St. Ives holds a very lively fancy dress New Year's Eve Street Party each year. St Ives is a paradise of 4 of the most stunningly beautiful white sandy beaches in the UK, and boasts one of the mildest climates in England. Porthmeor Beach is great for surfing, Porthgwidden Beach is sheltered and Porthminster Beach has beach activities. All are ideal for swimming and all have cafes, shops and public loos. St Ives is the perfect place to relax and unwind, whether it is sunbathing on the beach or enjoying walks, it is steeped in history, and a century or so ago, was known for it's tin and copper mining and fishing. Today, mining no longer exists, but fishing still does. The North West Cornish Coast was featured in the TV series Poldark, where it was filmed. St Ives has a magical atmosphere and has changed very little, which is why it is easily one of the UK's most popular holiday destinations. The original cobbled streets and quaint old buildings are still here, which are now mostly upmarket shops in the centre. There are plenty of shops in St Ives stocked with local and general produce. A Tesco Supermarket is located in Carbis Bay, a 5 minute car drive away, or guests could pre-order groceries online before they arrive. There is an array of restaurants and bars in St ives for dining out. There are many attractions to visit, such as the Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and St Michael's Mount in Marazion (a very short car drive away) to name but three. A Taxi Company, St Ives Train Station and the Bus Station are all just a few minutes walk any. We hope that we have said enough to tempt you into booking with us, but if you would like any further information, please don't hesitate in contacting Chris and Janice Smith, owners of Apartment 9 Fernlea Court, who would be more than happy to assist. We offer SHORT BREAKS (3 nights minimum) in LOW SEASON. Please contact Chris and Janice Smith for details and price If you prefer to be slightly outside of St Ives, we have a second Apartment in Carbis Bay, just a few minutes car ride, or a 3 minute train ride, away from St Ives. This is also a spacious one bedroom apartment, 5 STAR GOLD RATED with ON-SITE DESIGNATED PARKING. Located in a quiet oasis of calm, it has a peaceful garden leading down to the beach (fabulous views from the Apartment). To take a look at the photos please Google 7 FERNHILL APARTMENTS, CARBIS BAY.

Thank you for taking the time to review our Apartment.
We were disappointed that you found the sofa not comfortable - we have never been told that before. It's a pity you hadn't contacted us regarding the tiles as we could have arranged for them to be re-cleaned.
We stayed at this property for a week in April 2023. The property is in a great location and has the most amazing views out over the harbour. We travelled down by train, which was a super way to get there and it was so easy, so we cannot comment on the parking.
However, everything else was brilliant - as was St Ives - and we intend going to stay again next year.
This is a nice small holiday flat in the centre of St Ives.
Gorgeous views over St Ives harbour!
The bedroom is nicely furnished and the kitchen and utility room are very well equipped.
The living room is furnished with a huge sofa that has seen better days (I really got back pain sitting on it).
The bathroom is functional but tired, we had to clean the shower from mold when we‘ve arrived.
There was quite a lot of dust.
Our overall experience was good but not fabulous, I’ve expected more from a luxury apartment.

Dear Dirk
Thank you for your review which we respond to as follows:
Without photos it's difficult to comment. Disappointing that you hadn’t sent photos of your cleaning issues during your stay so that we could have dealt with them. We have passed your cleaning issues on to our Housekeepers.
You refer to our Apartment as small. Our Apartment is of similar size to other one bedroom Apartments in St Ives. Some are smaller. As you would have seen, St Ives is a small place that doesn’t have large buildings.
The sofa is a normal 3 seater size. It is covered in soft leather (as is the love seat). No-one has ever complained about back pain from sitting on it before. Perhaps you are more used to a very firm sofa?
You say that the bathroom is dated which is a matter of personal taste.
We were surprised by this comment as photos of the bathroom are shown on our online Vrbo listing, as is the whole apartment. Visit England who annually re-assess our 5 Star Gold rating have never said that before.
We don't consider our Apartment 3 stars. It is clearly just not for you.
Kind regards
Chris and Janice Smith

Lage, Aussicht, Ausstattung, WLAN waren perfekt - gab sogar ein Begrüssungspaket. Ein Zweitschlüssel und ein zweiter Handtuchsatz bei zwei Wochen Aufenthalt wären super.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would definitely stay again.
The apartment is homely, throughly clean with the most stunning views (view is even better in real life).
Location couldn’t be better with the beach, shops, restaurants all a short walk away. The harbour cafe next door and seafood restaurant were our favourites.
Great that comes with parking very handy- only thing would say the road up to the car park is quite tight so may want to check measurements if have large car. Was fine for us though.
