Tiny home living on lakefront lot. Morning coffee on deck watching wildlife and jumping fish. Comfy lofted Full sized bed, tiny kitchenette with running water. Small indoor bathroom. Private, outdoor shower. A/C if you want or leave windows open to hear the lovely night noises. Bring your boat and fishing poles. Small private dock available for you. Great hiking/biking/climbing nearby. Perfect for a couple or tiny family.

We also have other cabins that we rent.
Please no smoking inside the cabin.

We are available to our guests by phone or text.

It's so quiet and all of the neighbors are wonderful. It is a very safe area. Fun to walk around or ride bikes.

This one room with tiny bathroom cabin is perfectly equipped for your tiny home needs.

There is no public transit to the cabin.

There is a private outdoor shower.

There is an indoor toilet and a sink with running water in the kitchenette.

Sweet little getaway

Sweet little cabin with waterfront access. Great place to getaway to and catch some fish. Woke up watching deer every morning off the deck.

We had our 20th Anniversary trip at Little Moon cabin. It was perfect! We had a question and Kristi responded very quickly. My suggestions for future visitors who may say there is nothing to do around the cabin…We loved visiting Carbondale. We could have stayed at Confluence Books and The Thrift Shop forever. The people were so friendly. We also visited Makanda and enjoyed seeing parts of the Shawnee National Forest. We stayed for five days and could have never left the cabin. We enjoyed fishing from the piers. I really had a great time bird watching from the observation deck. I would suggest bringing your bins because the wildlife is abundant. There are deer everywhere!!! There are also kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards, lilly pads, life jackets, etc. I would also suggest visitors go to the store before arriving, it take at least 20 min to get to the main road. We bought salad kits and ate them straight out of the bag. We made frozen meals for dinner. We grabbed some snacks, cereal, milk, sandwich stuff and we’re good. The outdoor shower was really fun!

Clean, Efficient, Little Cabin on a Beautiful Lake.

Great cabin, with great host. One of the cleanest and best organized cabin we have stayed in. The hill back and forth from the dock was a bit of a chore, but got used to it by the end of our stay. The dock is a great place to fish for catfish in the evenings.

Wonderful for relaxing!

My husband and I just wanted a couple of days away to relax and this was perfect for us! Cute and cozy with a fantastic view and peaceful atmosphere. They provided a clean and comfortable space to stay, water activities we could use on the lake, firepit, and even some snacks. More than we even expected for how reasonably priced it was. I’ve used this rental in the past. This time it was just me and my dog. The peace and quiet of rental is amazing. The hosts Kris and matt are wonderful! They made sure we were taken care if we needed anything. They are both super nice and friendly. The sight from the cabin is breathtaking. All around one of my favorite I will continue to book at!

Cozy cabin

This cabin is tiny, but cozy. Everything we needed was there. We stayed here to be close to SIU for our granddaughter’s graduation. The drive to the school was easy. The setting on the lake was very pretty & peaceful. We were pleased to find we could bring our pup. He enjoyed his walks on the quiet road. The hosts are so very friendly & quick to answer all questions.

What started as one little cabin turned into a collection of unique stays designed for people who love the outdoors, lake life, and simple moments together. We live nearby and are very hands-on with our properties, always looking for ways to make each stay comfortable, clean, and welcoming.

We believe in morning coffee on the deck, stargazing by the firepit, wildlife sightings, and slowing down long enough to actually enjoy where you are.

Whether you’re here to hike Shawnee National Forest, paddle the lake, visit local wineries, or just unplug for a few days, we’re happy you chose to stay with us.

Why they chose this property

This was a little shed that was on the property when we bought it in 2008. We finished the inside and stayed in in while we built our log cabin next door. Since then, many of our friends come to visit and love to stay in the Little Moon cabin on Lake of Egypt because it is similar to camping with all of the benefits of a tiny home. Open the windows and you feel like you are laying in a tent... only you are laying in a fluffy lofted bed! When we decided to rent this one also, we changed the inside to suit all types of guests and their needs.

What makes this property unique

Outdoor (private) shower that is so great to jump into after a day on the lake. It's especially fun when it's raining outside and it's always warm! Morning coffee will turn to afternoon lunch and evening cocktails on the deck facing the lake. You will see birds, wildlife, fish and turtles in the lake and all sorts of lake activity if you sit long enough. The Lake of Egypt night sky is beautiful and you will have a hard time tearing yourself away to go inside and sleep!
