About this property
Cornish Miners Cottage, St Agnes
Summary:
Langley Cottage is a beautiful old miners cottage in the heart of St Agnes. Recently renovated with a contemporary edge whilst preserving period features, the cottage has a fresh yet homely feel with a large garden.
The Space:
Sleeps up to 6 guests with two kingsize bedrooms, one of which can be setup as a twin, and a third smaller room that can be setup as a single, twin or double. Travel cot also available. The bedrooms all share a family bathroom with bath/shower. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen with all the mod cons. Adjacent, the open-plan living & dining area with wood burner is the perfect spot to cosy up during winter stays. Please note that we've recently added a new annex in the garden, it is not available for guest use.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the whole property and garden but not to the annex in the garden.
The Neighborhood:
The cottage is tucked away just off the high street so is within easy walking distance to local amenities, but still in a quiet and peaceful location. St Agnes has a wide array of cafes, restaurants, pubs, local craft shops, surf shops and more.
A short walk down the hill and you will arrive at Trevaunance Cove. During the Winter/Autumn months this is a popular surfing beach, but in Summer is usually very calm and safe for little ones. Water sports hire is also available down in the cove. From here, beautiful coastal paths lead off in both directions. A short walk East and you will arrive at the lesser-know Trevellas Cove. Continue on to find fields of blooming flowers in Spring and historic tin mine ruins!
Only 5 minutes drive round the headland is the white sand beach of Porthtowan. Another popular surfing destination, this beach has surf schools, gear rental and lovely cafes overlooking the ocean.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, a vehicle is recommended for getting the most of your time here. Unrestricted parking is available in the surrounding streets including on Polbreen Lane and Lawrence Road. There is also a payable car park at the Library, 5 minutes walk away.
Other Things to Note:
Guests should be aware that there are potential hazards in the garden. There is a pond and raised area behind the ornamental garden structures, children should be supervised in the garden.
The BBQ is available for use from April to October.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
