The cottage decor and furnishings were straight out of the 1980's but it was very clean, comfortable

The cottage decor and furnishings were straight out of the 1980's but it was very clean, comfortable and the kitchen well equipped (but no dishwasher). We enjoyed having the log burning stove each evening which kept us warm and cosy during a very wet week. Being in the centre of Dartmoor, it is an excellent location for walking. The village shop is only for essentials, we used the Coop in Bovey Tracey, but both the village pubs served excellent food. The only negative comment is that there is no mobile signal in the area nor wifi in the cottage (is available in the cottage laundry room). However we wanted to 'get away from it all' so this was not a issue for us.
