is also a river running beside the cabin on the property. You can fish but we didn’t catch anything. Some trees in the river so our lures kept getting hung up.
We visited Glacier Park- a beautiful place with amazing views and hikes.-lots of waterfalls to hike to- one day we drove through Glacier ( make sure you get your three day pass on line a day or two before you go - they sell out fast ! ) then the second day we hiked the trails.. we also hung at the beach (Whitefish) and played in the water. You can rent paddle boards etc there too.. we rented a Pontoon for the day on Flathead Lake. Had an awesome time. We enjoy fishing too so we fished off our Pontoon. Very fun. We enjoyed getting to know the owner. She was very friendly and helpful. Had an amazing time. Hope this review helps other families know the possibilities!
This is a great property for families or friends to gather and use to see and do all the wonderful things in NW Montana. The house has everything you need and more, was clean and well maintained and had lots of space to gather and enjoy!
House was wonderful and I can't say enough nice things about it. We had 11 family members from 3 states (8 Adults and 3 teenagers) We played family games with the vollyball net and touch football. (All Supplies were at house). Wonderful place to stay.
This place more than exceeded our expectations!! The house had everything we were looking for plus more. I would absolutely recommend other family and friends to stay at this property. Thank you!!
