About this property
Entire Beach House, beautiful sea views & direct beach access on the Kent coast
Let the beach become your garden. Direct access to miles of natural sandy beaches barely touched by commercialization. This spacious, family home has been our weekend/holiday bolt hole since we bought it newly built 25 years ago. The large upstairs sitting room with balcony offers uninterrupted views across the Channel instilling a sense of calm and relaxation. Equipped with 60'' LCD TV, DVD plus netflix . Downstairs, a terrific kitchen/breakfast room provides the hub of the home where everyone can gather to cook the cockles collected or create pictures from the myriad of different shells found on the beach. A small garden at the rear provides outdoor dining for those warmer days but it is the gate directly to the beach that really provides the icing on the cake. For golfers you are only 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes drive away from Littlestone Golf Club with it's links course and 10 minutes drive from Lydd driving range. Dungeness is just a 5 minute drive where you can explore the artists cabins, climb the old lighthouse and enjoy fish and chips at the Pilot restaurant. Listen out for the little steam trains as they plow their way through the marshes before arriving at Dungeness.

Local Attractions: The famous Romney Hythe and Dymchurch, miniature steam train stops less than 1 mile from the house. Trains run all year between Dungerness and Hythe with 'special days' operating throughout the year. These include Thomas the Tank engine days and Santa Specials.
Listen out for the toot toot of the whistle as the train steams it way through Romney Marsh.
Visit Dungerness and climb to the top of the old lighthouse. On route stop to view the houses at Dungerness built using train carriages as the hub. Check out the cactus garden of the late Derek Jarmen (film director).
Take the steam train to Dymchurch and visit the funfair and arcade particularly suitable for younger children.
'Penny Falls' which now swallow 2p coins still provide plenty of excitement for young and old.
Dining and Drinking: An abundance of pubs, restaurants and the famous 'Pilot' fish and chip restaurant are all close by the nearest being the local pub the Seahorse. For serious ale drinkers, we will, with a little prompting, reveal the name and location of a local pub unchanged for nearly 100 years where the words 'ice' and alcopop' do not exist......
Update: Our property was previously named ‘T’s Beach House’.

About the host
Hosted by Therese Oliver
I puurchased the house after falling in love with it on a weekend visit to Greatstone. One toddler secured the deal and 2 more enjoyed so many weekends and holidays there. Late teens lost interest but now grandchildren have brought the house back to life! Become a dog owner also had a big influence! I don't think I could ever part with this house in my lifetime and live in hope that my children and grandchildren will feel the same in the future. Yes, we all love to travel abroad and to new places but the Beach House stays in our hearts and brings us back again and again. It is not just a house, it is our home. I sincerely hope you enjoy sharing it with us x
