Taigh Dollaig

Taigh Dolag is a traditional croft house that offers modern comfort in a secluded location with exceptional views. Situated in an elevated position in Eyre on the eastern shore of Loch Snizort Beag on the northern coast of Skye, the location commands outstanding views out to the Minch and the Outer Hebrides in the distance.

With only a 7 minute drive to Portree, the island capital, and a 10 minute drive to the Western Isles ferry terminal, the house is ideally located for those wishing to tour the island, and further afield.

With modern furnishings throughout, the two bedroom house offers a comfortable base to explore Skye, or just to relax and take in the magical scenery. There is a comfortable living room with a wood burning stove, one double bedroom, one kingsize bedroom, bathroom and a large fully equipped Kitchen diner with french doors. The house has central heating and a private garden with seating area.

Located on a working croft, we will be tending to livestock daily and are unable to accommodate pets. Private parking is available. The house can accommodate a maximum of 4 people.

We experienced another enjoyable stay in this home. I loved the quietness and scenic views that the location offers. The home is quipped with all items and appliances that you may need. We also loved lighting a fire in the evening in the stove in the lounge. Very much looking forward to returning in the near future.

We LOVED our time in this adorable home. The sunsets were beautiful, it was quiet and calm, the sheep and horses around were adorable, and it was clean and safe feeling. Thank you for such a welcome retreat in the middle of our trip.

We had an amazing time visiting the Isle of Skye and the Taigh Dolag house was an amazing place to come back to after a day of hiking and exploring! It was just so cozy and felt like home as soon as we walked in! The views were incredible, sunsets at night, fires in the morning to warm up the house - I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay! Don't hesitate to book this house!

The croft was clean and well appointed, with a breath taking view! Being at the end of the road, it was very private. We did lose power one night, but Joan was very communicative throughout the outage. Our wuestions were answered promptly and the location was perfect for our site seeing itinerary.

Extremely quiet, the view from the property is great, and it's about 10min drive from Portree. The kitchen is great and the kitchenware is of great quality. The house warms up quickly.Great stay. Note the actual location shown on the website is slightly off compared with the real location (about 100m away).

Great Property

Dailag Tolag was an excellent place to call home for 5 days. The Croft was well equiped and very clean. Even had egg cups!! It was very easy to access and really quiet.The views very amazing. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

Scenic sundowns and silent nights

We really enjoyed the week on the Isle of Skye. The location was perfect for us. Away from the town of Portree but close enough for shopping and dining. We could reach all sights as it is located centrally. We would recommend some more furniture outside due to the sunny and hot wheather this year.

Our stay in Taigh Dolag was an exhilarating experience.The picturesque view from room was always refreshing along with the comfortable warm cozy rooms and beds .The dining room was very spacious and lovely.We loved playing scrabble and card games.The informative books, travel magazines on Skye were lovely to refer for the hikes and explore various places in Skye. We would love to come back to Taigh Dolag once again whenever we visit Skye. Highly recommended for families!

Taigh Dolag is a perfectly updated and equipped authentic croft in an amazing location. Views from the croft over Loch Snizort and out to Harris will take your breath away! Stunning sunsets! It's location is perfect for accessing all parts of Skye.

The coziest house in the Isle of Skye

Our family of 4 ( parents with 2 adult children ) had the privilege to stay at this most amazing cottage for 4 days this last week. We can’t recommend enough to anyone who is planning on traveling to Isle of Skye. The house is perfectly situated on a hillside with amazing view of herds of sheep glazing in the pasture fields right outside of your door. The house is super clean and the bedding is extremely comfortable. I need to get the same bedding for my own house no need to think twice, book this house for your upcoming stay in the Isle of Skye and thank me later !

This house has been in our family since it was built in 1945. It was our mother's family home and is named after our grandmother, Dolina (Taigh Dolag is the Gaelic for Dolina's house).
