Western Watch is a fabulous property located in the heart of Poldark country with incredible, 180-degree sweeping views out across the sea. Inside the bungalow, guests will love the characterful interiors with the vintage-style kitchen, original artwork adorning the walls and the cosy lounge with its wood-burning stove for the cooler autumn evenings. The owner is a local artist who displays her work around the cottage and which can be bought by guests - so you can take a memento home with you should you wish!
Both the kitchen/diner and the living room have concertina doors which open on to the patio and large garden which has the incredible sea views. The garden is enclosed making it an ideal property for guests bringing young children and/or pets. Guests will love sitting out of an evening and enjoying a glass of wine watching the sun set over the sea.
All three of the double bedrooms are located on the ground floor along with the family bathroom which has both a fabulous roll-top bath and a walk-in shower. There is an additional WC.
Guests can enjoy off-road parking with space for up to two cars, as well as wireless internet available throughout the property. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome.
Western Watch is ideally located for West Cornwall’s incredible coastline and beaches. There are many pubs, restaurants and cafes within easy reach. Pendeen itself is a linear settlement, with an attractive church and an award-winning pub, the North Inn. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes within walking distance and every other Saturday there is a farmers' market in the centre of the town. Geevor and Levant Mines are popular tourist attractions only a short distance away.
The sandy beach at Portheras Cove is just down the road where the white lighthouse of Pendeen Watch stands on a headland overlooking the bay. The hidden beach of Portheras Cove was recently voted ‘Best Secret Beach’ by The Times newspaper and is an absolute gem within walking distance of the front door.

Western Watch was in one of the most beautiful locations we've stayed in in Cornwall.
Western Watch was in one of the most beautiful locations we've stayed in in Cornwall. Lovely and warm which is great for this time of year and cosy. Comfy beds and we appreciated the Christmas decorations. The only downside was the communication.

We enjoyed a great 3 night stay at Western Watch
Exploring the coast path, Cornwall's Tin Mining history and discovering beaches and coves we've not been to before. Coming back to a warm, spacious, comfortable and stylish bungalow at the end of each day and waking up to views of the sea really made our holiday. Timber, our dog, really enjoyed racing around the garden too! Wish we had been able to stay longer. Thank you.
Needs a handyman , open the window in front bedroom curtain rail + curtain fall down door handles broken or just fall off, 2 dodgy lights + bulbs need replacing, grass needed cutting, trim in kitchen hanging off. + needs garden furniture, pricey
The property is beautiful, the garden amazing, never change this .... easy to get to places .. amazing views, very picturesque, felt like home from home. To top it completely and i am being very very picking, some sissors, knife sharpener, and some sun loungers this would have been the cherry on the cake .. but we all loved it and are looking to book for next year. One other thing sofa looks perfect nit so comfy... thank you for letting us stay.

This is a lovely place with stunning sea views.
The bedrooms are more spacious than they appear on the photographs, and the living space is adequate for six people. The large enclosed garden is great for those with dogs. Pendeen Rovers FC play their home fixtures fifty yards up the road from the property, the one village street has a Spar shop and a pub, The North Inn, which serves good food in ample proportions. The coastal walking is a mileso down the lane and breath-taking. Lots of other attractions are within a 25-minute drive.
Our one issue concerned the waste recycling instructions, which were indecipherable.

First time at Western Watch
Beautiful Location, Stunning Views and great walks for the dogs. Very relaxing. We also met the owners of the property. They could see that we were having difficulty with the garden gates and we had 3 small dogs who could get underneath them. They very kindly fixed this problem for us by applying some wire to the bottom so that they could not get out. Overall a brilliant stay and will be booking for next year. Thanks Canovi Family
Maybe a small washing line to hang washing to dry. We did use a clothes rack but had to bring it in when out as the breeze would blow it over

Needs to up it's game
This property was very expensive for what it is. The house gives the impression very much of being someones home or rather cobbled together holiday let. It was not equipped to the standard that one has come to expect from any holiday let. One white wine glass plus an assortment of others. No kitchen scissors and a jumble of other equipment. Whilst appreciating that the decor was supposed to have vintage appeal the overall effect was dated and Spartan and drab. The view from the kitchen was good but the garden was scruffy and unkempt as was the next door property which I understand is lived in by the owners of this property let. One pint of milk left for us on arrival ... mean we thought. We had spent the previous week in a Sykes holiday cottage at half the price and it was superb. This place needs to make more effort to justify it's price. The only positive thing I could say is that it's location is very good and so this meant that despite of the above we enjoyed our stay. If they wish to continue letting this property, (which I imagine anyhow is a temporary way of making money for the owners) I would suggest a complete update. The current reviews on your site are very misleading and whilst not wishing to be mean I would suggest that this is a more honest one.

Excellent base to explore the countryside
Beautiful location and views from the windows. Cosy log burner.
More toilet rolls would have been appreciated, especially for 6 adults for a week. The water/heating system made a loud pitch sound once the pressure built up which was annoying, however the owners sister brother (who lived next door) came and flicked a switch and resolved the problem, but be good if that issue could be resolved as did disrupt our first few nights sleep.

Beautiful location
The house is full of character in a stunning location. It is the ideal place to have a holiday with children and a dog.
No bin bags were left for the bedding and the oven caused a few problems!

We spent almost a week there, surrounded by amazing views from a peaceful cottage, immersed in the green of Cornwall countryside. Not too far away from the property there is a Spar and a couple of pubs. The closest beach, Portheras Cove, is roughly 1.5 miles away, a healthy 30 minutes walka 7 minutes drive, then another 7/10 minutes moderate hike on the southwest coast path to reach this hidden gem. The garden is immense and has great sea views, the bedrooms are really cozy, with very high standard beddings, overall very warm and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, with all the basics to cook some meals (oil, salt, pepper..), would have been nice to find some tea bags and coffee too. The utility room also offers a washing machine. We really enjoyed the cold evenings, watching TV on the cozy couch. It was like staying in our own home, in a beautiful countryside cottage, with sea views.

Thank you so much, we had a completely lovely break. Western Watch is just beautiful and very thoughtfully and tastefully decorated. It’s a great base for the area and the coast just at the end of the road is gorgeous. The local suggestions were also really useful. We will definitely be recommending and hope to come again.
