Wonderful location, suitable for 2 adults and up to 2 children. One caveat, do not use Google maps to try to find it, it will lead you down the wrong laneway. It's within walking distance to the train station, a real plus if you do not have a car.
This is a great alternative to a city centre hotel, the cottage is very clean, quiet and within a short walk to all the attractions of Canterbury. I stayed with my wife and 2 children and we had all we needed for the weekend. Lindsay was a great host and communication was quick. We had no issues at all during our stay and would recommend this cottage.
This was a most enjoyable stay, the cottage was compact and furnished to a high standard, very comfortable, and very close to the city centre and railway station. And communication with our Host, Lindsay, was excellent. Highly recommended! Mal and Mary, December 2023
We enjoyed our stay here in this lovely cottage, situated in a quiet yard and well located for the City . It is very modern inside and had all we needed. Lindsay was very helpful and answered all our queries very quickly, including the local parking situation! Highly recommended.
Location 10 out of 10. Everything you need for a stay in Canterbury. Tiny bathroom (your knees touch the wall while sitting on the toilet limited head room in the shower). The mattresses are due for replacement.
Steam Packet Cottage is in an excellent location very near the Westgate, in easy walking distance from the whole center. The cottage was well appointed with everything we needed, and we only grumbled about the very cramped toilet. The only other challenge was parking. We chose to park a 12 minute walk away at Sainsbury’s, the best deal. Overall we were very pleased with our cottage and our stay.
We have really enjoyed the place, everything is accessible on foot and the accommodation was well equiped. Our children enjoyed their room and there were shops and restaurants nearby.
The Steam Packet Cottage is a wonderful apartment, equisitely clean with modern facilities. Conveniently located just outside the main old gate of Canterbury it's just minutes from all the important sites in this charming city. Checkin was easy, efficient and communication with the owner swift and clear.
A superb little cottage, clean, good location, easy to park near by and very friendly host. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The closest being "Linden Grove" next to the river located opposite the Bishops Finger Pub around the corner.
