characterful
This is an interesting holiday home with good access to motorways but because of its location better directions to the house from the motorway would be helpful. Due to the lack of road signs, street names and the one-way system we had some difficulty finding the house. Satnav may have helped .The separate kitchen annexe required a degree of catering dexterity when it came to early morning tea or a bedtime drinkbut otherwise was not a problem
Clients should be aware that the pol is not available until June. It does not make this clear in the advert .Stefano made an exception for us and we were very grateful because the weather was warm and sunny..

Spacious, attractive and in a lovely location but......
Vania and Steffano were always helpful and exceedingly courteous. The house has good air conditioning, a large garden, wifi is excellent and overall a comfortable house. It is close to the nearest town (you can walk there in ten minutes) which is attractive, has lively bars, decent restaurants and there is also a local trattoria three minutes walk away which serves good food and wine. Our two week visit however was considerably marred by a neighbouring property which seemed to be a log cutting factory. They started work sometimes as early as 7.30 a.m. with the sound of heavy machinery and continued throughout the day and most weekday evenings until 9.45 p.m. The sound of a screeching saw did not help matters nor did the considerable acrid smoke wafting over . At the beginning of the second week we considered moving out but instead opted to spend two nights in Naxos mid week. We asked our hosts about this via WhatsApp but received no reply. We can say that if we had known or been made aware of this factory next door we would have sought another place to stay. A pity as this characterful house has many advantages."

I'm sorry for the inconveniences encountered by guests. The acrid smoke, which I have found myself, unfortunately came from a machine that had broken down. The problem was overcome with the repair of the vehicle after a few days.
I also regret that our guests (most welcome) have been disturbed by the noise produced by the sawmill which is located about 150 meters from the house. I can only point out that in over four years of hospitality no guest has ever complained about noise coming from the sawmill. This is apparent from all the reviews also produced from other sites as a booking, airbnb, for example.
