About this property

Large and spacious with all modern appliances and a 9.2x5.6x1.2 m pool

Gîte de Monarque, at Gîtes des Papillons in Correze, sleeps 6 with ease as it has 3 bedrooms, 3 double beds (2 in one room) and 2 single beds.
It has character features like exposed beams and it is equipped with all the modern facilities you need including a flat screen HD TV, Blu-Ray player.

We also offer free very fast, door to door fibre internet and Wi-Fi throughout.

It is set in 2 acres of land mainly laid to grass with a lovely swimming pool that has a terrace with loungers and parasols and a gazebo for when you want to escape the sun completely.
It is a secluded area with plenty of room for children to kick a ball and run around in.

There is an swimming pool 9.2mx5.6mx1.2m with alarm. This is cleaned daily. It is shared by 2 gîtes. Other gite is restricted to max. 4 people. There is a shower and foot bath.

Around the pool are plenty of loungers, parasols and we have noodles for children to play with in the pool! Inflatables are allowed bring you own. To one side of the pool is a gazebo for extra shade. A paddling pool is available for very young children.

There is an outside separate eating area for this gîte which has table and chairs, parasol and BBQ.

We have a number of outside games available for guests such as swing ball, badminton, cricket and football nets .

Superbe semaine dans gite spacieux, au calme, avec grand jardin et piscine! Nous recommandons !

IDEAL POUR LES FAMILLES Nous avons passé une semaine de rêve avec nos 2 enfants 5 et 2 ans, dans le gite Monarque de Martin et Michelle. L'accueil a été très sympathique, Martin s'est montré très disponible pour des conseils sur les environs, nos demandes de matériel (notamment outils pour vélo de notre fils). Le gite d'allure ancienne et authentique est très bien spacieux, bien équipé. Malgré la forte chaleur, il fait frais à l'intérieure grâce aux murs épais. La terrasse pour manger dehors + barbecue donne sur le grand jardin et la piscine, dont nous avons profité tous les jours. Beaucoup de choses à faire aux environs (villages médiévaux, Haras Pompadour, jardins Colette ...). La semaine est passée beaucoup trop vite, nous reviendrons !

Great family vacations !

The place is as described, very calm (re-discovering silence is a wonderful experience for us living in suburbs !), in the middle of the countryside, yet only 15 minutes away from large supermarkets. I have to say that the other gîte (the house is divided in two separate parts), was not rented during the week of our stay. Along with the pool, the very large lawn is a terrific playground for kids. We have appreciated the comfort of finding good quality bedding and towels, and the kindness of Simone, the sister of the owner - living next to the property. She has been very responsive and helpful when needed.

We had a great time at the gite. The house is very well equiped and has everything you need. The caretakers are very friendly and helpful. Definitely take time to visit Rocamadour, gouffre de Padirac and Oradour sur Glane. We would definitely recommend this gite to anyone who does not mind driving a little bit

'The Perfect Getaway'

We had a fabulous week in the Gite de Monarque enjoying its excellent facilities, the tranquility of the area and also the easy access to our old holiday haunts of the Dordogne. Simone and Dave's suggestions of places to visit were extremely helpful - We thoroughly enjoyed the evening farmer's market in Segur Le Chateau as well as the horse racing at Pompadour. Kayaking on the River Dronne starting at Brantome (Brantome Canoe) is highly recommended although a change of clothes is a definite necessity! We had 3 children in their early 20s with us and they loved every minute of this holiday which says it all! We look forward to returning.

Peaceful Rural Location

Simone, Dave and the children were perfect hosts - couldn't have been more helpful. Accurate description of gite regarding location, layout, facilities etc. Gite is in a lovely rural location with lots of space around. Great to be able to sit outside and dine. Extra addition of outdoor games such as badminton and swing ball really good. Lovely pool. Gite well equipped and spacious. Highlights:- Evening farmer's market in Segur Le Chateau, horse racing at Pompadour, chateau at Hautefort and pretty village of St. Yriex La Perche. We found two fabulous traditional low key French restaurants: - Plan d'Eau D'Arfeuille next to the lake at Arfeuille and La Table d'Erillac in the square at Hautefort - both doing fabulous, simple but very tasty French fare. Suggest booking to avoid disappointment.

The wow factor!

We have just enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Gite de Monarque. It has the wow factor as you arrive and is situated in idyllic surroundings. Simone and family were the perfect hosts and made the stay very easy and comfortable. We enjoyed an evening of dining at the marche at Segur le Chateau and were made to feel very welcome by all the villagers. We definitely look forward to returning next year.

We are Michelle and Martin. We bought Gites des Papillons end of 2013 after we visited our relatives nearby and we fell in love with it. Michelle was a beauty therapist now retired and I am also now retired after spending 40 years working in agriculture. We have two grown up daughters and a 7 year grandson.

Why they chose this property

It is set in the beautiful area of Correze just 5 km from the more famously known Dordogne. It is a quiet rural setting but just 15 minutes away from 3 supermarkets. The area close by has many beautiful villages, Segur le Chateau just 10 minutes away where you can enjoy the local Marche every Monday. Here you can enjoy wine and food outdoors supplied by local farmers with music and dancing and meet other visitors and the locals.

What makes this property unique

The gite is in a converted barn and retains many of the rustic features. However we have ensured we have all the modern facilities to make your visit very enjoyable. The pool is a great favourite with the children as well as the large area of grass to run around in, play football, badminton, boules or swings.
