Very sweet home

The listing is very accurate and there are a lot of stairs. But once you're inside the apartment its so comfortable. The location is perfect to see the Centreville of Rennes.

Comfortable, attractive apartment in historic center of Rennes

I very much enjoyed my stay in Rennes in this well-equipped, well furnished, nicely decorated apartment. It is very clean and comfortable, and I loved the view of the rooftops from the salon and bedroom. It is conveniently located on a quiet street an easy walking distance from historic sites in the center of town, as well as great shopping and excellent restaurants. It is also a quick walk to the métro with direct access to the Rennes train station. It offers a comfortable bed and modern kitchen, bath and WC. I had no problems checking in or out thanks to Véronique’s clear instructions. She is a thoughtful and responsive host who was able to arrange for prompt assistance with a minor problem with the internet connection.

Rennes

A complete review is not possible for me/us, as we did not move into the apartment. The reason for this was the extreme heat in the apartment. The website shows a bright, modern apartment, which is not what we found. We were also unaware that the building in which the apartment is located could not be reached by car, as the streets are largely equipped with electronic barriers. Based on the landlord's advice, we packed our luggage for the stay in a sports bag. We would have had to leave the rest of our luggage in the car. The parking space advertised on the website was not available.

I'd like to address some of the following points: - You mention the apartment being very hot: you should know that there was a heatwave during your stay in Rennes. Also, be aware that apartments in France are not equipped with air conditioning. - You claim that the apartment is not modern and bright: the apartment is indeed in a timber-framed building listed as a historic heritage site. However, the decor is modern, as you can see in the photos. - The apartment is located in the historic center of Rennes; traffic is indeed restricted, but access to the building is permitted. To access it, there is a barrier with an intercom; you just have to ask to open it. - Regarding the parking space, as stated in the ad, it is not guaranteed, which is why it is free. However, there is a paid parking lot just 100 meters away. Thank you.

Well located. Authentic & traditional apartment.

Authentique, unique, fun and clean appartement. Very easy to walk around and find all kind of services and experiences. Careful if you’re tall. There’s a roof beam dividing the kitchen and the dining room…careful it’s very painful when you hit that beam. Validate if the fire detector is installed to the ceiling with a working battery. Strongly recommend to the fire detector upon arrival. Make sure also that there is a fire extinguisher in the apartment. If a fire would occurred you have only the principal door entry you can escape from.

Following your comments I wanted to add different points As VERY CLEARLY indicated in the advert, the apartment is located in a half-timbered building classified as historical heritage, UNDER THE ROOF. So yes in some places the ceiling can be low for tall people Concerning the smoke detectors after checking after your stay, I certify that they worked However, we are going to equip ourselves with a fire detector. But be aware that in France the safety standards are not the same as in Canada and that there are no exterior stairs Too bad you didn't enjoy sleeping in a listed building and apartment dating from the 17th century with its advantages and disadvantages. Wir haben es sehr in Rennes genossen, die Wohnung befindet sich direkt bei der Kathedrale, die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll. Bars und Geschäfte direkt vor der Tür, und trotzdem nachts ruhig. Blick über die Dächer.

Updated flat with plenty of space in the medieval center of Rennes. Bit of a climb up the 4 flights of stairs, especially the last one. Watch you're head if you're tall as it's an attic apartment.

Hoch oben, ruhig im Zentrum von Rennes

Zweifellos sind die Treppen in den 4. Stock eine kleine Herausforderung, aber nachdem die urigen Eichenstufen erklommen und auch die etwas engere Stiege geschafft war, waren wir von der Größe und Geräumigkeit dieser Ferienwohnung überrascht, ebenso wie über die angenehme Einrichtung und Atmosphäre. Ein bisschen wärmer ist es hier oben schon, aber Ventilator und Blick über die Dächer der Stadt entschädigten sehr dafür. Es ist eine Wohnung zum Wohlfühlen, und sobald wir aus dem alten Gemäuer hinaus getreten sind, waren wir im Zentrum der Stadt, gleich mit der Kathedrale vor unserer Nase (aber, nein, es gibt keine Glocken, die uns den Schlaf geraubt haben). Rennes ist eine unaufgeregte Mischung zwischen jung und alt, zerfallen und restauriert, mit vielen schönen Gassen und Straßen zum flanieren und schauen, mit Geschäften und gemütlichen Restaurants. Den Park haben wir leider am Abend verpasst (geschlossen), und unsere Tochter vermisste am Montag das Shopping-Feeling, da die meisten Geschäfte an diesem Tag im August geschlossen sind. Dennoch haben wir wunderbare 1 1/2 Tage in dieser Stadt verbracht, die sehenswert ist, ohne von Touristenströmen überfordert zu werden. Unsere Gastgeberin Veronique haben wir nicht getroffen, aber das Einchecken mit Schlüsseltresor war auch Dank der zugesandten Beschreibung völlig problemlos. Die Korrespondenz war sehr nett, wobei wir leider nach der Abreise keine Nachricht über die FeWo-App hinterlassen konnten, da sie ein Update benötigte, was mangels Datennetz gerade nicht möglich war. Die Wohnung ist auf jeden Fall ein Empfehlung!

Außergewöhnliche Wohnung in toller Lage

Die Wohnung ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und Veronique hat mit Tipps und Nachfragen alles getan, um uns einen schönen Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Dies alles hat den Aufstieg bis unters Dach mehr als ausgeglichen. Wenn wir wieder nach Rennes kommen, dann sehr gerne wieder in dieses Appartement.
