About this property
Grade 2 Listed Countryside Cottage close to the famous Suffolk Heritage Coast
Meadow View is a refurbished and well maintained Grade 2 listed cottage situated in a lovely position on the edge of the village of Earl Soham in the heart of the glorious Suffolk countryside, enjoying wonderful views to the rear over meadowland and undulating farmland.
Within walking distance of Earl Soham's Victoria Pub and Mr Hutton's Butchers and Delicatessen. Also a short drive to Suffolk Heritage Coast. Sleeps up to 5 people (1 double and 3 single beds).
Meadow View is a Grade II listed 18th Century former agricultural workers cottage. Internally, there are exposed timbers throughout some of the rooms and an attractive brick fireplace with multi-fuel stove in the sitting room. As well as the sitting room, there is a spacious kitchen/dining room. The Wren kitchen with marble worktops was recently installed. Off the dining room is a lean-to Crittall conservatory, which is a great place to relax and enjoy the countryside views over the garden.
On the first floor are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom, as well as a modern bathroom. Bed 1 has a double bed. Bed 2 has two singles (which can be converted to a double on request). Bed 3 is a single.
Outside There is a pretty lawned garden to the front and a larger rear garden laid mainly to lawn with fabulous views over undulating meadows and farmland. You can also (conditions permitting) view stunning sunsets and stargaze across the dark sky.
There is a designated parking space to the rear plus one visitor parking space on a first come basis.
We are around 30 minutes from the world famous Snape Maltings - one of the world's leading centres of music and a visitor attraction of outstanding national beauty.
For birdwatchers, RSPB Minsmere is also well worth a visit. However, from the garden it is possible with patience and a bit of luck to see barn owls, red kites, deer and a whole host of other birds and wildlife.

Lovely tastefully furnished cottage in a rural setting. Host Sue & Richard were very helpful & Sue baked her guests a home made cake which I thought was a lovely idea. Would definitely recommend!
We loved staying at this beautiful cottage and were made to feel very welcome by our hosts. The cottage has everything you could need and is in a quiet peaceful location, close to the village. Fabulous stay.
Sue and Richard were great and had the cottage ready earlier for us. Sue made us a delicious cake and provided us with a bottle of wine. The cottage was ample for 4 adult cousins in their 70s. Sitting in the observatory having our morning coffee was a nice feature. We would return if we choose to vacation in Suffolk area again.
Cosy cottage ideally situated for Framlingham Castle and Minsmere
Comfortable and Cosy cottage sympathetically modernised interior and close to unspoilt local pub serving excellent beer and food. Open countryside views, and helpful owners.
We spent 3 nights at this charming cottage. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for visiting all the places that we wanted to, close to the coast as well. The conservatory was a lovely sun trap inevening
We had a wonderful 4-day stay at this idyllic cottage. Richard and Sue were very responsive to any of our concerns (i.e. wifi connectivity), and Sue made us a delicious lemon cake! Would definitely stay there again!
Our stay at Meadow View was lovely. Everything you needed was catered for and the lemon cake was very moorish!! Walk to the pub was about 15 minutes but everywhere else you had to drive to. But to be expected when you're in a village! All in all, would highly recommend and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you Sue and Richard x
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. The hosts are very friendly and helpful Sue baked us the best lemon drizzle cake. There are lots of things to do in the area. We would definitely stay again without hesitation.
Fantastic cottage and very comfortable. We wish we had stayed longer. The cottage had everything we need and the location was great for exploring. Communication with the owners was great so thanks Richard and Sue for a memorable stay in Suffolk.

Beautiful quiet location in comfortable well thought out cottsge. Didn’t rate food at Victoria pub but huttons shop best ever been to. And creetimgham bell lovely
Meadow view is decorated and furnished to a high standard. It's situated in a great location for travelling to all areas of Suffolk. The lean-to sunroom is an added bonus to relax in and watch the local wild life and sunset. Sue is a perfect host and communicated very quickly.
Absolutely couldn't fault this place.
Cottage was spotlessly clean. There was some milk and wine left for us and the owner even made us a cake. Plenty of cleaning products and all the other bits and kitchen utensils etc. you need in a home away from home.
Rooms were good sizes and the kitchen / dining area looks out onto a lovely garden and is really light and airy.
Our 2 year old told us it was just like the Goldilocks cottage and we couldn't have summed it up better if we tried.
There was a high chair and travel cot available if needed and it has its own parking space which is really handy.
Wifi worked a treat.
Really lovely place and really lovely hosts.
Beautiful cosy cottage - the perfect base for exploring Suffolk
From the minute we arrived we felt at home in this beautiful characterful cottage. The home made cake certainly helped (thanks Sue) & the welcome bottle of wine & milk was a nice touch.
The communication throughout with the owners Richard & Sue was fantastic & made for a smooth arrival.
The kitchen was a great space & renovated to a high standard with all amenities catered for. Loved the steps leading down from sitting room into kitchen which gave the space great character. The conservatory was also a fab extra space & quite the sun trap! We actually used this back entrance of the cottage (through conservatory) rather than the front door as it was easy access from car park & meant we could leave shoes in conservatory rather than traipsing through house (easier with teenage boys). My fave room however was the front sitting room with cosy log fire. All bedrooms of good sizes & was wonderful & quiet. Was lovely being so close to nature & hearing the owls in the early hours.
If you want to explore the beautiful villages & coastline of Suffolk then you won’t get much better than this.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & highly recommend Meadow View. Thank you Richard & Sue for such a memorable stay at your cosy cottage.

Thank you Laura for your lovely review. We are so pleased you had a great time and hope to welcome you back at a later date.
Beautiful cottage well placed for exploring the Suffolk countryside and coast.
We so enjoyed our stay at this beautifully renovated, cosy, characterful cottage in Earl Soham. Stunning walks and bike rides from the doorstep including a lovely walk through fields and woods to Huttons in Earl Soham for coffee and a bacon butty breakfast on the first morning. Cycled to the Bell at Cretingham for lunch. Our first time to Suffolk and this particular area was like stepping back in time - gently rolling fields, friendly locals, a slower pace of life and characterful Suffolk pink farm houses and cottages around every corner. Walked from Dunwich along the coast to Walberswick and Southwold one day, and returned through the woods and countryside to Dunwich having stopped for very good chips and the infamous Suffolk Adnams Cider in the garden of the Bell Inn at Walberswick. Just perfect! Loved the board walk from Snape towards Orford and from there through the marshes to the sea. Would love to return to Snape when the concerts begin again. We were overall so impressed with the area - and this cottage was the perfect base. Lit the woodburning stove in the evening and relaxed over supper and a glass of wine after a busy day cycling, walking and exploring this beautiful area. Would highly recommend and will definitely return! Thank you to Sue and Richard for your hospitality and creating such a relaxing space to enjoy a few days away.

Thanks for your lovely review Helen. It’s nice to know all our hard work in making the cottage a welcome place to stay is appreciated!
We are so pleased you had a great stay and we look forward to welcoming you back to Suffolk soon!
Kind regards, Sue & Richard
Sue and Richard could not have been more helpful and the location of Church View is great for exploring the Suffolk area. Lovely surprise to find a smashing lemon cake waiting for for us on arrival to enjoy with a cuppa. Lack of mobile phone signal within the cottage was fixed by switching to wifi calling, which worked a treat. A wonderful break from London life!
Quit location on the outskirts of Earl Soham in Suffolk. September holiday with nice weather. So much to see an places to visit. Cottage fully equipped with all mod cons including internet WiFi. Safe parking, local pub a 15 minutes walk away. Really nice place to chill out and enjoy life
