The house is lovely, so lovely in fact that I wouldn't mind living in it permanently as the layout suited our family so perfectly. The first night was very windy, which did make sleeping difficult, but that would have been the case with any house in an open field in that wind. The location was also ideal - close enough to shops and restaurants, but rural enough to feel like a real breakaway from city life. The only thing I would have changed is to maybe have one or two of the wardrobes unlocked so that we didn't have to live out of our suitcases so much and more cleaning supplies (sponges, clothes, and maybe a proper brush and dustpan) to more easily clean up the odd mess.

We enjoyed our stay.
The oven had an oven tray and grill covered in fat from a previous user. Great hot water and pressure. There wasn’t enough hanging facilities for clothing. Almost all of the wardrobes and the pantry are locked closed. Yes the fridge door opening is annoying. The heat pump was excellent. Tv remote needs new batteries.
We had a happy time at Totara. The property is very up-to-date with a really comfortable and attractive living area, interesting art and everything (almost) that we required for our two-day stay while attending a family wedding. I thank you for the experience. There are suggestions for a few matters that could improve the stay:Directions: The Tin Hut has gone - there's a new business in the building. it would help to change that in your directions. you say 'not long after the Tin Hut' should be specific - we went sailing past the first time. It would help to know ahead that Moroa Rd is gravel ahead of Totara. The 1st driveway after Line 1 was hard to see with the long grasses. The house: We found the lock box difficult because it is so very low down and shaded by the steps so a torch was needed, and the crouching down only comfortable for our young agile people.Inside: I am sure you know the frig doors are on the wrong side, causing banged knuckles or a high or low reach to get into the frig. A coffee plunger would have been nice. The lighting is harsh. one or two wall lights would be more comfortable at night. The same for the bedrooms (although the main bedroom lighting system was absolutely fine). No single chairs in the bedrooms for sitting on to do up shoes etc. The only way to hang clothes (eg wedding finery etc) was the rack in the main bedroom:). Thank you for a very pleasant stay.
