Absolutely idyllic spot, with gorgeous pastoral views across the village church and rolling hills. Cosy and warm even though we were staying in sub zero British wintertime temperatures! The character features of the building were so appealing to us as antipodeans. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and was sparkling clean, the welcome basket of biscuits and wine much appreciated . Would not hesitate to come again.

A well equipped holiday property but let down a little bit by the kitchen tap being unsecure.
A well equipped holiday property but let down a little bit by the kitchen tap being unsecure. The amount of cold water that had to be run off before the shower became hot. The furnishings were all very nice as were the grounds, the lakes and wildlife are fascinating.

Plenty of space.
Plenty of space. Lots of extras to be entertained with, even a Playstation. The welcome pack with a bottle of wine was much appreciated. Would recommend.
A very pleasant secluded spot. Perfect for anyone wishing some peace and quiet/tranquility. The Oast was lovely and well prepared, with a very nice welcome pack waiting.
House was nice but living room smaller than we expected (from the photos on internet). Kitchen and living are one room. Bedrooms are bigger and all three with bathroom, that's nice. Floors are very old and cracking, but that's part of the experience. Garden furniture needs an upgrade. We liked the garden and green environment a lot and enjoyed the swimming pool.
We stayed for a few days whilst travelling for a wedding, we really enjoyed our stay. The place is well equipped with lovely little touches on arrival for all the things we usually forget, tea/coffee/milk dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc.
The house is a beautiful converted oasthouse with lots of exposed beams and character... and very creaky floorboards!
The gardens are lovely, we enjoyed a bbq, table tennis and a splash in the pool. We had a toddler with us and you have to be vigilent as there are 2 large ponds nearby.
The owner was friendly and helpful.

Felt More Like Glamping
Super cute, historic cottage, close to some fantastic sightseeing. Unfortunately, it was freezing cold when we arrived. Even after the owner popped by the following morning and got the radiators going, it was still so very cold. My friend slept in her coat one night.
The water was consistently lukewarm or freezing cold. This, coupled with the cold house temp, made it extremely uncomfortable. I finally contacted the owner 3 days in when I realized it didn’t matter who showered first it was always cold, and told him I thought the hot water tank was broken and suggested he get it looked at. He responded saying it was “very strange as previous guests didn’t mention anything.” Then he informed me that he only had the hot water tank set to be on from ten to 7-8 a.m and 3-4 p.m (insert completely shocked face here). This was not disclosed in the VRBO listing, and if it was, I would not have booked. Said he was striking a balance between comfort and environmental sustainability, but 2 hours of hot water tank operation (and clearly not when I needed hot water) per day did not feel balanced to me. It felt cheap, and very much not like a vacation. He then set the hot water tank to run from 5:30 a.m to 4 pm. I still couldn’t wash up dinner dishes, or properly and comfortably wash up before bed.
There was also an issue with a significant amount of sand/debris falling from the ceiling in the twin room onto one of the beds. Not sure if it was insects or just old cottage stuff.
