A lovely week at the Oast house. Hosts were friendly, everything was as described and promised as per our communications beforehand. The beds were very comfy.
Stunning part of the world to explore.
Chequer tree Oast was the perfect base to explore the area. Fully equipped with everything for a comfortable stay. Quiet location but still close to pubs and restaurants. Kids had to do without internet for a week, did them the world of good.

Well equipped home in a country atmosphere yet within easy drive of many activities
4 adults and 2 teenagers found accommodations great. Our stay enabled us to live much as we would in our homes yet with an English experience in our surrounding both inside the Oast and out.
Only frustration was the initial registration process and a weak wifi signal, neither of which would prevent us from returning should occassion permit.
I needed somewhere near me to stay whilst my kitchen was being renovated. I stumbled upon the Oast & so glad I did. A beautiful holiday home. So peaceful & I had a wonderful break. Internet is patchy but that is clear on the listing. I really didn’t have an issue with that. Bed extremely comfortable. Very clean, well kept house. Would love to have stayed longer.
We all loved staying in the oasthouse. It was well equipped and cosy, some improvements could be made especially regarding the wifi. Unfortunately though for us the downside was the location, we are all keen walkers and there wasn't anything directly from the cottage that said we still enjoyed visiting the local sights such as Rye and Appledore and we had a lovely evening spent at the pig and sty where the food was amazing!
First visit to Kent and this was a lovely base. Short of nothing and a little welcome gift as well. Charming home and garden. Carole was a great host. Comfortable beds and living area. Loads of local information. Definitely would recommend it and would happily stay here again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you. A beautiful property very well presented. Chequer Tree Oast is in a lovely peaceful location., but not too far from the pretty little town of Tenterden. wonderful and interesting castles and gardens within easy reach by car. I do agree however with another review that a second handrail would be helpful.
What a gorgeous property in a tranquil and beautiful location. Ideal for visits to attractions in Kent.
Everything about our stay in this lovely house exceeded all expectations. A huge thank you to the owners for their warm hospitality.
The Oast house was charming and beautifully decorated, very comfortable with all amenities required for a relaxing stay. Set in stunning surroundings, I would not hesitate to return or recommend this accommodation.
Beautiful Oast Cottage. You need a car to visit places . Pub 10 minutes walk away.
Beautiful property. Needs to specify that twin room is for children. There are only 2 spaces for cars . Needs a second banister on outer side of stairs for safety. Cottage has everything you need.
We loved just about everything about this property. The house was beautiful, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean (great to see in the current climate). The grounds were lovely and abundant with wildlife, the owner was very welcoming and the house is well situated for exploring Kent. There are also some great local pubs, restaurants & eateries. The only negative we found was the WiFi which is virtually non-existent in most of the house however this may not bother a lot of people. The house is definitely worth a stay.
My wife myself and our friends had what we can only describe a wonderful week in an idyllic place, so quiet and peaceful, the Oast house was beautifully clean and inviting, the owners Tony and Carol who live next door made us feel very welcome from the first morning, the property is very well located for a good number of places you would want to go.
We made no attempt to do any cooking as the pub at end of the lane called the Pig and Sty was a very nice place with excellent food, well worth the short walk of a few hundred yards.
So if you are looking for a break in a peace and quiet look no further

We stayed for a week in this beautiful oast house and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house is set in beautiful grounds and the property itself is even more gorgeous than the pictures, really well done and very homely, we felt very comfortable. Wine and chocolates were left for us which was a really lovely touch. Host checked in on us the first day and let us know how to get help but otherwise left us to it. We played a lot of board games during our stay and the table is more than big enough. Kitchen is surprisingly well equipped for a holiday rental. However it's worth noting that although the WiFi exists, it's pretty poor in terms of reach around the property, and phone signal is nonexistent. Obviously nice in a lot of ways for switching off, but weird if you're used to being connected all the time!
Overall though I'd really recommend, beautiful place in a wonderful part of the country.
My husband and I and some friends have just returned from spending a lovely week here. The property is in a nice peaceful location with a great garden for relaxing in. There are lots of beautiful places to go to within a short driving distance. Had 2 delicious meals in a Turkish restaurant called Ozgur in Tenterden with very friendly and amusing staff. Owners are just next door and they were friendly and helpful.
Beds were very comfortable with quality linens and feather duvets and pillows. Kitchen is equipped with Denby crockery which was a nice change to the usual Ikea offerings.
The only negative is the very patchy Wi-Fi and phone signal. Mobile phone reception seems to be a problem in this section of the UK, we even had problems in Canterbury! EE seemed to have better coverage than O2. Was quite frustrating at times when trying to research places to go.
However we would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Kent again
This cosy little oast is full of character. It has been comfortably converted and is a perfect base from which to discover all that Kent has to offer. The owners live just next-door and are friendly and welcoming. We can't wait to go back!
Very friendly and welcoming owners. Beautiful well laid out Oust House. Plenty big enough for 4 mobile adults. Dining room is particularly lovely for meals and socialising. Fabulous walks to local pubs. Pig and sty down the road is popular and you will need to book.
