Many thanks for your five star review! Very glad you enjoyed your stay. There’s a smoke detector in the stairway and monoxide detector in the lounge. 😊
Lovely little cottage in Matlock
When we arrived we were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and biscuits, a lovely personal touch, thank you for this.
A very sweet property at the top of a hill, people with walking problems may struggle walking back up the hill but we just jumped a taxi.
Everything you need in the cottage, two lovely bedrooms both doubles.
Very large bathroom with shower and a bath.
It was a shame it was raining the whole time we was there but it didn't spoil anything.
I would highly recommend this cottage

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review!
A very wonderful quirky cottage on 3 levels. We cannot fault the cleanliness of the property and we were greeted with a box of biscuits -thank you so much.
It was lovely and warm with large comfortable beds.
Regarding the area, we were warmly welcomed into a local pub and the regulars chatted away to us as though they had always known us and our attendance at the local church on Sunday the same.
What a very friendly town.
Would definitely return...a wonderful few days break in Derbyshire
Gate Cottage is lovely and a bit quirky with one bedroom being downstairs, but this wasn't a problem for us.
Similarly there are only two dining chairs although, again, this didn't matter to us, as we ate at the local, excellent restaurants.
Car parking is off road but a bit tight if you have a large vehicle.
All in all a wonderful few days in a great area!
We met Jo, who is very friendly and helpful, and who left a Welcome Pack for us. Thanks again Jo.
