Luxury, Spacious, Beachfront (direct access) House with Breath-taking Sea Views
Situated on the beautiful 'Cornish Riviera', 'The View' is a wonderful, 5 bedroom house with beach access (direct from the garden) and breath-taking, 180-degree sea views. The heart of the home is the spacious sitting room with large sliding doors allowing you to relax on any one of the 4 comfy sofas and take in the incredible sea-view. It's fully equipped with a flat- screen TV, a log-burner, a vinyl record player (with classic albums!) and a decorative juke box. This room is a cool and cosy space for the whole family! The large, spacious, kitchen / dining room is a fabulous space to host family meals allowing everyone an incredible sea-view. The master bedroom also has wonderful sea-views, a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite with a large shower. There are 3 further double bedrooms which share a large family bathroom with a bath and shower. There is also a Quad room, ideal for younger members of the group which has its own bathroom with large shower. Kids and pets are more than welcome! (they would love it here!)

Great property, incredible sea views, ideally located - we had such a wonderful time! Emily was such a lovely host who I can’t thank enough for being so accommodating with our requests. Next time we’ll have to come with a bigger group and stay for longer to enjoy the house even more!

Fabulous property, seaviews are lovely and the hosts are friendly should you need to speak to them. The house has everything you could want for a chiiled break away. Location is remote and a car a must if you want to go exploring. Highly recommend for a large group get away or a family where personal space is a must! (teenagers!).
We had a wonderful time. The property is stunning. The interor is beautifully done and we felt privileged to stay in this home. The property is right on the beach front so the unspoilt views were incredible, enjoyed from the house and the fabulous garden/patio.
This is a beautiful house with amazing views of the Cornish Coastline. We loved the large airy living spaces, the decor and the well equipped kitchen. We had a wonderful time staying there particularly enjoying the hot tub and the garden. Whilst there we visited Cawsands, Kingsands and Rame Head and got the ferry to Plymouth from Cemyll one day.
We loved staying in this beautiful property. The MOST amazing location, stunning views and fantastically decorated with great artwork.Everything was provided.Beds were really comfortable. We were a group of 7 adults and there was plenty of space. We would definitely book again.Thanyou!
We have a family walking holiday with dogs for a number of years and The View is the best property we have stayed.
The view and location were outstanding and the local pub, which was a short stroll down the beach was excellent (including food)
Emily is a great host, that we would highly recommend!

Hi Martin, We work really hard to ensure our guests have a fabulous, relaxing holiday and I'm so pleased you had a good time at The View! We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Emily and Paul x
We had a perfect week at this beautiful house. A home from home - comfortable and classy. Everything had been thought of and the welcome pack was much appreciated.
It is probably the best holiday home we have stayed in, which is high praise!
Didn’t think we could top our last stay at ‘The View’ but it exceeded our expectations! The house, the hot tub and of course the view, all wonderful. Thank you Emily and Paul!
Wonderful week away with my family. Only a coupke of issues. One side of the oven didnt seem to work. All rhe umbrellas for outside were broken- this did not ruin our holiday in anyway and would definitely return.
The property has stunning views and the direct access to the beach was amazing.
The house is well maintained and equipped, and worked really well for our group of three generations. The teenagers especially enjoyed the hot tub, despite us not having the best weather.
The local shop and pub being within walking distance was very handy.
Excellent communication with the host, very helpful and responded very quickly to my messages.
Stayed for a week in this great property. Views are simply outstanding. Property right on the beach…accessed from garden gate. There are cafes & restaurants in walking distance, and excellent restaurants within 15/20 mins drive. St Mellion Golf Course…30 min dive…is outstanding. Owners of property…Emily & Paul…were excellent hosts. Overall, great week & highly recommended

