Had a pretty good time here!! Walk to beach out back door, no ocean view from house because there is another house rite behind it. Comfy beds, nice well equipped kitchen! The bad- driveway is ridiculous and needs fixed, AC was horrible. The house is not properly cooled because the return air goes into an open attic in the living room ceiling. Barley got below 78 the whole week,
This was the cutest little bungalow as close to the beach as we could get. Loved being 30 seconds from the white sands. Kitchen was well stocked for functional dining. Having beach chairs, umbrellas and towels was very nice. The house was advertised as having a kayak/canoe and there was not one. That was a disappointing find. A simple updating of the home's offerings to remove that information would improve reviews.
We loved the location of the property and understand it’s an older property but it could use a little TLC with touch up paint etc and some new living room furniture!
Beach house-literally just steps away from the beach!
Loved that the beach was a 10 second walk! House accommodated 4 comfortably and had all the basics. The owner was quick to communicate, and the house was clean. We would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend.
Everything went smoothly. Check - in was super easy. Loved the location. Beach access super easy. Not ocean front but 20-30 steps on path. We will definitely rent again.
Loved our week in Indian Rocks. Appreciated the close proximity to the beach and the ability to walk easily back and forth for needed items! I pitied the people hauling all of their beach gear from across the street. The house is a cute bungalow from the 1940s. Could definitely use a fresh coat of paint and some new furniture, but we weren’t there to spend time inside he house…just needed a place to sleep!

Perfect house, even better location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. I brought my two young children (5 and 2) and my mom for a beach vacation and the location of this house made going to the beach with young kids very easy. It is truly just steps from the water. It is located on a great stretch of beach that is very quiet.
The house is decorated very nicely and everything was very clean.
I would recommend this house to anyone that wanted an easy, quiet, beautiful beach vacation.
The only advice I would give is to be sure you bring EVERYTHING you need because there is not extras like beach towels or plastic wrap to cover leftover food with. Beyond that, 5+ stars!!

Place needs to be updated
Too many things that need to be updated or fixed. the driveway, items in front should be removed, you can not get into the lane of traffic without backing into traffic.
Location, location, location! I cannot say enough about it. Beach access is excellent! we had a large area of the beach to our self as the larger condos and hotels are further up and down the beach on either side. The house, while being a little older, is very quaint and met our needs. The showerhead in the main bathroom is quite low and could easily have a new neck put on it to make it easier for anybody over the height of 4 feet. That was a very minor inconvenience. We did not have a vehicle which was a bonus. The parking is very limited due to the driveway and trees. There’s a trolley stop directly in front of the house so access was easy and quick.Cleanliness was OK. I would recommend doing some dishes before you jump in and start eating. The beds were pretty comfy and the couch was fine for the two hours we used it to watch a football game. The rest of the time was spent at the beach or in the community. Again, location is amazing. We would definitely return to this house!
Listing said wheelchair accessible, but there was a step once inside at both doors. Never really talked to host company, had issue got an automated response. The beach was peaceful and beautiful. Drive way was compact, barely fit my car. It was a great getaway for most part.
We had an amazing time! Got to catch up with a long time friend and swim in the Gulf! The house was so cute and set up perfectly for a little house on the beach! The sunsets are amazing! And there are tons of little places nearby! Id definitely recommend staying at this little place on the beach!!
This is a great little house within steps of the beach in Indian Shores, Florida. All the amenities you could want and within easy walking distance of restaurants, stores, etc....would stay again. Brandie Myhre
This charming vintage cottage was just right for our family oof 4. Though it was just a one-night stay, the house was comfortable, welcoming, and full of the charm and character of days gone by.The location was fantastic—just steps from the beach and close to several great restaurants. It offered a quiet, peaceful spot to rest and reflect.A true little gem that gave our family exactly what we needed. Would absolutely stay again.
Very adequate accommodations with a perfect location right by the beach. Coffee in the morning in front and dinner on the patio was a great way to start and end the day. Amazing sunsets as well. Would choose to stay here each year for spring break!

The location and access to beach is great, however, the house didn’t meet our expectations and needs some TLC. The patio was covered in sand, patio umbrella broken, dirty floors, lamp in bedroom broken, paint peeling off door in bathroom, and recliner is worn out. The beds were comfortable, 2 beach chairs available along with beach towels and appliances fully functional. Bathroom off of kitchen wasn’t an issue but would recommend replacing bi-fold door with solid door to give better privacy.
We were pleased with the charm of the older cottage (built 1945) that has been equipped with most anything required for a quiet secluded stay. Everything worked as it should. Amenities like beach chairs, towels and even outdoor barbecue were all in working order, even though in a used condition. We had no reason to call on the host aside from originally struggling with the key-lock box that we eventually overcame in the dark of night. Although there is no view of the beach or gulf from the cottage, it’s a short 50 steps to the beautiful beach. There is ample parking for a normal sized vehicle on the south of the cottage as well as parking for a small car in front of the door. Although the weather did not cooperate, we would come back and stat again.

What A Disappointment
When we walked in the door, I literally thought we were in the wrong property. I wasn't prepared for the shabby, rundown appearance of the cottage. Whoever gave this place a 9 or 10 must be friends or relatives of the owner.Close to the beach - yes. However, you can't have the windows open and hear the water. All you can hear is the traffic zooming by the front door. And, most of the windows won't open. The 2nd bathroom is off the kitchen - disgusting! Not only is the toilet steps away from the refrigerator, it is falling apart. The whole place could use an in-depth cleaning and paint job. There were three sad, rusty sand chairs and a basket of threadworn beach towels. The outdoor area is surrounded by taller buildings and there is no privacy. The whole experience there was a disappointment.

About the host
Hosted by Carter Vacation Rentals
Here is just a quick overview of my career along with a few of Carter Vacation strengths in the rental industry.
I have been involved in the hospitality field most of my life. After graduating from Boston University back in 1986 I got my start working as a night auditor in a small hotel in Boston. I was instantly fascinated with this industry and wanted to know everything about it. I enjoyed finding new ways to improve the overall experience for the guests and in doing so, I was promoted often. I learned all aspects of each department and through the years I became the General Manager of some well-known hotels and upscale boutique inns.
During my corporate career as a General Manager of a Hyatt Hotel in Tampa Florida, I had an opportunity to manage a small beach vacation rental along the shores of the Gulf. Simply put…I was hooked. This became my new passion and career. My wife and I had stayed in vacation rentals in the past with mixed feelings about our stays, I knew there was room for improvement in the Vacation Rental business and I was excited to get started.
My team and I have worked hard over the years and I feel our success at Carter Coastal Vacation Rentals is from having a variety of vacation property options that suits each guests needs and budget. We also have chosen to keep Carter Vacation Rental business relatively small in order to maintain a personable connection with each of our new arrivals. I, along with my team understand the importance of anticipating the guest's needs as well as treating each guest with complete respect during their vacation getaway.
We take great pride in serving you. We are here for you. So choose one of our properties and soon you will be enjoying a "little slice of paradise" on the beautiful barrier island.
Hope to "see ya" on the Beach Bruce Carter
