A lovely place in a central location, perfect for exploring Dungeness.
A lovely place in a central location, perfect for exploring Dungeness. The only negative comment that I have is that the lounge is compact, which I guessed it would be. The sofa will only seat 3 if you sit side by side, there is a side chair but it is not a nice comfy armchair so the cosy nights in the evening by the lovely log burner meant people sat on the floor !

Everything we wanted for a peaceful week away.
Everything we wanted for a peaceful week away. Although the lighthouse fog horn sounded the first night, we were able to turn off from the noise.

A wonderful place to relax. You choose Dungeness because you enjoy remoteness and nature. Birds are great, flora very different. RSPB reserve also good.

Superb holiday and very special location, despite suboptimal weather conditions during the weekend of stay, still plenty of fun and activities in the area. The cottage itself is very comfortable and tidy and the location is fantastic.

Helvetia is an old-fashioned cottage with a little conservatory.
Helvetia is an old-fashioned cottage with a little conservatory. It is almost at the foot of the new lighthouse. The views from the back through the conservatory are stunning and it's 2 minutes stroll to the water. The cottage has all that you need for a trip to the coast. Perhaps not all mod cons but this adds to the charm. We arrived to find milk and wine in the fridge, bread and tea/coffee in the cupboard, and a gorgeous homemade cake.
Cosy cottage and a lovely place to have a little break in lovely fresh sea air. Pubs in walking distance where you can enjoy lovely pub grub and excellent local beers. Also a short walk away is the Dymchurch/Hythe miniature railway terminus station at Dungeness, which is brilliant for kids.

Perfect location.
Perfect location... open the door and walk straight out onto the shingle and down to the sea. Great if you have some fishing in mind, or just a stroll along the sea shore. Very cosy cottage. Local fresh fish shop just 2 minutes in the car and a convenience store a short drive away. Very close to the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch narrow gauge railway station and the local pubs. Dungeness is a very atmospheric place. We had some wonderful sunrises over the sea and beautiful sunsets across the RSPB reserve which is a short drive away. Best time of year to stay as apart from the fishermen there were few people about. It can be a lot busier in the summer. Saw guillemots and Great White Egrets and hundreds of cormorants! The owners had left us some great treats, home made cake and a bottle of fiz to celebrate our Christmas. We had a lovely time.