Thanks Mike, we're so pleased you enjoyed The View! We look forward to welcoming you back at some point in the future. Paul and Emily
Absolutely beautiful home and surroundings! Couldn’t have been happier! Everyone had a wonderful time! We especially loved the scenery and the record player with superb sound system! My grandchildren are now in love with the Beatles music!!! Thank you for the most memorable vacation ever!!!
What an absolutely beautiful house. Everything was just perfect, we all loved it at The View, I could have stayed there for ever!! It ’s like a little piece of heaven! So clean and tidy, well equipped with everything you would need. Lots of space for everyone, even better than the pictures. It has so much personality and uniqueness and of course the most perfect view!! Thank you, we will be back!!!
Property is right on the beach in an idyllic location, with a short drive to Looe. The layout of the bedrooms was perfect for us as an extended family. We had an issue during our stay and it was dealt with quickly and effectively by the owners and their team, so cannot fault on service. The property is well laid out with heaps of space for groups of up to 10. (We had 6 adults, 1 teenager and 3 younger children under 10).
Amazing house, with an amazing view!
Very well presented, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Very spacious and fantastic furnishings. Short stroll down the beach to The Inn on the Shore, which served great food, as did the Bewshea Tapas bar, which was close by. Lots to do in the surrounding area. We found the community store in St. Germans useful for picking up bits and pieces that we ran out of.
Thoroughly enjoyed by all the family, our dogs had an amazing time too!
Emily, the host, was very helpful and replied instantly to any questions we had.
Would love to visit again.
The photos and brochure are brilliant but we were not prepared for just how spacious & beautiful the house is and how amazing the view from the house is. We don’t usually go to the same place year after year but we just didn’t have enough this time so we will definitely be back and already booked
Thanks Emily and Paul.

Thank you, Tina, that really does mean a lot to us. We're so pleased you enjoyed The View. We look forward to welcoming you back next year! Emily and Paul x
Was absolutely wonderful. Totally relaxing. We took my mum in law, and she was happy most of the week just looki g out over the views. We were an extended family with my youngest son at 13, my older boys with their girlfriends and also mum in law, and all of us had a wonderful time, plenty of room. My youngest son didnt want to leave his bedroom and with allmthe things in it to occupy him. Absolutely cannot fault this place, all the furnishings were high quality including the bedding and towels. Gorgeous place and will be returning next year.
Well if any place can surpasses your expectations, this was it. We are a well travelled family and I can truly say that the photos do not do it enough justice. The property is tastefully decorated and has everything you would need for a holiday. I would add that the dining table is so much nicer than the one in the photo. We could have sat in that room at that table and not left the house. The view is just superb. Thank you to our hosts, you have a piece of paradise there. We hope to be back. Claire and Malcolm

About the host
Hosted by Emily Hendy
We are theatrical producers from Kent who fell in love with 'The View' at first sight.
Why they chose this property
Cornwall (and in particular Downderry and the surrounding area) is our favourite holiday destination. We have three children, 8, 10 and 14 (funny names for children(!) and we think there is so much to do here for the whole family - surfing, body-boarding, rock-pooling, go-karting, zip-wires, zoos, castles etc... Or if you want a day out, you can visit Looe, Fowey, Polperro, St Ives, Landsend, the Eden Project...etc... Alternatively, you could just stay at The View and watch out for the seals who visit the reef right outside the window!
What makes this property unique
'Enjoy The View!' The picturesque village of Downderry was voted one of the ‘Top Ten Places to Live by the Sea’ in the Sunday Times. Downderry, together with the neighbouring beachside village of Seaton, have restaurants (The Blue Plate is highly recommended!); a beachside pub (‘Inn on the Shore’ has great pub food with a wonderful view); beach cafés; a village store and a post office. Similar facilities are available at St Germans, which also has a main line railway station providing a useful link to Plymouth. Seaton beach has a RNLI Lifeguard station during the summer and Seaton also has a Countryside Park with riverside and woodland walks.
At ‘The View’, you’re just a 2 minute walk away from access to the beautiful South West Coast Path. If you’re a golfer, you can enjoy a round at at Portwrinkle, St Mellion International Golf Resort or Looe Bindown and if it's fun you're looking for, ‘Adrenalin Quarry’ is a must (with go-karting, a giant swing, a brilliant aqua park and the longest zip wire in England!)
