Booking was easy with great communication. The setting is perfect - literally right beside the water and the lodges all have their own enclosed balcony/terrace area with outside seating and private hot tub which the kids loved.
There is a lochside path (continue past all the lodges walking away from the hotel) which was great for walking the dogs, and there’s a large Co-op in Ballachulish just 5 mins drive along the road for everything you need food and drink-wise.
Food and service at the hotel was fsntastic the night we had dinner there. You’re just a few minutes away from Glencoe itself with spectacular photo opportunities and walks, plus a brilliant visitor centre with dog-friendly café.
The lodge seemed a bit tired in terms of decor and didn’t look or smell brilliantly fresh and clean. This was maybe the main reason we felt our stay was a bit expensive for what it was, particularly in mid-February when the weather is usually dreadful. Ultimately I guess you’re paying for the location, the drop dead gorgeous views (and they really are special) and the hot tub.
We could have done with somewhere to hang towels and swimming stuff/clothes to dry. A welcome folder with some more details about where to visit, what’s nearby and how everything works wouldn’t be a bad idea too.
The lodge was very clean and comfortable. The views were incredible- nothing better than sitting in a hot tub overlooking the sea and the Scottish mountains. Perfect!
The sunset over the loch was spectacular. Be aware that the restaurant is not equipped to deal with allergies. I was disappointed that restaurant was unable to segregate my food from any shellfish cross-contamination, and I went hungry to bed.
