About this property
Gin O'Clock, Mevagissey. Level Walk to Harbour!
Summary:
A beautifully furnished cottage in the heart of Mevagissey, Gin O'Clock is ideal for exploring everything this quaint fishing village has to offer. Sleeps up to 6 with a double bedroom, twin room & bunk room on the 1st floor. On the same level there is also a bathroom with double ended bath, shower & WC, plus a separate WC. The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen & cosy lounge with wood burner & flatscreen TV - everything you could want for a relaxing holiday away! Has courtyard with seats.
The Space:
Gin O' Clock is lovely terraced cottage just a few minutes walk from the vibrant Mevagissey harbour. Fortunately, this is a level walk so you will not have to battle the hills! Furnished to a high standard, but without losing its traditional country feel, the cottage is perfect for getting a taste of Cornish culture.
The space is well suited for families and small groups, sleeping 6 with a double bedroom, twin room and bunk bed room on the first floor. On the same level there is also a spacious family bathroom with double ended bath, large shower and WC. Furthermore, a separate WC on the same level helps to cater for the needs of larger groups.
Downstairs there is a well-equipped kitchen with high spec appliances, cooking utensils and all the other kitchen essentials you should need for a trip away. This space also has a large dining table for seating up to 6.
The front room has a fully opening, sash window and comfortable seating - great for relaxing after a long day at the beach with a G & T or two! There is also a wood burner for cosy winter stays. For entertainment, we provide a flat-screen smart TV with Apps and cable.
The back of the property has a small, private courtyard that is suitable for letting dogs out, but not enough for exercising. There is also seating here and a BBQ for summer evenings (The BBQ is available for use from April to October).
Well behaved dogs are welcome with a fee of £20/dog (max 2). It is on the condition they are not allowed on the soft furnishings or in the bedrooms.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the whole property.
The Neighborhood:
Mevagissey is a traditional fishing town with a vast array of restaurants, pubs, cafes, takeaways and artisan shops with everything from fudge to nautical antiques, pottery to soaps! There are also many beautiful beaches within 5-10 minutes drive, including Caerhays beach & castle, Hemmick and Vault.
Getting Around:
Given the remote nature of Cornwall, a car is recommended if you would like to explore further affield. There is no parking at the cottage, however, you can pull up outside to unload/load. The nearest car park is Sunny Corner Car Park (50m from the front door) and this can be pre-booked online for a significant discount. There are also several other paid car parks in town.
That said, if you do not have a vehicle, Mevagissey is quite easy to reach via public transport. The nearest train station is in St Austell, which comes direct from London Paddington. From here you can either get a bus or a 15 minute taxi ride.
Other Things to Note:
The BBQ is available for use from April to October.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
