Unique 19th century historic, 2 bedroom apartment.
A very warm welcome to 'number eleven', a rather unique stay in one of the Addycombe Cottages. This is a Victorian Grade II* listed apartment in the town of Rothbury, overlooking the Coquetdale Valley. The space is peaceful, welcoming and relaxing. Perfect for a romantic escape or a family adventure. Dogs are considered part of the family and are very much welcome. You will have this first floor apartment to yourselves accessed via the original stone steps to the rear. The living space is open plan featuring an AGA in the kitchen area and a double stove in the inglenook stone fireplace.
A double and a twin bedroom accommodate 4 guests comfortably. The bathroom has a walk in shower, a slipper bath and for your comfort, under floor heating. On road parking is available to the rear. Outside, a short walk from the back gate, there is an enclosed private small garden space where you can sit and have a morning coffee or evening glass of wine amongst the fruit trees. The terrace of houses were built in 1873. Lord Armstrong commissioned Richard Norman Shaw, the architect of nearby National Trust Cragside House to design and build this row of houses to give retirement homes to the staff of his estate. Designed in a distinctive Domestic Revival style, you can see why visitors come to admire them.

A beautiful period property with all mod cons in a quiet setting yet only a short walk to shops, bars and restaurants.
The apartment is in an ideal location for exploring the Northumberland countryside and coast.
Would highly recommend!
The host was brilliant when we had a few issues with heating. Including if needed travelling 45 minutes to us, which luckily we didn’t need in the end.
Beautiful apartment, equipped to an extremely high standard. Absolutely immaculate. Gorgeous little town. Friendly host. Absolutely no way it could be improved on.Thanks for having us.
Beautiful apartment in lovely, historic building. Extremely tasteful furnishings with fantastic mullioned windows. Very scenic spot with gorgeous views and a very pretty town- Rothbury. Super walks from the house and only 25 minutes from very sandy Alnmouth beach. Our dog loved it all and we, as well as him, were made to feel very welcome by the owner in our communication.
We had a wonderful few days in beautiful Rothbury. The apartment was well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Especially like the TV being hidden away. All the neighbours were friendly and the local pubs/restaurants were great. Juliette thought of everything and the stay was totally uneventful, peaceful and relaxing. Thank you Juliette PS fab to bring the dogs too.
Number 11 is a lovely apartment in a beautiful historic building. Well maintained, very clean and well equipped. Located in a quiet area in Rothbury and only a few minutes walk to local café, Italian restaurant, pubs, convenience store and independent shops. It's also in a good location for visiting National Trust properties, riverside walking, Simonside hiking and the Northumbrian coast. Juliette (Property owner) is very helpful, easily contactable and has provided a very useful Information Folder with instruction manuals and info on local amenities, places to visit & walks in the area. We would highly recommend this apartment in a beautiful historic building.
This is a beautiful and comfortable apartment, a couple of minutes from the centre of Rothbury, a charming town with lots of amenities. Easy access to the countryside and the coast with its vast, clean and unspoilt beaches.
We had a great time during our stay and we cant fault the property at all. Lovely and clean, comfortable beds and everything we needed during our stay.
