Condo was perfect. Clean & plenty of supplies. Out the front of the condo to beach/pool. Good food at "the Shack". Great communications with the property manager. Thank-you for a great vacation!!!!
As many have said, the location is great but the unit is in need of an update. We loved the community overall with the beach, pool, grill & bar, chairs and many of the amenities offered while staying here. The room itself is fine, but very worn and musty.

Good Day,
Thank you for your review. We are working on a remodel but island time is holding us back. Luckily everything in the condo remains operable and we continue to receive bookings from very happy guests. Thank you again for visiting and we hope to see you again!
Condo could do with an update, but the location near the beach made that not so important. We didn't have a car , but found a reliable taxi to take us around. Food at the Snack shack made it possible to eat many meals without going to town. Always surf to deal with when snorkeling, but we made it work , even for me at 85 years old. I just held on to the rope . Great weather with gentle winds.

Pool and beach were lovely
This unit is in serious need of updating and renovation, especially both bathrooms. The outside screened in porch needs cleaned and the furniture replaced. Since we spent so much time at the lovely pool and beach area, we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation, but the unit itself was disappointing.
We enjoyed our stay here at this beautiful location. The view is spectacular and the unit is cute and clean. The box containing the keys needs to be replaced, as it is very difficult to open or close. Our driver managed to open it, but really had to put a lot of force on it. The twin beds were too hard for me to sleep on, so I slept on the couch. We did enjoy our stay though!!!! The pool, snack bar and beautiful beach make this an awesome place to stay!

Hi Ruth,
Thank you for the feedback, we have taken action on both of those items. We hope to see you again!
This is our 2nd time staying in this particular unit. We love the north shore location & unit proximity to the beach/pool. It has everything we need. But if you’re looking for luxury accommodations, this is not the unit for you. It’s comfortable but in need of renovation - well worn as any place this close to the water would be after many years. We love: 1st floor unit & you can walk out the back door, across the lawn & be at the pool & beach. Great for night swims in the pool & convenient for beach days when you want to quickly pop back into the condo. Location on north shore is mid-island which we like. Under 20 min. to Market STX grocery for good prices & selection. Under 30 min. to Fredericksted for bars & a night sail. Multiple restaurants within 15 min. like Landing, La Reine Chicken Shack & Blues BBQ. 20 min. to Christiansted & the boardwalk. So far it’s been mid-island enough that the beach has been clear of seaweed when other more eastern beaches are not. Condo has coffeemaker, toaster, blender & washer/dryer. Plenty of beach towels. Kitchen stocked with essential condiments and spices. And free rum for first night cocktails, just replace any empty bottles. Beach has WiFi which is a plus. In-season (Apr) beach bar was open every day. Off-season (Oct) only open a few days/week. Plenty of beach chairs & tikis. Water is calm but rocky with small strip of sandy bottom at far end. Peaceful, great views, friendly residents, a little remote if you want center of the action

Nice Location, Needs Maintenance
Pros:
The condo complex was well maintained, had a nice pool/beach area, and the unit is close to the beach. The living/dining room was comfortable and had a good TV and cable service. The master bedroom was nice and had a nice bed.
Cons: Much of the furniture was worn and/or broken and much was too low to the floor (the foyer sitting area is useless for this reason). The bathrooms need to be refurbished (I do not believe either shower/tub can be used as a bath because the mechanisms for closing/opening the drain are broken, the master bath shower head has badly leaking seals so only half the water actually comes out as spray, and neither shower has a wand (which I consider mandatory in a beach house). The kitchen is mostly functional but old with a dishwasher that can only be run at night because it is so loud and burners on the stove which are not level. The tap water tasted awful and was discolored. I was told by guests in other units that was not a problem with their units.
I wish I could post pictures to illustrate the issues but at this point in the review process, that does not appear to be an option.
With a little care, this couldcbe a 5-star unit but for the reasons above I had to knock the rating down a couple of stars. Despite the limitations, we did enjoy our stay.
Gentle Winds was just place for the warm weather week we were looking for. We were two couples and the unit was perfect with the two twins made to a king. The location could not have been better, looking out onto the pool and beach area and being able to walk right out. Having the porch was a plus for relaxing morning coffee. We roamed the island a bit but could have easily spent more time right on the Gentle Winds property. The beach shack was great as well, food was actually quite good.

Great location, needs updating
We loved our stay there. You are literally steps from the beach and pool. Beautiful. They have everything including beach towels, iron, pool and beach toys, coffee and filters, condiments, spices, oils, sweetness, etc.
We are not people who complain, but to help the owners, the following need to be addressed. Needs updates to decor, deep clean, paint the entire interior, the bottom step off the porch is broken. The a/c leaked into the hall, which my husband fixed because he is handy, but it needs to be repaired. The overall decor needs to be updated. Please cut back the bushes in front of the porch so you can see the water from the porch. With these changes, we would LOVE to book another week or two next summer.
