Fantastic position, with great views and close enough to walk to the beach, local coffee shops, pubs and shops. We spent hours watching the sea, surfers, seals and dog walkers.

Beautiful location
A lovely house in a perfect location. However, on arrival there was food left by the previous visitors. Half opened bags of crisps and biscuits in the cupboard. Felt like whoever cleaned it did a rushed job. The walls needed a lick of paint and the sink in one of the bathrooms wouldn’t drain as the plug was stuck. Relatively minor niggles but expected it to be perfect for the money we paid

Superb house and position
We had an excellent stay in this property, it looked lovely on the website but it was even better than I was expecting. We had good weather for our stay in December but I would have been happy to see some stormy weather as the views were fantastic.

Wonderful place to stay
We really enjoyed our week, the house is excellent, well furnished, and it is in a lovely location overlooking the bay, it was an easy place to relax and we enjoyed spending time out on the balcony. As you can tell from the website it is up on a hill but is a short walk down to the beach (where there is a great fish and chip shop) or further up in the opposite direction onto the wonderful cliff top walk of Godrevy. Ample space for our party of 6 adults. Well-equipped kitchen, welcome pack of tea, coffee and milk provided. Beds comfortable and everywhere clean. Well described on the website with very useful floor plan. A guest book in the house would be nice for guests to add comments and useful info about visits in the area.
We did have some negative comments - the carpet in the kitchen is a trip hazard and needs replacing or removing. We rolled it up and put it out of the way. The Keysafe is a good idea but was quite stiff and awkward to operate. Two of the showers were rather slow draining (wet room was great, really liked that). Top oven/grill did not look very clean, we did not use it. One of the oven pans was greasy we left it cleaner than we found it! None of the above spoiled our holiday.

Perfect location
Beautiful property, with good quality furnishings and equipment - right down to the frying pan! Everyone at Cornish hideaways very helpful.
Having gone for 2 weeks it would have been nice to have a little more clothes storage space - wardrobes in every room but not much shelving or draw space.
Would highly recommend for a family holiday

Review of Westaway.
Photographs in the Cornwall hideaways adverts do not do this place justice, even though the photo's are great.
Westaway is a superb home for a holidaying family wishing to explore Cornwall.
The house itself is a superb example of a modern , well furnished and perfect coastal home. In our party there were 6 adults and two infants all were well accommodated and comfortable throughout our stay.
Anyone turning up at this house for a holiday will not be disappointed, views that linger in the memory from most rooms and a wrap around balcony with a large hot tub also with a view of the beach and coast.
Portreath, the village is a nice quiet little place that seems to have developed to service the new coastal properties that have appeared in modern times.
We were there at the end of May and the weather was poor, this didn't detract anything from the luxurious house which was warm and yet could be opened to the elements on a nice day by opening up the bi folding doors which led out to the balcony for the best views in that area, A fantastic place to stay.
Just for a bit of feedback , we didn't here once from the Cornwall hideaway team which wasn't a problem but a call may have been nice to check that everything was OK. (hence the customer service score of 3).

Amazing property
The house was clean, the views views were amazing. Hot tub took a day or 2 to get up to temp but once it did it was lovely. Just wish the weather was better so we could have had the doors open onto the balcony

Our return to westaway did not disappoint
This is the most amazing house and we were thrilled to visit for the second time this February, the views are absolutely stunning and the house is very well set out for surfing (the downstairs wet room is perfect for rinsing off post surf and drying out wetsuits too)
The hot tub is in the best position to watch the waves yet not be seen from the beach and the views from every floor are simply breathtaking
The house is immaculately clean and the cleaners themselves couldn’t have been more helpful .. definitely worth their weight in gold.
We hope that Cornwall hideaways continues to look after its guests as well as Pure Cornwall have looked after us over the past few years and we look forward to returning soon
