Review
Great place to stay with just some minor issues with furniture comfort And the most difficult front door , which needs to be properly adjusted and equipped with a door pull caused issue on every attempt to lock and open

A very restful weekend away
We enjoyed our stay at PS1. It’s a beautifully designed property. We felt very cosy and warm with the fire lit. We also loved Dungeness. The only let down is the bed in the master bedroom. The mattress is thin and squeaks! For a property of this calibre and price, this isn’t really good enough.

Don't stay here if you want to sleep well.
We love the bleak calm of Dungeness and we loved the PS1 main living area. A carefully curated space in which we could relax away from demanding work. We were however astonished to discover that the sleeping arrangements were in stark contrast to the general vibe. They were really not good. We had read several reviews drawing attention to the hard mattresses and pillows, and after calling the agency we took our own pillows which partly solved that problem . Unfortunately we were able to feel the springs in the (noisy) mattress. The mattress arrangement in the second bedroom - two single mattresses inserted sideways into the double bed frame - was not comfortable. The duvets were cheaply filled affairs that were far too heavy for the summer. On our last night there was an overnight storm. We then discovered that the beautiful and very long French windows would not close properly at the top; there was a centimetre or two gap between window and frame. It proved impossible to close it and so the wind whistled and howled through the gap throughout the night. In addition the felt curtain arrangement, which ended roughly a metre from the top of the windows was entirely ineffective against the dawn light streaming in. Upon arrival we found the bathroom sink was blocked and upon use oozed black matter; this required a handyman who cleared the blockage but left the sink leaking and unusable.. We have privately reviewed the PS1 and been informed that the owner has considered our views and suggestions but has no current plans to take any action. That is a great shame.

Thoughts.
Overall a fantastic and relaxing stay, so cannot complain about that. Great, high quality interior, and communication from the hosts was perfect. I had a small issue with the heating (was far to hot), sent a text and all was explained/resolved within a couple of hours. Things no so happy with though: - Beds, not good quality mattresses. For the price you’re paying I expect mattresses like a good hotel, not cheap or old ones.. - No washing machine (that I could find) - Lack of basic kitchen things like tin foil/cling film/kitchen towels/cleaning products and salt and pepper. (Everything else provided though) Those issues aside, I would go back again.
