It was a very clean, comfortable and well equipped property. The history of the place extremely interesting too.Saw red squrirrels and watched the swallows gather and then leave on their journey south. Lovely. We stayed here as we were attending a familt wedding in Cupar.
A lovely property and very clean. Loads to do in the surrounding area. We were having a girls' weekend for family from Glasgow and Dundee. We had a lovely time. Great value for money.
The place is lovely and such a great location. Very spacious with everything you could possibly need! Check in was easy. Great access glasgow and Edinburgh... we went to the park and ride and got the tram to Edinburgh. Loch leven larder is a must visit too!I would definitely return.Only slight down side was a partial blocked view of the loch. But that cannot be helped unfortunately. Thank you again for a great stay x

Need a car
The house is remote, not close to anywhere and is not close to the lake walking distance around 1:20 mins in car 10 minsThe house is big and spacious. For us was ok because we used just sleep and go. We was visiting different towns... You can't see the lake from there, you need to walk a good 35 minute to view point to see the lake in the distance
We had a lovely time staying at Glenlomond as a family of six adults, one toddler and two dogs. Great accommodation that was well equipped, stunning views to Loch Leven and close to travel links and points of interest like Craigtoun Country Park, St Andrew’s, Edinburgh, Loch Leven and the nature reserve. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending and hope to be back one day. Thankyou Kathryn for letting us stay in your home.

Thank you Sarah for your lovely review. I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay and managed to fit some lovely places to see in. Hopefully you will return one day. Take care Kathryn
We had a lovely time exploring parts of Fife and local walks, including the Loch Leven heritage trail, Up to John Knox's pulpit and beyond to west Lomond. These lovely walks were accessible from the house without the car. The Larder was great for small gifts and local produce and delicious lunch and coffees, also within walking distance of the house. Wonderful views over Loch Leven from the sitting room and patio area. House was great and spacious for a family gathering of 7.

Thank you Fiona for choosing Glenlomond for your holiday stay and I'm glad you enjoyed what the area had to offer you.
Many Thanks Kathryn
Absolutely beautiful property. We stayed for the New year with friends that we haven't seen for a long time. The house is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It's very spacious and just lovely, but what made it extra special was the gorgeous Christmas tree set up in the lounge which is stunning and comfortable. The house was warm and relaxing and we loved the original floors and the shower room was the best.
Can't wait to return, maybe in the summer so we can make use of the patio area at the back.
Loved it

So glad you enjoyed your stay over New Year at Glenlomond. It's a nice place to be at that time of year. We would welcome you back anytime and Summer up at Glenlomond is a different experience again. Take care Kathryn
This property is exquisite. Beautifully decorated, incredible views of Loch Leven and very well stocked kitchen. Little extras, to get us started (coffee, sugar, etc), extra linens, etc.
We did not have a car and that was a challenge, however we did a long hike directed to by the neighbors, and later in our stay they offered to chauffer us to to Falkland and the castle. Lynda and Eileen certainly offered transportation above and beyond to make our stay that much more enjoyable. ( they even post a left item to us) Thank you.
Kathryn was very responsive to a simple request. She came in a very timely manner.
I would highly recommend this place to relax, hike, and visit roads less travelled.
PS Visit the Toll Tavern for DELICIOUS food and say hi to Neil.
Poor communication with owner when I had a problem
No hot water from Saturday. Phoned and messaged owner who did not contact me back. Phoned Neighbour who I was told to contact if problem but she didn’t answer her phone. No hot water from Saturday and left without hot water on Sunday. Internet went down so not able to watch other channels upstairs.
Such a great place to stay, located in a quiet friendly community and central to many things to do locally. Short distance to Edinburgh. Inside the house is amazing with lots of room, with great facilities
This is a very clean and spacious property in a peaceful setting with all the amenities a family needs.
The views from the house over Loch Leven are stunning (we were blessed with good weather) and the house is is very convenient for the Loch and all the activities it has to offer.
We used the Loch Leven Larder and Loch Leven cycle hire, both of which are no more than a 20 minute walk from the house (5 minutes by car) and offered excellent service and choice of products.
Highlight of the stay for us was the warm welcome and food at the nearby Balgedie Toll pub. That should be a 'must' for anyone staying in the property!
Absolutely lovely house with the most stunning views, (even the children appreciated the beautiful scenery!!) The house is lovely, very well equipped and spotlessly clean, in a lovely quiet village, Very Tranquil. The next door neighbours were so lovely and friendly and recommended plenty of places to see and visit with the children, which we did and they throughly enjoyed, especially the paddleboarding at lochore meadows. We all had a fantastic time away and will definitely be booking again, will also be highly recommending to all our friends and family. Thank you very much for such a lovely stay.
Had a fabulous weekend the views from the property are stunning and the property itself is beautiful
Had a wonderful stay and will definitely recommend to friends and family the property is the most welcoming , comfortable and best equipped we have stayed in.
Lovely house set in amazing scenery. Everything we needed was there. Nice garden area to relax in. We had our dog too and there were plenty places to walk him. We were lucky with the weather too. Definitely recommend to friends.

About the host
Hosted by Kathryn Macrae
Hi my name is Kathryn and this property was the family home which I was brought up in from the age of 12 years. Due to our love for the home and it’s location we decided to offer it to guests as a holiday retreat. I moved on from Glenlomond to start my nursing career in 1996 and then had family of my own. Due to the wonderful memories of Glenlomond we decided to keep it to allow family, friends and guests to also enjoy what it has to offer.
